- Two of Matvei's main fears are both of love - he has a very deep fear of an arranged marriage, and also only being seen as the friend. Up until this point, Matvei has only ever been that and having an arranged marriag would calm that fear, but he does not like the idea of being constrained in a loveless union for the rest of his existence nor being used as a political ally.
- Losing his family - Matvei has a very unnatural fear of losing all of his family. Granted his sister is first for the throne, and he would love to be Emperor, but not in a case like that.
Personality
Loyal and Protective* Mattie has always been very loyal and protective of his family and friends and his country. It pays to be patriotic.
Comedic* Matvei is extremely social and has been funny. Its part of his charm. If he didn't have the ability to make people laugh, he probably wouldn't be nearly as popular. He loves being the class clown, although he rarely gets in trouble for it.
Compassionate* Ever since he cheated on Branna two years ago, he slowly began to change. He is more compassionate and caring and more receptive to people's feelings now than he was. He has spent the last two summers, when home in Russia, volunteering at animal shelters, building houses, and at camps for disabled childen.

History The day that Matvei was born to the emperor and empress was a very beautiful one. He joined an older sister and two younger brothers, all triplets. This placed him as second in line to become Emperor. Any normal parents would have their hands full raising four children at one time, three all the very same age, but not these two. Each child had their own personal servant and nursemaid since they could breathe. Of course, more attention was spent on the boys, although their sister was the first in line. He is very close to all of his siblings, but is the closest with the second born triplet. In typical boy fashion, his brothers and himself would often get into fights and wrestle, but it was never anything serious.
Matvei tried to gain the attention of his parents growing up, and he eventually began to earn it. He quickly became his father’s pride and joy due to his extreme interest in sports, specifically golf and skiing. These were two sports they could both enjoy. Mattie also showed an extreme advantage in snowboarding and rock climbing. His mother feared for his safety, as most of these sports could be considered dangerous, but he never hurt himself. His education was about the same as every other royal. He had the finest tutors that his parents could afford, and excelled in his studies.
He is currently in his third year at Vineheart. In his first year, he briefly dated Branna Leila of Ireland. But he messed it up, and he takes full responsibility for it. He cheated on her with a servant, and it was strictly a onetime affair. He has felt the guilt since they broke up and she has always held a special place in his heart. Simply the first time love thing, and we all know that can take a long time to get over.
