The trip to France had been long for him, even if it had only been a matter of two days, it still felt longer than that given the circumstances. He'd left Rylie behind because he thought it was the better decision but on the trip he had definitely missed her and thus questioned the idea. By then it had been too late though and he learned to survive through his parents without her. Soon he would have to reintroduce the three even if he did not look forward to it. They were going to have to settle down but currently Jacintha needed quite a bit of time to get used to the idea since she had not agreed with it the moment the words had left his lips. Her own response had been a mangle of curses in both Dutch and French while Aldric had remained stoic until he had been the one to speak up and silence his wife. Aldric had accepted Bentley's terms though they were not with a smile, the same emotionless facade that the King generally wore and one Bentley did not understand to this day. His father accepted it for better or worse, preaching that his son needed to ultimately take the country into his mind more so his parents. He needed to make sure that Rylie could take place as a worthy Queen otherwise the throne would be passed down to one of his siblings. Speaking with utter confidence, Bentley had reassured his father of his belief in Rylie and Aldric has simply left it in Bentley's hands while Jacintha had been quick to try and replace the crown. While Bentley was left to defend both himself and Rylie, Aldric had spoken up once again to state quite adamantly that the succession would in fact remain the same. Once the king had left the room, things were tense between he and his mother as he made sure she knew that he was aware of her attempt in getting rid of Rylie and that argument had led to frustration on both parts until the woman finally gave up and left as well. After all of that, as he reflected on it now, the French prince was not sure whether or not he should feel accomplished as it was all confusing to him still. As it had been promised before he left, he still had Rylie and that was all that truly mattered. That thought caused him to smile briefly as he wandered to the stables, pausing for a moment in order to visit with his gray gelding and pass a carrot to both Zar and Cayo before walking back out towards the central campus. Checking his phone, he shot a quick text to his fiancee with a smile still on his lips as he formulated plans for the two of them. Meet me out at the north end of the lake, at around 3? Hoping she did not have plans, he waited eagerly for her to reply before he met up with one of the cars that was waiting near the front gates. Uttering directions to the driver as he read them off his phone, he was a little skeptical in what Rylie would think of his latest idea. She had recently admitted to liking his creative plans though there was no guarantee in what she would think of the next one, he could only hope she would enjoy it.
When they arrived at the correct address, Bentley warned the driver that it would not take long before he knocked on the door to be greeted by a friendly lady who lead him to a small pen where four little puppies were bouncing around. Chuckling as he watched them, the lady told him a little about them. Playing a little with each of them, there was a little black and white female that caught his attention more than the rest. She was not quite as rambunctious as the two boys nor was she as timid as the other girl. The small puppy was more than content to be held and was very sweet. Discussing it with the owner, he paid her and was handed over the paperwork for the dog as well. Walking back to the car with the puppy held in his arms, the driver rose a brow towards him but said nothing on the trip back to Vineheart, stopping at a take out restaurant before dropping him off outside his dorm. Carefully opening the door with nearly full hands, he managed to do so before sorting through the puppy things he had been hiding from Rylie recently.Setting the Basenji puppy on his bed for a moment, he found the leash he had gotten along with the matching collar. This time he was a lot more organized as he gathered his things along with having the puppy tucked carefully in his arm, he walked out towards the lake as it was nearing the time in which he had specified for Rylie to meet him. When he finally made it there, he set the bag of food on the picnic table and let the little puppy down on the ground as she seemed very interested in investigating the new area. She whined quietly before sitting back and yodeling as Basenjis did and he could not help but chuckle at the strange sound coming from the small puppy. Throwing a small toy around with her, she seemed to enjoy it before something caught her attention and Bentley was left looking up from where he was sitting as well. Straightening up, he looked back as the puppy stood at the end of her leash and he looked in the same direction, assuming that it was Rylie coming as he quickly scooped the puppy up and did his best to keep her hidden under his jacket which turned out to be more difficult than expected as she started squirming and causing him to fight the urge to bust out in laughter.

Two days without the guy that she called her fiance now was absolute torture, it might as well have been a month because from the moment that she had come with him to the airport to see him off she had been counting down when he was going to get back. She missed him from the moment that he stepped out of her embrace to cross through security and the gates that took him halfway across the world from her, one of the hardest things was letting go after all that had happened lately and she just wanted to sustain her grip on him. She never wanted to be away from him again since they had come so close to not being together. She still had faith that one day it would have all worked out, she was sure that if it came down to it that she would have gotten the sense that they needed to talk and come back to Vineheart at some point but how long would that have taken and would there to be too much baggage to continue after that? She did not know and really did not care to think about it because all that was important was the future. While he had been away she had kept herself too busy to think about what was missing out of her life right now; even though she knew that Bentley would protest she had made her way to his room first thing and made sure the place was immaculate, doing all the errands that she could think of before then returning to brush up on the rest of the French before she finished the last test to be considered bilingual. It worked out that Sergej was away for the weekend as well so therefore she had gotten the chance to spend a lot of time with the German princess but even that did not change the fact that talking to him over texts and through IMs was really not enough. She felt like she was being a bit clingy so this was never something that she was going to admit to though. She really did not want to picture what would have happened when he did get around to telling his parents and silently she was glad that she was not a part of talking to them that weekend because she really did not know if she could handle facing them. She knew that she needed to get over that fear and knew that it was going to be time soon that she was going to have to see them again but all she could do was hope that by the time that happened they were ready to cut her a little more slack. It did not seem fair that they came to judge her so quickly before even getting to know her. It was all about the status, that was what she had long since realized. She really did worry that when the news came out that the two of them were engaged that his mother would be quick to pass the throne onto their eldest daughter, of course that was not a bad thing since Marie would be an amazing ruler but she did not want that to happen to Bentley, she did not want him to have to deal with all of that because of her and she knew that deep down he was proud to be the next King of France and he was well suited for it. Already he had been prepared all his life to take the crown so why change it up now, other than her seeming to throw them for a loop.
She was already in town when the text came in, she was finishing the last of the exam in the French course that she had been taken as part of the online courses, she had just recieved her marks back and she was beaming with the fact that she had managed to achieve a high A in the class. Although that was not too uncommon for her the fact that she was going to be living in France and using the French language quite often it was something that she knew that she was going to be needing. See you then. She typed in a response since she really did not have too much time at all before she made her way back to the car and then back to Vineheart in order to change and head out in the direction of the lake. She did not have time to even stop at the barn on the way like she usually did when she made her way out of Vineheart but then again she was sure that she would be able to later and she was sure that Bentley had probably already been there, with the amount of treats that the horses were getting she was astounded that they did not weigh twice what they did. She smiled at the thought of the two geldings that seemed to be quite content at being around one another now and getting treats from two different people everytime one of them was there. For a moment she did not spot Bentley from where she was standing on the trail that wound around the entire lake but then with a bright smile eyes landed on him, looking like he was struggling with something though he was too far away to even notice what was going on. Hey. She uttered gently when she stepped closer to him and brow rose as a strange look was given to him when his jacket was moving quite a bit. What are you hiding? She asked with a light laugh. Quite curious now.

He had not been pleased in the least with his decision on leaving her behind when he realized just how much it bothered him. The distance did not settle well with him but then he had to think about Rylie, maybe she would want some space from him but even then the thought did not settle for long given how much he truly missed her. He was still not ready to forget about the Ireland incident and what that had done to him, how he had been holding her at arm's length ever since. When he had stepped back into his dorm room, it had been impossible for him not to notice that it was particularly spot less and of course this had caused him to think again about the fact that she was his servant and how he wanted this to end whereas she did not agree with the idea. What was he supposed to do about that? She said it made her happy but it did not manage to have the same effect for himself. While he was away, he tried to talk with her as much as possible, hoping to be able to distract her from one of her cleaning sprees but clearly it had failed to work since his room was now in one of the cleanest stages it had ever been. Now if he could just managed to keep it that way.... That was always the plan although for some reason it never worked out quite well for him. His mother would have a hissy fit once she adjusted to the fact that Rylie was in fact going to be a queen and if she realized that she was still picking up after her son. It was not going to settle well anywhere really so he needed to take care of it now otherwise who knew what could happen even if it was some simple little thing. She was going to have to adapt to a life where people were waiting on her and that was one thing he did not know how she would respond to. He was used to it since it had been that way all along for him but with Rylie? She had been a servant for not quite a year and she could not just stop doing it. Somehow he was going to convince her out of it although he knew that he was going to have to be careful in doing so seeing as she got upset when he tried to bring it up. It was slightly frustrating but really he could not stand seeing her be upset so it was a catch twenty-two for him and he had to just lightly dance around the subject for now. Sometime, things would change once he figured out how to drop it lightly. When his mother had mentioned giving the crown to Marie, he had prepared for it to come down to that and was solemn while waiting for Aldric's ultimate judgement on the subject. It had not been a surprise that his mother wanted to write him off just like that, she was ridiculous in so many ways that one could not believe. Before meeting with his parents, he had figured that if stepping from the crown was necessary to be married to Rylie, he was more than willing to do so yet he had all the faith in the world in her for when the time came since she was putting so much effort into this. His parents truly had no idea what the girl was transforming into day by day now. Plus, he had coped with the fact that he was to rule over France one day, it no longer was something that sent him haywire. He was ready for it, not right away but he was preparing himself as time passed.
Receiving the message when he was already nearly at Vineheart, he stilled smiled at the phone screen.Tonight was another of his little schemes although she had admitted to not minding so he figured it was a green light then. The puppy seemed curious as to what he was doing but was surprisingly tolerable with being carried as much as she was when he had to walk with her from the dorms out to the lake, she did not so much as try to wiggle from his arms as he might have suspected. Getting things settled out there allowed him to play with the puppy before Rylie arrived and he felt like a little kid again since that had been the last time he had been around a puppy much. Thinking on it now, he second guessed his picking out a puppy seeing as he had never discussed dogs with Rylie before though he did not particularly envision her as being a person that did not like dogs. Too late now really, though the likelihood of that he believed was extremely slim. When the puppy was alert about something, he was soon scrambling to grab her and temporarily hide her although he could tell he was not succeeding very well as she was moving around too much for him not to be looking suspicious. Smiling as he met Rylie's gaze, he uttered back to her. Hey. Have I told you yet how much I missed you? Now of course he was implying this in order to try to distract from the mysterious movement in his jacket though it was doubtful that even sucking up would help get it past her now. The look she was giving him stated without words that she knew that he was up to something, at this point it was impossible not to know really since it was not the least bit sneaky. Oh nothing. Why would I be hiding something? He stated with a crooked grin, chuckling as the puppy managed to wriggle her way to peek out his jacket as if on cue. Placing her on the ground, he watched in mild amusement as she seemed very content in investigating the new comer. Keeping an eye on the puppy as he stepped closer to Rylie for a moment, arms were wrapped around her gently before stepping back to let her get a better view of the new addition. Surprise. He uttered with a small grin.

She had felt like a wimp the entire time she was away from him and realizing how much she was missing him when it was only going to be the better part of two days. When had she become this dependant on being able to see him? When she had been in Ireland away from him for what she thought was good had been torture. There was no way that she wanted any sort of space from him, in fact she wanted the opposite and that quickly became apparent in leaving him in the security gates of the flight. She knew that as time passed that she was going to have to act a lot more like a future queen and less like his servant but she really did not see the harm in at least continuing that until the end of the years since she loved to be able to help him when he was supposed to be focused on other things. She knew that he was busy and it helped her relax as well. If he told her really how much it bothered him though she would be sure to stop, or at least do it less because as of right now she did not quite realize what he was thinking about it. She was going to have a hard time adjusting to people waiting on her that was to say the least but she promised herself that she was going to, she was just going to have to force herself through it, this was all in order to stay with Bentley and even if she was not comfortable with it she needed to make it all work, she owed that much to him and it was a promise that she made to herself, she needed to be the best wife possible. She did not really know what this was going to mean but at least she would have someone to ask since Ellie was considered to be one of her closest friends, since she did not have all too many and she was already married. Her and Ric seemed to get along fabulously and in a way that most people were jealous of, she liked to think that her and Bentley got along that way as well even if they were put through a lot with his antics. She was on cloud nine when she wandered back in the direction of the car that was waiting for her with tests results in hand for the French exam and then getting a text from Bentley asking her to meet him down by the lake, it was like the day really could not get any better than it was right now. When she got back to Vineheart she quickly changed into warmer clothes since it was still quite cold. After putting her shoes on and tucking her jacket around her shoulders she was out the door and on her way to the lake. She knew that she would be able to convince Bentley to stop by the stables with her on the way back but even that was not at the forefront of her mind, she just wanted to see her boyfriend, something that was quite common for her now since she often was thinking of it when she was not around him. It would be wonderful when the two were married and no longer had to be apart even if that might not happen for quite awhile. The walk did not take all that long to reach the edge of the lake where he told her that he was going to meet her.
She grinned when he asked if he had told her how much he missed her and a small smirk tugged at the corner of her lips. You might have mentioned it, but please refresh my memory. She stated with a chuckle. It was becoming easier and easier to be able to joke around with him, feeling effortless and actually quite brave. She was not used to being bold but then again she was not used to being engaged to a crown prince either and she needed to get used to certain things. She was even more suspicious when he uttered that he was not hiding anything and the puppy then wriggled out of his jacket and she laughed gently her eyes going wide at the site. She immediately kneeled down even forgetting that Bentley was there to place a hand out for the puppy to sniff before petting her and rocking back on he heels where she was crouched to glance up in his direction with a huge grin. When he uttered surprise and wrapped his arms around her she was completely floored her jaw nearly dropping to the ground. I have always wanted a dog. Thank you so much, I can't believe this. Her mother had never allowed them because they were much too busy and she was allergic to dogs. Thank you Bentley, you are far too generous. She uttered and dropped her arms after a brief moment since her attention was then on the puppy, scooping the small dog up in her arms. Does she have a name? She asked. She walked over to the bench at the side of the lake and took a seat there to be able to focus on both the puppy and Bentley.

He felt, consequently, like a lovesick puppy while he had been alone in France. Had anyone realized how he was truly acting and what was on his mind, they probably would have slapped him upside the head without hesitation. He felt ridiculous about it at times really but still that did not make him come close to missing her any less. The old saying 'distance makes the heart grow fonder' seemed to be relevant in Bentley's case. Space was supposed to be healthy in a relationship but he wanted nothing to do with it. He was accustomed to having Rylie with him constantly and there was not the slightest of desires to have that change on him all of a sudden. Had she come along with him to France, he was certain the trip would have passed along quicker and been a little more exciting in his case, in comparison to him thinking about how much he missed her. This time, he really was in deep if it got this bad but really was there any other way? Was he supposed to be engaged to someone he wanted away from him? Really his missing her did not seem like too much of a bad thing, it may have been slightly overkill although that was a typical Bentley thing. When it came down to her serving him, he had a plan prepared already. He would give her until graduation, no more than that though and he would finally be able to deter her from it, or so that was a part of her plan. Now it was something of second nature to her and that was not difficult for him to take to mind, he just wished it was an easier habit for her to break since he was feeling guilty about the fact that she had to bother it in the first place. At least he was not near the mess he had been in previous years, right? He was working on being tidier but sometimes things just got in a jumble while he juggled time between practices and classes, it was never purposefully by any means. Up until now, he had already put her through more than enough, he needed to be able to make up for that along with her practically taking care of him as well. He was no longer a child and needed to be a bit more responsible himself, he just had to work on making that a habit. He was still promising himself that he would make a difference of it. The future Queen of France did not need to be working like she currently was, Jacintha and the press would have a hay day if it continued like it was now. Bentley could not bring himself to think that Aldric would smile upon it either. With a little persuading and quite a bit of luck, he might end up talking her out of it, or at least that would be one of his ultimate goals. For now he hoped a little distraction would work to deter her, the puppy being the perfect excuse and well, who did not like a puppy? He certainly did not see that as being the case with Rylie plus with the puppy that he had, he could no imagine anyone disliking the little fur ball.
His attempt at smiling flirtatiously was probably not the best although it was just as a joke in order to dissuade her from figuring out what was now with him.Of course he knew the puppy would not stay hidden long although he was trying to buy himself time for a moment at least though it was made difficult as he fought the urge to squirm as it moved underneath his sweater. The comment coming from Rylie was not one he would have heard a few months ago, she had definitely been getting more confident in herself which caused him to beam with pride. More than you can imagine. He teased lightly with a cheeky grin while trying to maintain the wild puppy which in the end was not going to great for him. When he claimed there was nothing to be hidden, the puppy apparently did not agree with the statement before stumbling out of his hold and into plain site. Warm eyes looked up to watch Rylie's face, smiling as she seemed completely shocked at the sight of the little one and he could not help but to feel quite triumphant in return. The grin on her face made it completely worth it and clear that he had made the right selection once again. He was getting quite good at this brownie points game he figured now. I'm glad. He uttered lightly, truly so as he had no idea that she had ever wanted one in the first place. It had all just been kind of a guess really, he had missed having a dog himself and therefore thought it would be a great thing for the both of them to enjoy as they did with the horses. You're very welcome. I thought she might be a little more fun than a fish. He joked, sadly the gold fish had not lasted very long and he hoped the puppy would do much better. Watching as she scooped up the small dog, he could not help but beam at the two of them. Shaking his head, he shrugged lightly. No, I thought it would be better to leave that up to you. He uttered quietly, reaching out to pet the puppy. His history with naming generally did not go too well. Now he was beginning to second guess if this was a good idea simply since she had not taken long to stop hugging him and move onto the puppy though it was not like he would ever be jealous of the animal. It was perfectly normal, he was still just a little behind from his recent trip. How was your day? He asked, genuinely curious.

It was only ridiculous feeling the way that they were if the other person was not feeling as strongly and she knew that the two of them felt the same way so that justified it to her. After all were they not supposed to feel as close as they were since they were now engaged and set to be married when the time was right. It would be wrong if they did not miss one another in her own mind. She wanted nothing to do with space between them either since she had gotten so used to the fact that he was right down the hallway from her, she had gotten used to the two being such close friends that they did not need to be away from one another so she did not want to change that. She did not want him to be away in France while she was stuck back in Montana and it took all her personal restraint not to just book a flight to France in order to join him. She did understand that there were some things that he needed to do on his own though and she respected that this was one of them, he needed to deal with his parents in order for the two of them to be able to move forward. It was hard sometimes knowing that he had a lot more experience in relationships then she did but really she did feel like they were on a different level than that and he was just in the dark as she was. He told her over and over again that the other people that he had been involved with did not matter and she really knew that it was true, there was no reason for her not to trust him and he made it so clear to everyone that they were together so there was nothing to worry about. She was willing to forget the fact that he had made quite the reputation before her. She was really starting to try to adjust to the life that was proving to be a little overwhelming for her, never would have expected when she came to Vineheart in the first place that she was going to be marrying a crown prince that was going to be the future King of France. She would have never expected any of this even though she was a true romantic at heart she never pictured herself falling in love and never pictured herself being engaged at the age of eighteen. Really the only thing that the two ever disagreed about was her serving him and that was something that was not all too serious, she was here in Vineheart to do a job though, that had been the only reason that she had even been given the chance to go to the school in the first place and while she could promise him that she would try to stop at the same time she felt like it lost its meaning if she were to stop, Ellie still tried her best to clean up for Ric and the two were married, Ric protested as well she knew but hey that was nearly the same situation as between her and Bentley the only difference being the fact that their marriage had been arranged and had been something that his parents wanted for him, making her wish that Bentley's parents could be a lot more like them and therefore be a little more supportive of something that their son wanted to go through with.
She could not help but laugh at the flirty smile he then threw in her direction it was that that seemed to tip her off even more that there was something up as if the rustling in his jacket was not enough. She grinned in his direction as the puppy then was set free between the two of them and wandered over to where she was standing immediately when she spotted that there was a newcomer. She could not believe that he would have gone out of his way in order to get her a puppy and she really felt so special since a puppy was something that she had always wanted but never been able to have when she was a kid and they were never home enough between her mother working and her being at school. Now though that she had graduated and was taking university classes over the internet she did have more time and she was sure that Bentley would be able to help her out a lot as well. She was definitely an animal person so he really did guess right and she was excited to be able to have something to take on walks with her and spend time with the two of them when they were a the barn as well. Something that was symbolic of a time when they were both together. He uttered that he thought that she would be a little more fun then a fish and she did have to admit to that, for some reason even through the best of care the goldfish did not seem to have had such a long life but that was just the way that it went. She picked up the puppy and smiled when it settled in her arms as she pet it and placed a light kiss on the top of its head smiling when he told her that he had left the naming up to her. She took a step closer in order to place the small animal back on the ground and take his hand on hers wanting to make sure that he did not think that she had forgotten about him. Well I think it needs to be something French, maybe Fleur after Fleur-de-lis, the national flower. She stated with a smile wanting to see what he had to say about the idea. He asked how her day had gone and she grinned. Really great, I finished a test in town and I am now considered to be bilingual in the US at least, I finished my French courses. She told him while reaching down to pet the puppy again.

This was all still something very new to Bentley. He did not honestly know if it was normal to miss someone this much, to hate being away from them for extended periods of time. On top of it all, he had no idea if she was experiencing the same thing as him really. She was thousands of miles away and it was not like he knew exactly what she was thinking at all times, he did not know that he was not over exaggerating himself and so sometimes he had to question if it was normal. He had no clue and never would but all he could do was go along with his feelings and trust that it was right. If he was going to marry someone, he better not want to be away from them, it was perfectly normal to want to have them around. If not, then that just would not be right. Being away from her was just an eye opener for him to let him know how much he missed her, how much he cared for her and frankly it did bother him that he was not right there in the off chance of anything happening. If anything ever happened to her, he would be absolutely devastated, as things had been when she had flown to Ireland. Even Pirzi had witnessed what a wreck he had been in the wake of that. He just worried that something might happen while he was gone though it was not like Rylie was reckless by any means, she was not stupid either. He was the one to worry about but he could not refrain from doing so in regards of her. At Vineheart, she was at the safest place she could be, on a campus that was manned at all times by guards and various faculty members but he was convinced that something might happen just because he was gone. It was not like Jacintha was anywhere close to her this time which was a relief really. His mother had been his problem to deal with and thankfully Aldric had pitched in a reasonable effort in addition. All in all he could not really complain about the trip to France in that case, it had gone surprisingly well considering since the house had not fallen to the ground in the middle of the ‘discussion’. None of it mattered though since he was still engaged to Rylie and now was back close to her again, as it should have been. Never would he have imagined for things to come as far as they had, he would have never expected to fall for Carli’s servant or for any of the things that had happened to have happened. It was all just the way things ended up going but now he was not arguing with them by any means, he was happy now as things were where they needed to be. He was very confident that in time his parents would come to agree with his choice in fiancée, they just needed to warm up to the idea, that was all.
Bentley had never specialized in not being suspicious so he was sure that his ‘surprise’ was not going as well as he had originally planned out. Not that it made much of a difference anyway, he was quite sure that she would not flat out guess that he had bought her a puppy before it ran from under his shirt. Or at least he would never have guessed but then again she was smarter than he was. Seeing the smile light up her face was all he needed to feel triumphant in finding the perfect gift for her. Knowing that a puppy would take time, he had thought about her schedule beforehand and figured that between the two of them that they would be able to manage just find, especially since Rylie was ahead in her classes as it stood. Even if the dog could not bark, he figured that it still might help prevent “Thriller” moments as she had experienced before. In his opinion, puppies were much more fun than fish though it was still sad to think that the poor thing had not made it after he had given it to her. He could not keep from grinning at the two of them as Rylie kissed the puppy and seemed still very excited about it. A small smile was shot in her direction as she took his hand, listening as she brought up her suggestion of a name. Fleur. I like it. He uttered with a small smile. Despite the dog being an African breed, he was partial to the name and found it fitting for her, and it did managed to match the designs on the collar he had gotten for her as well. Hearing the next bit of news, he was beaming soon after before hugging her gently. Really? That's great. Watching her pet the puppy once again, he glanced back to where he had set up their lunch. This time he had taken up the idea of almost reinventing their afternoon Austria through a picnic which he had set up not too far off. Scooping up Fleur, he led Rylie the few steps towards where their lunch was set up with a small grin. As they sat down, the puppy ventured not too far from them and in plan sight and he chuckled as she scampered around and was scared by something only to ran back towards Rylie again, clearly having found her security blanket. Looking up from what he was doing, he paused and a brow rose slightly before speaking. Well we're finally Royalscandal official... He commented, watching to see her reaction to this though he was sure she already knew by now. The comment was nothing bad really, better than he might have expected and it was not like it was much of a secret by now. There was no one to hide it from, sometimes it was just nice to keep your personal life, well personal. Not that that happened very often around Vineheart.

She really did hope that this was going to be the last time in the next little while that she was going to have to spend away from him, she really did think that was the way that it was though because there was not too much that the two of them really did apart from one another. She made it quite clear that she was there for him no matter what and was going to follow him no matter where he went so that was not a problem, she was expected to since she was his servant, or was, or still was. She really did not know the status of that now that the two of them were engaged though it really did not feel all that official knowing that they did not have his parents approval. She did not know if that was ever going to happen though, would they still get married if his parents never did manage to approve of her and never warmed up to her? Sure they could say that their feelings were strong right now and that they would go through anything at all to be together but was that still going to be the same in the next few years when the same problems were dragging them down? She did not know if anything could manage to withstand that. She liked to think that it was true and that they would be able to get through anything but she really did not have too much at all to compare it to and the way that she saw it, how was she supposed to win over France when she could not even manage to win over her own inlaws, but then again they seemed to start off on the wrong foot in the first place. Neither of them expected to fall for one another initially but sometimes the best things were ones that they did not expect to happen and therefore she was not going to look down on it, she was looking forward to the future. She just really hoped that eventually that his parents were going to warm up to her because that would make it a lot easier. All of these hesitations were always completely forgotten the moment that she spotted him though, how could she not when he commanded every single ounce of her attention and it was not even because he asked that of her, that was simply the way that she responded to seeing him and always had been. The movements of his sweater indicating something was under it was what stopped her from stepping forward to hug him even if that had been what was on her mind for the rest of the day and how much she had missed him. When the puppy was released from his grip she grinned her eyes widened and she was sure that she looked just as surprised as she felt. She knew that she never mentioned to him how much she wanted her own dog, it had never come up and she never thought that it could be a reality since she was always moving around so much and they were always flying back and forth from France and other places but then again why could the dog not come with them? She recognized the breed but only as something she had seen in a magazine somewhere and not having ever seen one in real life, the puppy was adorable though and instantly her heart melted.
The puppy might not be the largest dog and never would be but she did have a feeling that Basenjis tended to be very loyal so that meant that she was going to be a great protector if Rylie did choose to walk at night, and just the thought of having a companion with her with ten times the hearing that she had herself was appealing in itself. She was looking forward to being able to take the dog on walks. He seemed to like the name that she picked right off the top of her head, and she was glad because France now meant a lot to her, well since she had been dating Bentley it always had because he was French and she was serving him but even more so now that she was going to be marrying him and beside him when he took the throne so therefore it only made sense to name the puppy something after the country, she could not wait to tell her mother about Fleur and knew that her mother would love it since she knew that Rylie had wanted a puppy for as long as she had been able to form the words. When the puppy was placed back on the ground she moved closer to be scooped into his arms when he told her that it was great that she passed her French courses. Of course it would be different when they were actually in France because the dialect was different and she had never really spoken it too much but she was sure that she would be able to catch on without too many problems. She had been so focused on the small animal that she did not even notice the picnic that he had set up nearby and she chuckled when she spotted it and of course related it back to the one that they had when they were in Austria. Promise that there's no paparazzi this time? She asked with a cheeky grin. Really though, now they could take as many pictures as they wanted because everyone knew that they were engaged, even Royalscandal because she had seen the blast that morning. It was suprisingly not too scandalous which was a good thing. He commented that they were Royalscandal official and she shrugged with a small smile. At least they went easy on us, we seem to be capable of flying under the radar which is a good thing, though I do have to say when I first arrived here I never thought that I was ever going to have to worry about being on that blog. She commented and looked back down to her feet when the puppy ran right too her when something spooked her from the weeds that she had been investigating on the other side of the picnic. Her attention for the most part remained on Bentley though. Thank you, for all this, you know you do not have to do this to impress me, right? She uttered softly and sheepishly.

He already promised him that that would be their last trip without one another. With her being his fiancée, there was absolutely no reason why she could not just come along with him. This trip had been different of course but as for all others, he had no intentions of leaving her behind; ever. Though his own thoughts of his parent's approval wavered from being optimistic, he was sure not to bring it up to Rylie since he did not want her to be worrying about it by any means. His parents would get over it and he preferred not to think about it too much. No matter what, he would be standing at the altar and waiting for Rylie . His parents disapproval would not stop him, he still had equally strong feelings for her and did not doubt them. However if he found out she was starting to doubt the future, things might be slightly different. For now though, he was blissfully unaware which was definitely for the better. The moment he found out that she was doubting things for them would be the same moment things fell to pieces entirely. Currently he thought she was every bit as confident as himself, that they were moving forward boldly without allowing anyone to stand in their way. France would love and adore her so long as he kept his confidence in her which would stay so long as he thought she was confident in herself and them though the second he might find out about her questioning them, all bets were entirely off. He wanted nothing more than to completely start new between her and his parents but now that was not such an option. They just needed to move forward and start fresh which he thought to be very possibly. Jacintha needed to calm down for now, Aldric was coping seemingly fine and in some time, they would be ready to meet Rylie, he was sure but they just needed a little more time to adjust. Not that there was not time in the first place. Right now Bentley did not even know when they were getting married in the first place. There was plenty of time for things to go right and fall into place but at the same time everything could fall apart although he dare not think about that by any means. His thought process was shattered when Rylie came into view and he was consumed by how much he had missed her as well, the embrace not lasting courtesy of the puppy beneath his sweater who did not take time to make her appearance. Rylie seemed thrilled with the addition and he could not be any more happy as the response was exactly what he had been looking for.Sure they had never discussed it but he figured it was a safe bet. Already he had thought it through, the dog would be the perfect size to travel with and there was no reason it could not by any means. With the way she handled her online classes, she seemingly had extra time on her hands and of course he was there to help out as well so there was no reason that the puppy could not work out for them.
Despite his want to get her a larger, fiercer dog, he was not allowed while they attended college so the smaller puppy would have to do for now. He had absolutely refused to consider one of those mop dogs that someone had suggested but instead had done some research to find just what he had ended up with. Basenjis were not overly large and they were not barkers by any means yet they were intelligent and loyal which was what he had been looking for. The dog may not have been on record for one of the top guard dogs but it still would be somewhat of a security blanket to him that she would not fully be alone when she decided to go off on walks. At her suggestion of the French name he could not help but feel a sense of pride at this mention and how easily the word fell from her lips. Her French had improved impeccably since she had first started out with it and he had little doubt on her catching onto it while they were in his home country. When she had first decided to take up French, he had been very proud to hear about it but now it was ten times that since she was actually certified as bilingual. Leading her over to the small picnic, he chuckled along at her comment, clearly getting the reference to the time in Austria they had had together although this time there was regretfully no disco roller skating involved by any means. You know I can never promise that. He murmured back at her, looking back at her with a playful expression following the exasperated tone. For now though, it seemed that they were the old news which he did not mind by any means. The last thing he wanted was them nosing into their personal life by any means. We have managed to luck out quite a bit. I’m apologize for it. Saying this quietly, he wished that she did not have to deal with being a part of it but really it was not something he could control for the most part. His gaze flickered to the puppy but only for a brief moment before he focused back on the girl, smiling broadly in her direction. You don’t need to thank me. Though when she brought up his not needing to impress her, he frowned. I like to impress you, I know I don’t need to. Rylie, I like doing things for you, trying to spoil you because you really deserve it. He stated gently, prior to adding. If you don't like me doing things like this, just say something and I'll stop. Maybe she did not enjoy any of this, he had no idea though he sincerely hoped that was not the case. He enjoyed it really but if she did not like it, by all means he would put an end to his antics. Her comfort was the more important thing so maybe she did not like his elaborate plans, maybe they were just too much, he would have to understand since he had no idea where to differentiate between what was alright and what was not. Instead she would have to clarify that for him.

Her mind was going ten different directions at all times right now since it seemed that so much was changing all at once. She was settling into the life of no longer being a servant and trying her best to act like a future Queen rather than a girl that just cleaned up after someone for the last two years, that was such a large switch for her even if it was one that she was sure that a lot of people would have taken too easily. She was not like that though, she did not like the idea of preferential treatment due to who she was going to be marrying and she certainly did not want to just get into a college because of her future husband being the crown prince of France. But that was not something that could be helped and she knew that she had the grades to get in a lot of places all on her own so therefore that was dismissed from her mind long before it was even mulled over for too long. The next biggest thing in her mind was the fact that she knew that his parents did not even come close to approving of her and it did not matter how much he told her that he did not care and it was not going to change the way that he felt about her it did not change the fact that it bothered her. She wanted more than ever now to win her future mother in law and father in law over, she wanted them to like her and to give her a chance to prove herself rather than being so quick to judge. She did not know what to do about it though, was she supposed to just keep going in the way that she was now, set in her ways and set to marry their son even without their blessing of the marriage. It was not like they were going to be getting married all too soon were they? It was not that it mattered if they were but if that was the case and that was what he wanted to happen she supposed that the two of them better get planning as soon as possible in order to make sure that things went off without a hitch since she only planned on ever doing this once. There was one man for her and that was Bentley, standing right in front of her looking just as devastatingly handsome as always. There was more to their relationship than that though, it was not all about the physical attraction that she had always felt for him it was also about the fact that he was charming, playful and so much fun to be around. She tended to be the type that stressed out about every little thing and needed to make sure that things were planned right to the smallest details so there was not too much time that was allotted to actually having fun and relaxing and he was the type that tended to bring that out in her even if it just meant laying in his dorm room and talking or watching Harry Potter movies that they both tended to enjoy. She had always been on high alert when she had been around Carli since she did not know what the Austrian princess was going to do next but with Bentley everything was so different. It was strange to go from a place that she had not been appreciated at all to one that she was cherished and she never wanted to step back into her former life.
She needed to stop thinking about all the negative things and just focus on the fact that all she need to worry about was being persistent in trying to win his parents over and hope that by seeing that she was not going to be going anywhere at all that they might come to respect her after all. She needed to be strong and not allow it to affect her because she cared far too much about her relationship for that, she needed to just focus on Bentley, he was all that mattered right now. She awas so excited to see the puppy and she was glad that it was not a larger dog, she was usually a fan of larger dogs but since they were going to be doing a lot of travelling in the next couple years it did make sense for a smaller dog to be her companion, one that was not going to have to travel in the belly of the plane with all the luggage since that did not seem all that fair with how much time that it would be spending there, though she supposed that it might not be the case when your fiance was the crown prince of France, yet she really did not know that for sure. In her mind the Basenji was perfect because there was no way that she was a fan of the small and yappy dogs. When she tried to make him promise that there was going to be no paparazzi he stated that he could not promise that and a small chuckle left her lips. Well even if there was it's fine, there is nothing to hide now. She uttered softly and that was something that she was very glad about, no more lies, just the truth of the two of them falling in love no matter how unconventional it might seem. When he commented that they lucked out quite a bit her eyes were rolled slightly. That's because we are not as scandalous as the rest of the school. She joked but really it was true there was a lot more interesting stories for the gossip blog to write about than the two of them. Though she did know that with the engagement though they would be keeping a closer eye on the two to see if there was any new dirt that they would manage to kick up. He then went on to tell her that he liked to try to impress her and so spoil her and her cheeks turned slightly red at the comment adding afterwards that if she did not like it that he could stop. If it makes you happy then it's fine I approve, but I don't want you to feel like you have to. I love you for who you are Bentley, nothing else that comes along with it. She whispered to him. It really was not something that she minded, she was just going to have to get used to it. She reached down as the puppy came back to her and scooped the small dog into her lap for a moment.
