Her mind was still seemingly going a million miles an hour as of recently. It did not matter what Julian said or if he had volunteered for this, she was still overwhelmed with the guilt of putting him through it. This was not some normal situation to shrug off, he still had plenty of time to settle down with someone f he would put his mind to it. There was a very adorable side of Julian actually, it was just if you could get him to show it. She had unveiled it for some reason but yet she just could not bring herself to actually accept it. Her feelings were something she had been trying to put off yet she could not as she knew there was something about him that she could not just get over. Why was she bothering with fighting all of it though? There was no reason, their job was not getting in the way, the only thing that was was her self. Getting hurt somewhere along the line was a risk but how big of a risk really was it? By now she should be long past the point of worrying about things like that, she still had failed to give him a decent chance without screwing something up between them. One of these days though, things would turn out differently or so she hoped. But even then, what if they figured out that there really was nothing there after all? If that was the case, she would sure this idea that he seemed so hell bent on would die off by that point. She didn't know, she could not even begin to say either and really all she had to do now was trust that he would stick with it. Had he really let her down this far? There was not a time she could think of and ultimately she was beginning to face the fact that she was going to have to trust him, as daunting as that could seem sometimes but there was no reason proving why she should not. They were still a curious subject to her as well but regardless she did not want to push the envelope with this, everything could be so easily shattered with such an abrupt move even if it was nowhere close to the real thing. Given their past history, it was of course hard to tell if they would be able to work through this or not but she was left hoping more and more as she continued to talk herself into this. The two of them still had a lot more to discuss but she had finally managed to get an appointment with one of the people involved with the mess so she could confront the predicament in person. She was going to owe Julian for life now by the end of this, whether he thought that or not.
A quiet sigh passed through lips as she glanced at the mirror and put on the pair of small earrings, looking at her own reflection for a moment. Her hair fell lightly past her shoulders in loose curls, feeling slightly self conscious since they were going to an event at Vineheart itself but she needed to move on with this fact. It was a carnival of all things, perfectly harmless, right? Glancing down at her choice of an off shoulder t-shirt and jeans, she figured herself to be fit for the occasion aside from waiting on her date although he still had plenty of time to show up as promised. When he had been the one to suggest this, she had almost figured out something else to come up with as an excuse but she could not do that to him in any case. Now was the time for them to start adjusting to acting like a married couple, the sooner she got over it, the better. Reapplying a slight amount of mascara for a finishing touch, she took one last breath before finding her pair of black boots. Right now, she was a little apprehensive though she could not put her finger on why aside from the fact that she might be a little nervous. This was the time she needed to not mess anything up, after all they had not even survived a date yet without something happening. Tonight needed to put an end to that, definitely and she was hell bent on that being the case. He deserved that, they deserved that actually. She needed to stop cheating the both of them, there was no use in that but then again what use was groaning about it all now? Tonight was the new beginning for her. Jogging downstairs at the sound of the door, she grabbed her jacket before opening the door to step outside as well. Hey. How are you? She uttered lightly with a small smile as she glanced up to meet his gaze. Standing on her tip toes, she kissed his cheek gently before walking towards the direction of his car, trying not to think too much and question if that had been the right move or not. It was harmless of course so what more was to it? Nothing.Ever since she had heard about the carnival that the school on, she had actually been somewhat excited as it was usually more directed towards children or teenagers but it had not been something that she had been able to experience much while in New Zealand. There had been about two or three times where they had ventured to a carnival that came annually but those memories weren't very clear now and there was a childish draw to the thought of a carnival. Of course had Julian not brought it up, she probably would not have gone seeing as going alone was simply not as fun of an idea really.

What had he been thinking when he agreed that he was going to help chaperone this event? Really though he was just being a lot more dramatic because he wanted to be out playing at some bar tonight, since he did not get to play with the band last weekend but the carnival was really not going to be all that terrible right? Not now that Aura was going to come with him and he was sure that all he was going to be expected to do was walk around the front lawn a couple times and pretend like he was taking part in all of it as well. At least it was going to mean a chance to get to talk to her rather than sitting at home and talking to her about how all this was going to work out with the two of them getting married so that she was able to stay in the country. Like he had told her he was even more determined to make it work now and like he promised he was not going to go back on the idea. In fact he was going to convince her that he was even more serious about it tonight. He knew that it was a long shot and judging by the way that she had responded when he kissed her the other night when the car broke down he did not know how she was going to respond. Was she going to be happy that she had found a solution to staying in the country or was she then going to run again and manage to humiliate him. Even though he was setting it to happen at the school grounds he was going to make sure that it was well away from the crowd when he did propose because who wanted to be that guy on one knee asking someone to marry them when the girl said no and hightailed it out of there? This was a place that he was going to have to work and then look at all the different people that witnessed this event everyday. Maybe she had changed her mind and she wanted to go back to New Zealand now, she was not the only one that was feeling vulnerable about this right now and he was not used to the feeling since he was used to being in control of his feelings and emotions. He was used to not being serious enough to actually care about a girl and somehow everything was riding on what she did decide that she wanted to do and what answer she gave him tonight, the last thing that he wanted right now was to be rejected yet again. When he had gotten home from the one errand that he managed to finish for the day he took Luka for a quick run so that the dog would have time to get out and stretch his legs before he was forced to stay in the house for the rest of the night, even though he was sure that the dog really did not mind since whenever he came home he was curled right up in his spot on the side of the couch. He was not like other dogs that would tear the entire place down when Julian was away which was a good thing because he tended to need to leave the dog alone when he was at work and he had no interest to coming back to have no house left.
When the time came to get ready he showered and changed into a white button up shirt and black slacks before then winding a tie around his neck looking every bit of a school professor with a tidy appearance. After the tie was tied around his neck with the collar of the shirt settled he made his way down to the kitchen where the small box was stuffed in his pocket along with his wallet and keys and cell phone. After petting the dog and locking the door behind him he stepped out into the fading light of the afternoon and towards where the car was sitting on the driveway. It started with no problem and it did no take long for him to arrive at her door. She did not take long at all to answer the door and a small grin crossed his face as she stepped up to kiss him on the cheek and arm wrapped around her shoulder gently for just a moment in a greeting. I am good how are you? He commented. You look very pretty by the way. He commented and held out his hand for her to take on the way to the car where he opened the door for her in order to get in. It had been a long time since he had been at a carnival last but he was actually starting to look forward to going since the one thing about carnivals tended to be that people were in a good mood and tended to be caught up by the atmosphere there. When they arrived in the parking lot he stepped out of the car with her to walk towards the front where he was greeted by some of the security guards that he had seen around and a small smile crossed his face before turning to Aura. So where would you like to head first? He asked. He had no idea if she was even really up for being here in the first place but who did not like cotton candy and candy apples and fair food? It was hard to go wrong with things like that. The whole fair seemed to be completely packed already with the students milling around and the smell of popcorn. It was amazing to him how the place seemed to be transformed so easily onto the front lawn of the school with no sparing of any expense, that was what these children were used to though.

She had gone back and forth about whether or not this idea had been a good one or not. Though now she was finished with going back and forth about it, it was time for her to settle down with the idea of going public with Julian around the school since ideally they were going to be doing it a lot more rather quickly. She was surprised that Julian had actually wanted to go though since she figured that the band would be somewhere again tonight but that was not the case. Had she invited him either place, she probably would have tagged along again without a doubt as she did have a good time last time even with the unexpected events, though her last little act up was something that she wanted to correct. She did not need to push Julian away like that. It was just taking her a bit to settle with the idea of opening up to him and coping with the fact that she really did have feelings for the man but was that really as hard as she was making it out to be? He was marrying her to keep her in the country, obviously he was not a bad guy to be attracted to by any means. She still could not get over that fact either. In order to make this work out, she was going to have to step up and do something for them.He was practically bending over backwards in order to help her out but what was she doing for him? Not much which needed to change. She wanted to stay here but she still was not too keen on forcing him to do this for that sake. It felt selfish to her yet he seemed to be agreeing with it still and not even beginning to back down. He was making this look much easier than she had even began to account for and it was not even phasing him that she could see. She was still rather shocked while he was standing through it like a rock. Of that, she was definitely envious. She was used to being the cool and collected type without allowing anything to bother her but here she was very much the opposite and there was little she could do in order to even help that fact.
She was legitimately nervous as she got ready for tonight. She did not know why she was so worried as she was used to being around him as it was but for some reason she was convinced that all of a sudden that she needed to impress him. Why exactly, she had no sane idea. Tonight she was all about bettering his impression of her, no more running off or pushing him away. She needed to take this seriously, to take him seriously and not act as though he was just another guy to him. Already she had admitted to him that she liked him, now was the time for her to act on that as she had failed to do so in the past. Tonight was a night that she did not want to mess up, for once things just needed to go as smoothly as possible for them, it was what they deserved. If they were actually going to get married, it was time for her to settle down with the idea and act like she was in a serious relationship with him but when it came to feelings, did she really have to act? She just had to be honest with herself, and with him as well. When she heard the door, it was what she had been waiting on and was what immediately sent her to grabbing her things to walk out the door to meet him. Glancing up at him, she had no other choice than to smile easily as the expression crossed her face without her being able to remotely think about it. I'm doing pretty well myself. She uttered lightly, blushing and looking away as he then complimented her though she felt like she was quite under-dressed in comparison to him. Thank you. It was a carnival though then again it was a carnival at her work where she was supposed to be supervising as she now could nearly be mistaken for one of the students herself given her choice in outfit. There was not much she could do about it now though and really it was not that big of a deal. Having fun was what mattered tonight and that was what she truly needed to focus on. She did not even so much as hesitate when he reached for her hand, the walk to the car actually ending too short for her own liking. What was happening to her? Julian was starting to get to her, she was finally allowing herself to not just hold back. It was about damn time, wasn't it? But still the feelings for her were unfamiliar territory. At the carnival he was more familiar with the guards than herself as she was content to just follow his lead through the entrance and to where he was going. Glancing around in utter amazement, it took her a few moments before she was able to make up her mind. The conversion amazed her as well, it was clear that Vineheart went all out with such events. The fun house. Making the decision as soon as she spotted what looked like to be one, she reached for his hand again to drag him in that direction already at ease and being able to let loose in the relaxed atmosphere. The fun house seemed to be a level and easy place to start off though she did have her eyes on a few other rides that had managed to catch her attention as well. As much as this was already starting to appeal to her inner child, she did not want to bore Julian this so she waited before dragging him to every different attraction that was there.

He did not like to be left in the dark about the way that someone was feeling about him and with the women that he had been with before it had never been too much of a question. They either wanted him or they didn't and they were clear about it and really he did not need to think of anything long term because there was no way that they were going to stick around that long in the first place but with Aura it was something that was new and it was going to be so strange for all their co-workers to then know that they were together when he felt like he had been sworn to secrecy about it. While she had never told him that to his face he just always felt like it would not be a good idea if he were to tell anyone at all and it would end up scaring her away so therefore now that they were going to be married and it was surely going to be something that needed to happen soon it was going to come as so much of a surprise but really it was a good thing right since the rest of the faculty were going to think that they had just been professional about it and had been keeping it secret when in reality everything had been so touch and go the entire time that he did not even know if he was with her in the first place. He was wondering if this had been the best decision since he knew that he could be in the next town over this weekend as well and playing for the same place that they had missed but the band could wait, the band was not going to pay his bills he needed to be more involved in the school because really what he was as a music teacher was very limited. He was thinking of taking over coaching a team though since he had played a lot of sports when he had been in school himself and then again when he had been in university but that did not seem to appealing and he did not really like the thought of having to give up teaching his yoga class but if that kept his job then why not? Maybe he would mentor a club since a lot of the leaders of those clubs tended to be very mature and able to deal with it a lot on their own. He was hesitant in knowing what was between the two of them since he wanted to be spend more time with her and get to know her instead of just staging this all so she could stay in the country but there were only so many times that he was going to be able to be rejected before he was just going to give up and her leaving the hotel after the car broke down the next morning had been something that struck a little too close to home and he was realizing for his own sake that he was going to have to do his best to keep his distance a little more around her and get to trust her over time. Now that she had admitted that she had feeling for him though and he really felt like she was telling the truth the other day in his house he was feeling a little more at ease and maybe this night at the carnival where he was going to be keeping an eye on the place and expected to participate at the same time seemed like the perfect idea, not too many Royals were going to choose a fun night to ruin in order to get their little pranks going so he was sure that it was going to be rather uneventful which was a good thing.
He was not used to being as calm about something that was life changing as he was feeling right now, perhaps it was time for him to change and maybe this was a sign that he was actually getting a lot more mature as he was growing up and getting older but then again he knew that he was always going to have his moments he was just that type of person. He knew that he could not think of the ring that was sitting in his pocket right now or the fact that he was going to actually propose to her, properly with a ring that he had stood and picked out mulling over for hours. But he had faith that it was all going to work out for the best he did not want to look nervous and he did not want to act like it either because they were both already on edge. He really did not feel like he needed to act at all on his part about his feelings. Given time who was to know maybe this would be something that they would appreciate and maybe they both just needed to be pushed over the edge of the unknown to prove that they could make it work instead of just fluctuating back and forth like they were before. It might not be something that people considered to be normal but it would force them to get along. He knew that he had dressed a little more formally but that was only because of the question he had to ask her and he wanted to make sure that everything was going for him, if he dressed up maybe the chance of her saying no was a little less. In his mind she looked perfect when she answered the door and she looked relaxed in comparison to the way that she usually was and that was what tonight was about, tonight was about relaxing and just having a good time. She uttered that she was doing pretty well and a small smile crossed his face. I'm glad. He stated as he then held the door open for her to step into the passengers side of the car and closed it gently. I have spoken with the car for the evening and we came to an agreement of no flat tired, then again it's really not all that far to walk. He joked before pulling away from her house and towards the school. When they arrived the greeting with the guards did not last long because his main attention was on her and he nodded when she said that she wanted to go to the fun house first. The line was not long since there were not too many students there and certainly not enough to fill the actual grounds so when they got to the front it was easy to walk through chuckling at the different mirrors that distorted each of their faces and the traditional 'bridge' that you walked over that felt like it was turning you upside down. When they were out he turned to her. I get to choose now. He told her with a small smirk before leading her in the direction of the Ferris Wheel, a main attraction to every carnival. After standing in line they were directed towards one of the open seats where he took a seat next to her and the bar was dropped in front of them before the ride started. She was free to drag him to whatever attraction she wanted to and he would happily follow.

She usually was not this bad when it came to relationships; she had just taken a rather long break from them and now getting back into it under all the given circumstances made it a little more difficult to adjust to really. With Julian, things had never happened ideally so that all made her a little touchier about it, she was dedicated to trying now. He needed a chance and she was going to be damned if she did not pull herself together to let things work. All along she had never been the best with feelings really, she hated throwing herself out there without knowing how people felt first. While she had never blatantly informed him that she was not too keen on the idea of their coworkers knowing from the start, it was a safe bet really. As far as Aura was concerned, they needed to get things all set between them before adding other people’s knowledge of what was going on into the equation. Things were just easier generally when fewer people knew what was going on, they did not need to know either since it was none of their business in the first place. On that side of the story, it was a little easier on the fact that they were soon going to be married since no one would know exactly what was going on between them. It was not that she was embarrassed of being with Julian, she just preferred that things were a little more set first. With the way things went between them, she was not even sure what they were as they had definitely never come close to specifying and half the time she was shutting him off. The more she thought about it, the more frustrated she got with herself on seeing what she had done wrong. Focusing on that now would not do anything aside from setting her in a bad mood so she needed to move on and look forward to what that would mean. This time around she was bent on giving him a rightful chance, on not screwing it up. After all they were going to have to get accustomed to acting like this in the first place if they were going to literally make it to the altar. That in itself still said something about Julian for her, he had turned out to be much more than the guy she had originally written him off as. Looking back now if anyone would have told her about any of this happening, she would have been the first to recommend them to a mental ward. Then there was the fact that she liked him, as high school as that sounded but how else should she phrase it? There were so many things between them that reminded her of being a teenager that it was unbelievable, most of it she blamed on being surrounded by teenagers while at work and that that was getting to her.
She was still in the midst of having a quarter-life crisis in the midst of all this. Her mind would not settle down about the catch of her marrying him, what was that going to do to them? At this point, she had no idea since they were going to have to fake things and on top of that she was going to be living with him. She could only hope that things would work out for the best and not be at all awkward but she was the one that needed to keep her mind open. He had already made it clear that he was going to continue working through this, she was the one that just needed to go along with it as well. When she met him at the door, things were already off to a good start as she was smiling effortlessly and walking comfortably with him to the car. Now for the remainder of the night to continue on that note, that was all she was asking for. For once she was going to stop thinking about the staff and students being there and on top of that the whole scenario with her pending deportation. Everything would work out eventually, she just needed to focus on having fun. A gentle laugh came from her when he commented that the car had been spoken with about having no flat tires. I’m sure you were very menacing. Teasing him came naturally as it had on their little venture the other weekend. After passing through the gates, she dragged him towards the fun house and was amused by the mirrors and effects as well prior to him stating it was his turn while she was left to follow along with curiosity as to what his choice would be. I honestly never envisioned you as the Ferris Wheel type. She uttered playfully, shooting him a look while they were in line which managed to pass by fairly quickly. The Ferris Wheel had a spectacular view, even if the majority of so was the campus grounds but those were maintained like crazy. She was smiling effortlessly without thinking twice about it, allowing the thoughts on them having to get married not even come into play now. That was not something she wanted to think about tonight, instead she was just along for the ride and going with it. After the Ferris wheel came to a stop and they were then allowed off, she scoped out the different attractions once more before spotting the tilt-a-whirls and then heading that direction. The round of the spinning ride did not last very long though before they were once again walking and the decision on where to go next was left for him. Thank you for inviting me tonight. She stated gently with a small smile being shot in his direction while they walked in whichever direction he wanted to go.

He was not one that was going to judge too much about her from the way that things started off between the two of them because really if she walked right into his life the way that normal women would have he was sure that he would have been bored already and he would have been looking for the next person to entertain him. He did not tend to get his attention caught too often but maybe that would not be the way that things worked at all maybe it was just her that managed to catch his attention regardless of the way that they had met and the way that things had started for the two of them. They were both being careful right now though, they were both treading on thin ice and he really did feel like he needed to make it all up to her, the fact that they slept together twice before they even knew one another, he had more respect than that and he needed her to realize that he was more than serious. This was a path that he had never travelled because he was never serious about anyone and she was changing all of this, they might have just met and not been together long at all but he was feeling strongly about it all. He was long past not wanting his co-workers to know since he knew that when it came out that the two of them were married, like he knew that it was going to they might as well be already prepared for it. If they were going to make it seem legit then she needed to change her last name since not too many people did manage to keep their surnames but then again if that was something that she wanted in order to please her family he was not going to protest against it, but in a way there was something appealing about her taking his last name, people being able to see that the two of them were together and keep their hands off her. Even though he did not even know where the two of them stood right now he was already getting jealous how could he not be? She was both gorgeous and with a personality bound to draw any self respecting guy to her. He knew that he really should be a lot more nervous than he was feeling right now but for a long time he had been debating the thought of something being missing in his life and maybe this was going to be what it was? He was wanting to be serious with someone and yet he was having a hard time getting that close to someone and having a hard time allowing himself to. He could not picture himself getting all that serious with anyone that he had met besides her, she was different than the rest that was for sure. If there was anyone that could make a fake marriage like this work he was convinced that the the two that were so stubborn would be able to pull it off since neither of them were going to want to admit defeat even if it did not work out in he way that they were looking for it to. To give up now this soon though would be like throwing in the towel and just giving up which he was not going to allow himself to do. It did not take long for him to have a good time already when he showed up at her door and they were off to a good start in walking together to the car where he told her that he had had a talk with the car to ensure that there would be no more flat tires. She told him that he sounded menacing and he winked. You bet I was. He uttered with a smirk. He felt like he was a kid again when he led the way through the fun house when they arrived and she seemed amused with all the different effect and then it was his turn to decide where they were off to next, he had to think for a moment before then settling on the Ferris Wheel and it was true when she commented that he did not seem like the Ferris Wheel type and shoulders were then shrugged. I figure it's time for a lot of changes in my life so why not have this be on as well, plus I heard the view was amazing. He told her with a small chuckle. You really could not go to a fair without going on the Ferris Wheel though even if it was not the best attraction. It was impossible not to get caught up by the atmosphere there. After the tilt a-whirl he definitely felt like he needed his feet on the ground for a little while before the next ride and it was the perfect opportunity for his plan. He excused himself to 'go to the washroom' and instead of heading there he turned behind the building to a small game place that was fishing little plastic fish out of the water. He had already talked to the man there and handed the ring that was in his pocket over with a small smile as it was then settled before returning to where she was standing outside the washroom. So I think its time for me to win you some cheesy prize with my incredible fishing skills. He teased. Leading her in the direction of the 'fishing pond' the guy behind the desk shot him a knowing look. He was passed a fishing rod. I think you need to try it out first. He told her with a smirk. It did not matter what fish she managed to pull out because the result was going to be the same and when she did come up with a fish the man behind the counter grinned. So normally you get to choose your prize but this time is a little different. He then handed her the box with the jewellers name written on it and Julian smiled a small thank you before turning to Aura knowing that she would not want him to make a spectical of it right in front of the rest of the fair. How about you come on a walk with me? He uttered nodding towards the small path that led to the lake behind the booth. Once they reached a more secluded area he bent down to kneel on one knee in front of her. I wanted to make it official, will you marry me? He asked, of course he was nervous because whenever he managed to put himself forth she tended to run away but this time he was convinced that he would understand no matter what she said. RING

She wanted to get past how they had met and what else had happened between them. If she never got past any of that, it was destined to hit a brick wall straight from the start. She was not the girl he had met at the bar, it had been entirely out of character for her and something she wanted to forget as soon as possible. She just wanted to move past them sleeping together and given that it had not happened for awhile, that was a good start for her. There were other things to worry about so she was not too focused on that fact any more now, the recent events were a little more fresh and unforgettable in her memory since they were stressing her out quite a bit.But honestly if she had not ever ended up sleeping with him, would she have ever even bothered with him? Sure they would have met at school but it was not like she would have tried to catch his eye by any means. Things had just well, happened.Had they happened differently, they would not be in the same boat they were in now by any means. She was starting to come more and more confident in this situation. When things went right between them, they were great all she needed to do was let things fall into place practically. All she had to do was go along with it and well, not shut down on him which might not be that hard as she had tried making it out to be. If anyone actually could make this work, it was them by all means as they already proved that they could argue like they were married and other than that it would not take too much to pass off for it in the first place. As long as she did not make it look suspicious by thinking too much into it, they would be perfect.Really she was the one that actually needed this to work. The flight back to New Zealand that was waiting for her in the upcoming weeks was a reminder of that, along with the idea of losing her very stable and prestigious job at Vineheart.Marrying Julian would not be the worst ever thing to happen to her, right? She could be stuck paying someone she did not even know to marry her, not that she was that slimy. This felt slimy to her but of course she was coping with the fact that it was not quite as bad. There was some give to it when she sat down and started thinking about it.
His comment of how menacing he was caused her to laugh easily as she could almost picture him doing something silly like that as ridiculous as it seemed. Even if it was just a joke, she did manage to find the humor in it.The night really was off to a good start for the two of them, they were relaxed and enjoying themselves without any awkwardness as they wandered around the carnival. The Ferris wheel decision had surprised her hearing his reason why caused her to smile slightly. Truly it was one of those rides that you could not just skip out on either so it was not like she did not agree by any means. After they stepped off the third ride, she was having second thoughts on that decision as it was just not quite as fun as it used to be by any means. Walking it off made it a little more tolerable and she glanced around again as he went away for a moment. Looking around as she was supposed to, she did not see anything too suspicious so she did not feel too guilty about neglecting her 'chaperoning'. Turning back to see Julian again, she rose an eyebrow before he brought up winning a prize for her.Naturally, because you are just amazing at everything. She uttered with a roll of her eyes though it was good naturedly for once. Being handed the fishing pole, she eyed him rather suspiciously before taking it and 'casting' it into the small pond. After a moment, she managed to catch one of the magnetic fish and smiled triumphantly in his direction before glancing back to get her prize and nearly freezing at the sight of it. As much as she wanted to pause completely, she forced herself to take it with a smile before turning back to Julian with a puzzled look on her face. Silently she followed after him before stopping and fighting the urge to gawk as he started kneeling down. Her heart was hammering at the sight, hoping that his shoe was untied and this was not what she had a feeling it was and that it was all just some sort of mistake. Why was he doing this to her? She wanted to tell him to get up, to stop him but she could not. She couldn't hurt him like she'd done before and now she felt trapped. She couldn't say no, she could not be that cruel and it was not like she entirely wanted to say no in the first place. It was not like she was guilted into saying yes, it was just that she was a little unprepared. This, all of this, was so sweet that she could not process it completely. Yet here she was, probably staring at him like a deer in the headlights when she really needed to answer him.Biting her lip as she formed the answer, she wanted to compose herself entirely so her voice did not crack or waver by any means. Yes. She uttered lightly with a smile before leaning down to rest a hand along his jaw and kiss him gently though it was not fake by any means despite her previous mental freak out. Now was the opportunity they needed to give one another a chance as otherwise they would never get that. She was trying to open up to it, even if it was slowly, she was still testing the waters.

He did not like that they were not off to the best start as it was right now, there was already so much history in the way of the two of them that could come back to bite them in the ass in the future and he would have really liked to be able to give the two of them a clean slate but life really did not work that way. Even if you said that you were going to start new that did not erase the memories like a program on a hard drive, it was still there and still could be brought up even if you agreed not to think about it, it coule come up subconciously and while he was not too to concerned for what that meant for himself he was not too sure what it really meant for her, would she be able to move past what happened with them and accept that he wanted to make this work and he was even willing to go out on a limb and marry her when the two had not even been together for too long. If there was anything that could make the two of them try to work things out between them it was going to be the fact that they were going to be living together and needing to act like a perfectly happy couple now. While she thought that he judged her from that night that they met in the bar that was never the case because he was able to see that she was nothing like the way that she had acted that night, the two of them just happened to bring out that reckless side of one another, they were eachothers exceptions and in his mind that really could blossom into something that was special and powerful if it was given the chance and the two of them managed to stop fighting it for long enough to take a step back. He really was not the same guy that she had met in the bar either, he had been when he was younger and liked to think that he was now but really he did not tend to get that close to people at all and did not have the heart to just sleep around like he used to when it was seen as something that every musician did because really it tended to get old quick and he knew that in some ways he really needed to grow up and get his life together. There was no need to stress because he was convinced that everything was going to fall into place even if things did not go right according to the way that they were planned, where was the fun and the sense of adventure if that happened, life was supposed to be a journey and not just a straight and narrow path that was planned out from day one. The things that were unplanned tended to make the largest impacts in your life and he was starting to realize that with the way that he was feeling about her and the fact that he even came to the decision to ask her to marry him because he did not want to lose her and did not want to see her shipped back to New Zealand it was a hell of a risk to take but really what could the Department of Citizenship say? They could not prove that the two were doing this in order to gain her way into the country because even if it was proven that the timing was impeccable they could not say anything about the two 'falling in love' in a whirlwind romance like the story was going to depict. It was becoming clear that they needed to stop putting as much thought into everything as they were right now because when things were simple between the two of them they were great and he never wanted to complicate things. It was the nights like the one in the hotel room that spooked him and tended to cause him to lose his confidence in what he was going to be doing tonight with the ring settling in his pocket and feeling like a very heavy item there that he would be remembeing the entire night. He was able to forget about it for a litle while though as they were on the Ferris Wheel and then onto the next ride that left him feeling a little wobbly and sick before walking it off. There was nothing too much going on in the carnival and everyone was on their best behavior with the entire thing running smoothly so there was nothing too much that he needed to keep an eye on when they walked in the direction of the magnetic fish game that tended to be the cheesiest of games since it was something that was pure luck at which one you tended to choose in the water. His eyes were rolled at her comment as well when she uttered that he was naturally good at everything and a small smirk crossed his lips. Glad you think so. He uttered playfully. The fish was brought back up to the surface when she 'caught' it and the ring box was offered by the guy that was running the game. It was clear that she knew what it was as the two of them then walked to the small trail that ran along the side of the lake where there was no one around to gawk and he dropped to kneeling lightly on the path. It was clear that she was surprised and he was not too sure if that was a good thing as she eyed him before then finally saying yes even if it had not taken that long it seemed like an eternity. He stood as soon as the words were uttered and her hand ran along his jaw lightly as lips were brought to his. The feeling of relief was overwhelming. He reached down to take her left hand and placing the ring on it, he had not even been too sure that she would like it but he did spend quite a lot of time picking it out. Guess it certainly won't be a secret now.. He commented with a shrug. RING
