The weather was starting to warm up, no longer were the nights so bitterly cold that he would wake up in the morning wound so tightly in his blanket that he felt like he was suffocating, no longer did he need a heavy jacket when the sun started to sink below the horizon long. Soon enough it was going to be summer and that meant a lot of things for him. That meant that he was going to be leaving Vineheart once and for all, moving onto larger things with his life that involved stepping up to take the throne the moment that he graduated and it also meant that he was going to be living in Mexico again. He missed the country so much, he missed not having to feel like he was going to turn into an icicle every winter, even though he knew that he was going to be spending a vast majority of his winters in Belgium. He wanted to make sure that Ellie got as much of a chance to see her parents as she wanted, that also meant that he was going to make sure that he was there with her, getting to know his inlaws better than ever. He loved the snow and loved white Christmases so it was only natural that the two would spend the holiday with her parents since he was going to get to be around his family quite often, after all they all lived at the palace in Mexico where he was going to be ruling. The whole idea of being a King weighed heavy on his shoulders, this was not the Kings of Vineheart they were talking about anymore, this was the real deal that he never should have been having to deal with this young but mistakes had ensured that he was going to be just like his cousin in taking the throne so early. Spain and Mexico would be ruled by Kings that took the throne barely being the age of majority. He liked to think that he was handling it well; there were no breakdowns and he was married and so happy with the woman that he called his wife, if every arranged marriage turned out in the way that he and Ellie had there would never be a reason for fighting against an agreement like that. He was under the impression though that too many people ended up fighting against it without even giving the other person a chance, who was to say that you could not make it work. His parents had never been an advocate for arranged marriaged, wanting him to marry who ever he fell in love with but they also did not think that things were going to happen in the way that they had with his father needing to step down immediately and the council taking over the control of the country. It was not that they did not trust the council it was the fact that the control needed to be kept in the royal lineage and the people of Mexico were only willing to give him until he finished high school before he needed to take the spot, with a wife. He still could not believe that Ellie had ever agreed to such a situation when it was sprung on her the night that they had dinner on a large boat off the coast of Mexico. He appreciated the girl from that moment on and the feelings only grew from there on, how could he not love her?
In some ways he could not wait for the next couple months to pass by so that he would be on the next flight to the home country that he loved, he would not longer have to have a seperate room from the woman that he was married to and that was one of the hardest parts about being here in Vineheart even if he did manage to convince her to sleep in his dorm room quite often with the promise that he would make sure to sneak her out in the morning so that she would not be caught. Though with the good things that came with graduating there was also a lot of stress, a lot of new responsibilities that he was nervous about, something that he was not going to think about tonight though since he was planning on having a good time at the carnival. He had been told by Ellie that she was going to be there with Rylie so he was left to fend for himself showering and running a towel through dark hair before then slipping a button up shirt over his shoulders and black dress pants and he was deemed appropriate. Making sure Ellie knew that he wanted to ride the Ferris Wheel with her later he had decided that he was going to seek out his younger brother at the carnival and hope that he did not have too much company because it had been a long time since the two spent much time together since they were both so busy. He was also planning on finding Bentley there knowing that the French prince was going to be alone as well given that Rylie and Ellie were together. His room mate had been a lot more placid lately now that he had gotten engaged to Rylie and it really was something that was nice to see since at first he thought that it was going to take the man forever to grow up. The entire place looked amazing with the way that it was transformed and all that was going on.

Warmth of the sunlight – it was all what the young prince needed. The bitter cold wind, the thick clothes and the gloomy skies of the passed few days began to freak him out due to the fact that he desperately hated winter. He was glad that spring was coming at last and he was eventually able to wear his favorite shirt to go out without any scarves or coats. Nevertheless, the last winter was quite unforgettable and it had left the young prince a bit of concerns rather than hatred because his elder brother was finally married at a very young age. He was not the type of person who liked to sticks his nose in other people’s business but he had to admit that the marriage was so strange to him literally. In the twenty-first century, his brother who was still a teenager had a wife while he was still in high school. At first Zephyr was a little shocked when he heard the news that the wedding was about to be celebrated but the seriousness on his parents’ faces proved that there was no joking in this event. All that remained during the event was his silence – no objection or agreement. He just merely played a good brother who always supported his sibling with whatever the decision that his sibling made and he certainly had played it well in the wedding. He did not have a lot of chances to talk to either his brother or his sister-in-law due to the fact that business seemed to surround the two all the time that they hardly had time to breathe, not mentioning talking to him. No anger or disappointment was shown since Zephyr appeared busy as well. Since the new semester began, it was the first free noon he had had today and he decided to spend it in the front lawn. The Carnival was not exactly what he was expecting to take part in though it was fun to have his friend around and to join them in some activities. He was not the silent type but not the out-going one either. So friendly and laidback did he appear, he needed his own space for some air sometimes and being surrounded by people was not always the best option for him since he was never the real him when he was with them. The man with many faces was currently tired of his masks. Maybe it was best for him to stay in his dorm, pack his bag and take a long nap instead of wandering around the front lawn. However, the excitement on the other students’ faces when talking about the Carnival had successfully distracted him and had led his feet to such place quite early before the festival could even start.
Walking with his hand in his pocket, Zephyr started to sink in the ocean of thoughts in his head. It was honestly so strange to finally have a sister-in-law and she turned out no royalty or noble. He respected her with all his heart but he just simply found it… strange because he did not understand what was so special about Ellie that made his brother crazily and madly in love with her. He could tell that it was true looking at him whenever his eyes were searching around to find the familiar figure of his lovely wife. No one he saw in his life had ever made Alaric so happy that way, except his wife – it was a good thing of course. Ellie is a great young lady who was even more respectful than some nobles in some certain aspects. She must have been the most caring and the bubbliest one in the whole wide world but the honesty of hers was what the young prince admired the most due to the fact that he could never be the same when his life was filled up with lies and faked masks on his face all the time. Despite the admiration, still it was so weird to call her sister-in-law. But he guessed he had to learn to do that, at least for his brother. Lying in front of his eyes was a long life that he did not know where the end was and hopefully he Ellie would become an important part of his life, as a dear family member or maybe a good friend of his. As for now, he was simply neutral but quite pleased that she was the happiness of Alaric’s life. His eyes looked vaguely at the empty space in front of his with no certain purpose, no target to search for and no one to look for. Zephyr kept walking straight ahead until he was stopped by seeing a familiar face. A small smile crossed his face and soon turned into a questionable one as he realized his brother there – alone. It took him a few seconds to look around the area so as to find the other familiar faces such as his sister-in-law… But others around him were technically strangers. “Um… Ric?” He called out the name in a concerned voice as he wondered whether it was really him or not. Possibly his eyes were so wide as if he was seeing an alien or so. A larger smile landed on his lips when he confirmed that the one he saw was not the product of his imagination. “Wow… it’s really you! What are you doing here alone? Where is Ellie?” A bunch of questions came next and after that was a sudden pause because the prince felt quite awkward starting the conversation that way. “Long time no seeing you. How are you?” He ended up with even weirder sayings. Zephyr rubbed the back of his head confusingly since he did not expect to greet his dearest brother with such sentences which people normally used when meeting acquaintances, not siblings. Since the wedding ended, he had been afraid that his brother would never be the same again and the gap between them would be even larger. Still, he hoped that they both could be close together again but they were no longer children in fact. The fear of losing his brother began to eat his soul and now he was feeling awkward in front of the one whom he had spent the whole childhood with. “I’m sorry… I was so silly! But it’s a great pleasure to finally see my brother here.” Such a great relief did he had after saying so. A playful grin showed up.

One would expect someone in his situation to hate winter and the snow but that was no at all the case, in fact he had learnt to love it, Christmas in his mind was meant to have a white blanket of snow on the ground even though every Christmas that he spent in his home country that was never the case, he was going to make sure that they were in Belgium during that time now since it was not only a special holiday because of Christmas but also because it was his wedding anniversary as well on Christmas Eve. A lot of people found it strange that he had gotten married at that time but really everyone in Mexico was so busy with their own plans for the holidays that it was safer at that time, that did not change that the streets around the reception had needed to be shut down long in advance though, the floating restaurant was luckily isolated enough that there was no a single incident and not even a single photographer had been able to get through the security so the only photos of the married couple from that day had been released by his parents after being approved since everyone in Mexico was on the edges of their seats to see the future Queen of Mexico. He did have to admit that it was not going to be easy for Ellie; these people grew up their entire life knowing that Ric was going to be the King of the country and preparing themselves for the day that it was going to happen, he had been in the spotlight since birth and had a large impact in the large decisions for as long as he was able to comprehend what those decisions meant, she had only been in the spotlight since the two of them were engaged and people were going to do all they could in their power to find flaws in her only because it was in a persons nature to think the worst of one another. It was going to be a tough year but then again he knew that of anyone that his wife was up for the challege and she really was going to win over the people. Where he took after his father quite a lot she was going to be the person that they were going to be able to relate to, wanting to please everyone and compassionate. He hoped that they were going to be able to see this. He knew that he had even really gotten the chance to talk too much to his brother before or after the wedding since that night he and Ellie had left for a honeymoon in Iceland. It might be seen as something that was strange but really who was going to know them there and they were able some time to just relax after wedding preparations were such a pain as well as get to enjoy a little time together before then returning to Mexico for the rest of the break and then back to Vineheart to finish their last year before the two of them were going to graduate and he was going to be crowned with her at his side as a Queen. It was going to be different but it was also something that he was looking forward to, how could he not look forward to it when he had the best person at his side?
He was not planning on going to the carnival as early as he was right now, but he did not have much else to do since he was all caught up in all his classes, Ellie made sure of that since the two were often studying in one anothers dorms. Mostly his since Bentley was not around too much since he was always off with Rylie. The two were lucky as well since they had never had a third room mate like a lot of the other boys rooms. He knew that it was written all over his face just how in love he was with Ellie and that was a good thing because before her he really had not been serious at all with any other girl. There were a few that he dated when he had been back in Mexico usually over the summer but in his mind nothing compared to the Belgian girl that he could always count on and even if the marriage had not been arranged he was sure that after the night at the Masked Ball at Dante's birthday that he would not be able to get her out of his mind, it was strange how the two had met then before any of this happened. Stepping into the crowd that was gathering he still knew that he was hard to miss given that he was the second tallest in the school, well technically the tallest now that Xavier had graduated last year. A small grin crossed his lips casually as he managed to spot his brother just at the same time that he was seen. Hey. He uttered fondly. Of course it's me. He stated with a playful roll of his eyes. Ellie came with Rylie I believe, she's around here somewhere. He told him with a shrug. I was actually hoping to be able to find you. It's nice to see you too, I feel like it has been so long. When he was asked how he was his smile only then widened significantly. I am pretty great and yourself? About ready for summer even it that means that things are going to get even more stressful. What have you been up to? He asked.
