The night before Aubrey's phone made the familiar ring as it recieved a text message and as Aubrey opened the text a smile spread across her face as she realized the origin of the text. Her servant... her loyal and trusting former servant. It was weird to use the word former servant on Ellie. Most servants Aubrey just dismissed without even learning thier names but Ellie had been with her for a while now. That all changed recently when Ellie got married and Aubrey was once again without a capable servant. While she was home for christmas her family conducted new interviews but none of the girls stood out to her so Aubrey went without. However it still made her smile when she recieved messages from the girl and Aubrey wasted no time in claiming her entire saturday for a Girls Day Out! The shopping in Montana was awful compared to Paris but Aubrey knew that she needed to make Ellie to the best queen the Mexico had ever had. It would reflect poorly on her parent if Ellie was seen as unlady like by her new country, and Aubrey refused to have any black marks on her record.
So Saturday came and Aubrey woke up at her usual time in the morning, 7am, for a brief work out with her dance stretches. If she took a day off then she felt lazy and disgusting so she woke up every morning and worked on her ballet moves. Ballet was so structured and Aubrey thrived in structure. After her practice she went to get ready for the day. Her favorite pair of designer jeans and the perfect little top to complete her outfit before hair and make up. Just because she was meeting with a fellow female did not mean she shouldn't look her best. Finally she was ready and Aubrey left her dorm to make the journey to the shopping area that she told Ellie to meet her at. Of course Aubrey was a few minutes early when she arrived so she stood and waited for her servant to arrive.
It felt like not too long ago she was just meeting Ellie for the first time. Funny that the divide between servants and royals seemed to blend here at this school. Aubrey found herself in love with a servant and her servant found herself in love with a royal. Seeing her boyfriend in secret was becoming increasingly difficult since there was never any good news. Her parents were convinced that an alliance through marriage with Italy was the best option for Belgium. Duty overrulled happiness and yet her servant married a Royal who was happy with her.
The blonde looked down into her purse and pulled out her cellphone. Her fingers glided over the buttons as she typed out a text message to her secret lover. He was the only boy who ever made Aubrey blush and she knew that he was special. The only thing holding her back was always his status in the world and of course her upcoming marriage to the prince of Italy. The phone ended up back in her purse and then she tucked a piece of hair behind her ear as it had come undone.

The previous night, Ellie had debated long and hard on whether or not to actually do this, but in the end the loyalty won out, and besides, she’d always thought of Aubrey in the sense of a sister, not really a royal, although when the princess went into one of her tantrums, then it all went to pot. So she’d texted the Belgian princess and had been glad to receive a reply that didn’t necessarily want to cut her head off. Ellie was still apprehensive about the fact how Aubrey was dealing with her new-found status and the fact didn’t go unnoticed by the girl that her former employer was currently without a servant still. The thought worried her and she wondered whether none of the girls from the school where she’d been taught had been good enough, and it made her bite her bottom lip. Aubrey definitely needed a servant to make sure she had everything she needed and her schedule was up to date, Ellie had always had to make sure she did the preliminary schedule run in the morning when she got up before they even did anything else. The texts had continued back and forth a bit, and then eventually Ellie gave in to what was a promising Girls’ Day Out, except she was sure she’d be the one carrying the majority of the bags this time, with items for herself. Aubrey seemed pretty hell-bent on making sure her former servant was at her very best in her new position in life, but Ellie appreciated anything the other girl would want to do, so long as it didn’t mean any harsh feelings between them. So she’d agreed, although she still wasn’t comfortable with spending more money than she’d been used to before.
They’d agreed to meet at the Strip, and so Ellie had explained to Ric why she wouldn’t be seen all Saturday, giggling to herself because it had taken her a bit. The two had gotten so used to being around each other over the weekends that it was a pain any time the other had something else to do. She woke up at her usual time, though it was a bit earlier than usual, and got up regardless of the fact that she felt like she needed extra sleep. The assignment for the math club was taking longer than expected, and more hours, and so Ellie felt beat up. The first thing to do was shower, and she did so happily, enjoying her new-found freedom for the time being while she stood there and knew she didn’t have to make sure anything was in place except her own clothes for the day. Peeking through the window and deciding it was still a bit too early for a skirt, Ellie dug out a fresh pair of jeans, one of her favourites, and hunted down her tank top and white sweater that would come over it all, also getting her shoes. Aubrey had been the first one to demand that her servant wears heels whenever they go out in public, and the lecture had stuck with Ellie throughout it all, even if she enjoyed flats more often than not, but she was going shopping today, and Aubrey would possibly have a heart attack if she arrived in anything but a kitten heel, at least. The ones she’d chosen now were higher, but luckily Ellie had been dealing with heels since school where potential servants were taught how to walk properly in them so they wouldn’t disgrace their employers. Her make-up didn’t take too long, it was just some mascara and lipgloss, very basic, and then she grabbed her phone and purse and left the dorms, leaving a text for Bella to see her later that afternoon. She was at the Strip in plenty of time, knowing she’d be right on the mark when she did arrive, and she could see Aubrey waiting for her already. While she was a bit nervous, that had never stopped her before, and Ellie smiled, waving at the princess before she came closer. Hi, she greeted her, a bit shy, and then decided her next action was allowed as she hugged Aubrey briefly. She was pretty confident the blonde girl wouldn’t bite her head off for it, I’m sorry if I kept you waiting.

Finding a servant was not hard to do. Girls would line up for the chance to just get near Royality so there were always plenty of application for servants, exspecially for the future Queen of Belgium. It amused Aubrey that most who ended up as servants came from broken homes and this oppurtunity just fell into thier laps. But the girls that did line up for thier chance to be a servant were really just hoping that they would meet a prince, fall in love, and then become Queen. She knew that her former servant had not gone out and actively searched for her own fairly tale ending. Once again that oppurtunity fell into her lap.
Her hand slipped into her purese and pulled out a pink compact that she had stored away in there. It was one of those cheap ones that had the word princess written in glitter on the front but she loved it, despite the fact that it was cheap plastic. She pulled out her lipgloss and quickly touched up since she could not show a less than perfect face before her loyal servant. Although Ellie was probably the only person she would trust to see her in a less than perfect condition. A quick hair flip and she deemed herself perfect before she slipped the compact back into her purse.
Being early was not unusual for Aubrey since her father always taught her to be prompt for things like classes or political meetings. Now for social events Aubrey always arrived fashionable late, as was expected of the Queen. On some level Aubrey was excited for her girls day out with her former servant and she was always excited for some shopping. Aubrey's opinion was that Ellie needed to update her wardobe if she was going to be taken seriously as Queen of Mexico but luckily Aubrey was here to make sure that happened.
A smile spread across her well glossed lips when she heard the familiar voice. "Hey!" She replied and then accepted the brief hug. Then her hands quickly moved back and she adjusted her hair quickly. "I wasn't waiting long. Just long enough to add some more lip gloss." She replied and then motioned to her favorite store. "lets start there. They always have the most fashionable stuff here in Montana. I think we will have to go to Paris for fashion week this year. I bet your husband would let me borrow you for a week of Fashion and fun."

The last thing on Ellie’s mind had been finding herself a husband who would eventually become Queen. She’d been raised better than that, even though her parents had been hoping for a match with someone high in the Belgian court. But eventually she’d managed to snag Ric’s attention, and that one had been a complete accident anyway. She also had to thank the fact that because of his past and what had happened, she was able to now say she was his wife, though at the beginning she hadn’t thought it would be possible. Then again, nothing seemed impossible these days. But Ellie still resented those who said she was only in this for the money and the title, which was why she still used her previous name whenever she could and occasion didn’t call for her formal title, and she never spent a lot of money, even though Ric’s mother had sort of given her a green light to buy anything she wanted, and Ric continued spoiling her any chance he got. It was beyond hilarious that Ellie seemed to be fighting it all with all fours, as much as she could, though she was relenting on some aspects. There were things that needed to be bought or received, like the charms bracelet she always wore now, a gift from Ric, and then the wardrobe that seemed to be getting tweaked here and there. Sure her mother in law had sent her lots of clothes, but Ellie just didn’t feel that comfortable wearing them, which was why she was actually sort of relieved to go shopping with Aubrey right now. Aubrey had a killer fashion sense – and in Ellie’s opinion a MUCH better one than Leena – and she also didn’t go too over the top with prices most of the time.
Seeing her former employer looking her very best on the Strip was a good image for Ellie, because if she were honest with herself she missed spending time with the other girl. Usually, they’d been close to each other all the time, except whenAubrey wanted it differently, but otherwise Ellie had always been the shadow that would come along wherever the princess went. Especially after the fiasco of the announcement of the marriage between Aubrey and Romeo. That one still filled Ellie with dread, knowing that Aubrey held no cordial feelings towards the man at all, and the man himself was questionable. Ellie knew of him only from the Kings, and that was saying a lot since she didn’t have that much of a high regard for the group, except certain individuals in there. She shook her head to remove such thoughts and focused on Aubrey, smiling when the princess returned her greeting and her hug, although she had to beam more when Aubrey pulled away to fix her hair. Typical, but it was a welcome gesture that settled a cloak of normality around Ellie’s shoulders. That’s good then, she commented when she realized she hadn’t been late at all. Keeping Aubrey waiting wasn’t your best bet ever. Turning to look at the shop Aubrey’d pointed out, Ellie nodded, silently resigning herself to the fact that Aubrey wouldn’t allow her to return to school without at least a handful of purchases. Then again, that was the whole purpose of today’s trip anyway. Sounds like a plan, let’s see if they have anything good. It’ll be weird shopping for me though. She knew Aubrey, out of all people, would understand this. Ellie had been in this shop before – but she’d shopped for Aubrey, picking up her orders or just randomly getting stuff that caught her eye and she thought the princess might like, or look good in. At the mention of Paris, Ellie’s eyes opened wide. You think we could both go? Ric wouldn’t even be an issue, he would let her do what she wanted to keep her happy, but Ellie hadn’t been to the Paris Fashion Week as anything but a spectator from afar, since these types of events only allowed royals in. The enormity of her new position was only just dawning on the girl and she had yet to get totally accustomed to it all.

Marriage... For a girl who had it all it was the one thing she did not want any part of. Romeo had been an ex boyfriend and no one in her family seemed to understand why it is she hated him so much. Cheating was not one of the things that Aubrey would accept in a person that she was going to spend the rest of her life with. And the saying was "once a cheater... always a cheater" and Aubrey was not about to risk her feelings on a man that was likely to cheat again. Actually ignoring his texts over the past few weeks had made her feel slightly better since now she didn't have to interact with him. But she knew that the time was coming where she would need to speak to him. They needed to sort this out soon even though Aubrey just hoped that her father would take care of things like he always did for his spoiled daughter. He bought her all of the finest things in life and yet he would not give her the one thing she truely wanted and that was out of her arranged marriage. Hopefully he would do the right thing and just not show up to their wedding since he was after the reason thier relationship was screwed up. There were just so many angry feelings towards him and she was trying to just let them go but failing at it.
Once Ellie agreed to the shop Aubrey smiled and walked over to her favorite little store. In Montana the shopping was so-so but at least this store had some of the cutest little accessories and things like that. Everything was one of a kind in this store and Aubrey's credit cards were feeling a little cold. This shopping trip was more than for Ellie, it was for Aubrey too, but her focus would be on her friend. "Oh a big group of us will go. It will probably be you, me, Viv, some of the fourth and third year girls." She had not bothered to learn the names of the younger girls since the only one that matter was her little protege. "It will be so much fun." She added and once they were inside the store Aubrey took a moment to glance around at their latest selection. Then she began by walking over to something and looking through the racks while speaking with Ellie.
"So... has the royal family in Mexico been treating you well?" She asked without even taking her eyes off of the clothing. No one would treat her servant badly, she was sure of that. But she knew Ric and she knew that he loved Ellie however Aubrey still had to make sure. "Other than the beaches what else is there to do in Mexico?" She added onto her last question. Of course Aubrey had been to mexico before but only on vacation and during that time she did not leave the beach once unless it was for a party. "This is totally cute. Try it on." She said as she pulled a dress off the rack. Then she grabbed another few and handed them to Ellie. "Go on... I want to see everything."

Ellie was probably one of the few, if not the only one, who actually knew the situation with Romeo down to the last detail. After all, there weren’t many things a royal could hide from their servant, and if they were dating another servant, well, they knew. But she never wanted to press the issue with Aubrey. If she were honest with herself, she was simply happy that her former employer had gotten to know someone who loved her, and she obviously loved them back. For Romeo, however, things were going to get tricky, and so they would for Aubrey too if they didn’t find a way out of this mess. There was nothing that could really stop them from just saying ‘no’ at the altar, but Ellie was kind of sure neither of the pair wanted that kind of a scandal, regardless of the fact that they enjoyed scandals as a rule. She’d talked to Ric about the situation countless times, wishing she’d be able to do more than just listen to Aubrey rant and stand to the side, but even her new position as a princess didn’t change the fact that this was Aubrey’s battle, which she had to fight alone, but that also didn’t mean that she couldn’t have a support system in Ellie. Ellie would always support Aubrey through thick and thin, regardless of what happened and what Aubrey did. Unless it was something incredibly stupid or silly or selfish, but even Aubrey had some limits, or so she’d come to realize over the years of serving the girl. However, time changes people, and Ellie couldn’t know how Aubrey would deal with the problem now. She’d be there to help in any way she could though.
Speaking about Paris Fashion week was like speaking about something close to walking on clouds. Sure Ellie had been to these events before, but not actually and not in person, she’d always just been the one behind the scenes making sure the appointments were all done correctly, that Aubrey’s wardrobe was ready, that sort of thing, making sure her princess would shine the moment she stepped out. That she’d be the one in the spotlight as wel was something she’d never actually dreamed of before, but she did guess that being Ric’s wife had opened doors to her that she hadn’t known existed. She wasn’t quite sure how the other girls would take it though. Ellie knew that including Aubrey’s best friend into the mix, as well as younger girls, only ever meant one thing. And you’re sure the other Queens won’t mind if I come alon? she asked carefully, I’m not one of you, after all. You know I could never survive in that group, not even for five seconds. Ellie had never hidden her distaste for the group, but also slight fear. All the girls within it had been born and bred to become rulers some day, or marry rulers, and unless something drastic happened to her personality, Ellie didn’t see herself changing that way any time soon. She would have to be careful if they actually went together, she didn’t know how the others would take her. Sure Aubrey was the Head Queen – sharing the title, if she remembered correctly, but she wasn’t about to mention that out loud right now – but that didn’t mean people would like those she liked on instant. Ellie would have to tread carefully and just hope Aubrey and Viv would set the trend, though she was unsure as to how the English princess would take her as an addition either. She’d cross bridges when she came to them though, as always. They walked into the store, and Ellie smiled kindly at the owner who stood to the side, before her attention returned to Aubrey. Beyond well. They’re really welcoming, I was so afraid, especially of Ric’s brother ... but it’s all good. It was Ric’s mother’s idea anyway, so I guess the family came prepared. It was nice knowing Aubrey cared though, and it made Ellie smile as she glanced at some of the things that caught her eye. Well, the obvious exploring I guess ... the Floating Gardens, a restaurant Ric took me too, is something you’d like as well, very classy, high society, but pretty discreet and relaxed at the same time. Then all the rest of the royal treatment, it’s no different than Belgium in that aspect. Whatever you’d want if you came to visit, you could get it. Suddenly a dress was pushed into her arms, and Ellie found herself bombarded with clothes. This would be a long day, but she giggled from behind the pile, Okay ... give me five seconds to breathe. She took the clothes and went towards the back to the changing rooms, quickly slipping into the first dress Aubrey found, which was a bit shorter than she normally wore. Ellie emerged. What do you think? She bit her bottom lip, glancing down at the short hem, unused to wearing stuff like this.

Ok so Aubrey needed someone to talk to about Romeo and she knew that she could always trust Ellie so she went into every painful detail about the situation at hand. She talked about how hurtful it had been to walk in and catch a boyfriend cheating and then to be told by her father to marry him. It was just awful and she could not understand her father when he came to this decision. Even when she spoke to her father in the most logical manner possible he still told her no and when she whined he still refused her. No amount of pouting or sulking would get Aubrey her way. It really annoyed her that she could not just get her way on a subject like this, exspecially when she was right and her father was just being difficult. It got her blood pumping just to think about it so it was good taht she was moving around in the store. Although she was running around and grabbing stuff rather quickly.
While Ellie was trying stuff on she would force herself to calm down and focus on the girls day at hand. Romeo needed to be the furthest thing from her mind right now. Aubrey needed to focus on Ellie and make sure that she was being treated in the best manner possible. Right before they got married Aubrey told Ric that Ellie better be treated better than other Queen and she could tell that Ric was holding up to that promise. "Honey... you are one of us now. You are a future queen and don't worry I will make sure that no one does anything to you." She replied. It was uncharacteristic of her to offer protection to someone but Aubrey has a spot soft for her servant since Ellie knew her darkest secrets. Besides the Queens were so cut throat if you knew how to handle them and Aubrey knew how to handle them. She was the head of the Queens afterall.
Then Ellie said something that peaked her interest. "Ric's brother? Whats wrong with him? Did he do something?" She asked. "At least the family is welcoming. If they weren't then I would make sure that they knew who they were dealing with" She added and smiled sweetly as they spoke. Of course she would do it diplomatically but she would ahve made sure that Ric corrected things with his family for Aubrey's servant. Aubrey expected the best treatment, even for her servant.
"Well I will keep that in mind and I will probably visit you this summer before I head off to college. Are you and Ric going to college? Or does Ric have to take the throne" She asked since she needed to know. Aubrey needed to know anything and everything. Her diary was full of information and secrets, someone once said that if Aubrey was not a queen then she would have made a fantastic gossip columnist. "Hurry up." She said with a laugh before sitting down on the nearest bench. She tossed her hair over her shoulder as she waited for Ellie to finish up. Once she came out of the dressing room then Aubrey was up and inspecting the outfit.
"Really you should stand up straighter." She said in a light hearted tone. Right now she was not being critical but it was in her nature to expect perfection. "But I love it. Do you love it? Its definately in season and it looks great on you." She commented.

Having your boyfriend cheat on you wasn’t something that Ellie wanted for anyone, knowing just how hard it was from listening to Aubrey. Ellie had been so furious with Romeo the first couple of weeks, especially because right afterwards, it seemed, the arranged marriage had been announced, and the servant had been just as shocked about it as her employer. Ellie knew Aubrey had tried talking to her father about it, to get him to annul the arrangement, but to no avail, and it hurt her even more because she couldn’t really do much about it. She was, after all, only a servant, and they didn’t have that much to say in the lives of their royals, even if they’d wanted to. So she’d taken a different turn and made sure to always be there for Aubrey whenever and wherever the princess needed her, for whatever, even if it meant getting up at insane hours just to get everything ready for her. She could always sleep later when Aubrey didn’t need her or was off doing some political thing or the other which Ellie was unneeded for, and then she’d curl into a ball and sleep, but always be up before Aubrey got back so that she would be able to work on the next thing on the list. The princess had always been a busy girl, especially because of the fact that she would be Queen of Belgium one day, and that was enough pressure without the addition of the marriage. It made Ellie cringe just to think about it. Not everyone was as lucky as she and Ric, she knew, but then she couldn’t imagine having to marry Romeo for anything. The man was positively vile in her opinion, and too much of a player. Sure Aubrey might seem that way, but she certainly hadn’t cheated on the man!
Aubrey’s reassurance about the Queens pacified Ellie and relaxed her a bit more, and she sent the princess a smile, Thanks ... that means a lot. Especially because otherwise, the other girls would eat her for dinner. It wasn’t that she would be an embarrassment or anything, she just wasn’t as used to the limelight and the group of princesses as the others were. She hadn’t been among them openly before, always on the sidelines and in the shadows so she could keep an eye on Aubrey but keep out of their way as well. Aubrey seemed to jump on Nic’s case, and Ellie was quick to change her original statement, because she did NOT want to start anything right now, Oh no, of course not! I was just worried because he didn’t seem welcoming at first, but it turned out he was just shocked about it all, because it was going so fast. You know how it went, six months between engagement and marriage. And then in the next six months from that point, she would have been crowned, and still would be, except the prospect was much closer now and she knew she had Ric’s support and love, as he had hers. So things had changed a lot since then. Don’t worry, I like my new family, and I’m lucky enough they like me, so no need for an Aubrey intervention, she replied with a smile, touched that the princess would worry about her so much. It just went to show that Ellie had made the right decision in loving Aubrey like a sister through the years, and she still did. She counted her as a friend, which was more than most could say after all. At the prospect of Aubrey visiting, Ellie brightened up considerably, That would be amazing. Where’re you headed off to college, by the way? We never did talk about it. As for us, no, not really. I mean, Ric’s taking the throne as soon as we graduate, and I don’t know if he’ll have the time for any classes. They’ll let me sit in on some at the Mexican university though, so I guess I’m lucky. I’m thinking something to do with international relations or political science, but I’ll see how much time I have myself. That crown’s getting a lot closer to my head right now. And she shivered visibly at the thought, before she could control it. She was still scared of that, and she didn’t have to pretend to be brave around Aubrey. She never had to, except when Aubrey needed her to be strong for her. Right now though, Ellie was caught in the middle of a clothes hurricane, and she exited the dressing room with a small sigh. Her shoulders straightened and pushed back immediately as Aubrey spoke, and she smiled sheepishly. She was still used to being in the shadows and hunching to hide. Looking at herself in the mirror, Ellie angled her head, I’ts shorter than I’m used to though ... do you think it looks okay enough? I don’t want to break any protocol or etiquette code or something. If Aubrey thought it looked good though, then it was probably okay to wear out in public. She trusted the princess’ judgement more than she did her own on that right now.

At least graduation was right around the corner and then after that she would never have to see Romeo ever again unless it was in a political manner where she would be civilized. Once they were all kings and queens of thier countries then all interactions would be very civil with each other. It was nice to at least attend highschool together and establish enemies and friends before they were grown up, at least in Aubrey's mind it was a good idea. She knew that her and Viven would be best friends forever and Aubrey would be friends with Mexico because of Ellie. But what would the transition be like to college? Would people know who she was or would she jsut blend in with the rest of the student body? Of course that was a funny statement. Aubrey would never just blend in with a large group of people. She would always stand out even if it wasn't for being a princess but at least her fashion sense would get her notice and her work habits. Her professors would notice her for her ability to speak eight lanuages fluently and for her perfect grades. At least that was the plan for when she was at college.
This summer she would really need to prepare herself with a whole new updated wardobe and she needed to convince her parents to get her an apartment so she did not have to live in the nasty dorms. But then again this would all have to be put on hold until she could get out of her marriage. If she was married then of course she would have an apartment with Romeo, probably a two bedroom so she would not have to sleep anywhere near him. Or a three bedroom so his servant could have a room... or at least pretend to since obviously he would be with Aubrey most nights. He was the one boy to make her feel so special.
"Six months is pretty quick. I can understand why he would be shocked but he should still be welcoming of his new sister-in-law and queen." She reminded Ellie. At least Romeo's family had attempted to be welcoming to Aubrey at first. Then his sister told her the truth about her boyfriend and Aubrey was pissed. The Italians were probably laughing at her about that and it was at the point where his parents were just going through the motions. THis marriage was just a political move to ensure something that her father was not telling her. Obviously Italy was a bigger country with more money and a better army so it was good to stay on thier good side in case of war. But Belgium could hold its own in Aubrey's opinion. "College... I've been looking at Harvard. I mean my grades and stuff are good enough to get me in and I have been considering the pre-law major. Obviously Harvard would be the best place if I wanted to study law. But I did love the area around Yale but either way I assume my dad will want me to go to Harvard." She explained. The acceptance letter would be on its way soon so she would decide when she knew where she had been accpeted and then make her final decision. "International relations sounds like a fun major. I image you will do great at it since you have background information on most countries and thier future rulers."
Law had always been her passion and she might not get the chance to get her degree in law but she at least wanted to major in pre-law before she became queen. It would give her a better background in dealing with other countries. It might be better for her to study over in Europe but she did love the idea of remaining in the US and getting a semi normal college experience before she bcame queen.
At least Ellie knew to stand up a little straighter and not protest any of Aubrey's comments. She smiled and nodded. "Oh please... it reaches below your butt which means that it is perfectly fine. The people of Mexico need to know that you are young but you are still fashionable desite being a queen. They will not respect you if you wear dumping clothing that is not fashion foward." The press could be harsh on a queen as young as they were and Aubrey wanted to make sure that at least they would not critize her sense of fashion. A queen in her late teens was expected to dress as a highly refined teenager and that is the style of clothing that Aubrey was trying to get for her.
It was not anything skanky or super short but the girl had to look like a million dollars. The pearls and knee length skirts would be for when she was at a poltical meeting or charity but outside of those events she had to look her age. Aubrey always looked her age without looking like a skanky girl. It was a look that she prefected over the years. "Next outfit!"

She really had been worried about Nic and his reactions, there was no telling just what the younger prince of Mexico would have done, but luckily things had worked out to her advantage in the end. It wasn't something she could have predicted, but Ellie was always careful when it came to these things. There wasn't much she could do about it, regardless, but be kind and cordial towards him and make sure that he had everything he wanted if he asked for something. She didn't want to create problems though, and so she had been more than happy when Nic had been pretty welcoming in the end and there hadn't been any problems since. She had actually never imagined that she'd be this happy with anyone, but Ric was all she could have hoped for, all she could have dreamed of if she'd known what she wanted in the first place. But really, it had all just worked out more than perfectly, and she was pretty happy about that in itself. The last thing she wanted was to argue with her new family, or with Ric, but then her husband didn't seem like the type who would want to do something like that. He was too calm for it, and she wasn't really one to stomach much of an argument anyway, she'd never been, not even with Aubrey, and she'd pretty much been the only person to ever argue with the princess, if it had even been called an argument. There was the thing called diplomatic persuasion, and Ellie had used a lot of it during her time serving the princess, something that definitely came in handy in the long run because now she knew how to handle people more or less. If you cold get a hold of things around Aubrey, then you got a hold of other things easily enough, no problems, no questions asked. Which was why she was happy to have been lucky enough to be able to serve Aubrey for as long as she had, it had given her enough experience in the field.
Well you never know, not all people are alike, she replied with a small shrug of her shoulders, but I'm glad regardless. Gives me one less thing to worry about in the end. She didn't want to think about the Italian family, which was ultimately what popped up when she thought about husbands and future husbands. Ellie wondered whether the Italians knew just what was going on behind the scenes, not the sister of course, the one who had dropped the bomb on Aubrey, but her parents. She doubted it. Glad of the change of topic, Ellie listened to Aubrey as she explained her options, and she nodded, That sounds like something you'd enjoy, and I know you liked Harvard from when we went to visit last time ... or did you go to Harvard alone and I went with you to Yale? I know I didn't go with you to all of them, I was busy rearranging stuff here. But in any case, I bet whichever you choose, no matter which one your father thinks is best, you'll excell at it. I mean, you're probably the smartest person at Vineheart right now. It was an open-hearted praise, and Ellie meant it like that. There was no one smarter than Aubrey when she put her mind to it, that is. When talk turned to her own major, Ellie simply shrugged, I thought it would be good to do something related to politics if I want to help Ric in any way, and that's as good as any. Besides, like you said, I have a lot of information already. It just needed to be organized into neat piles. The piles turned to clothes as Ellie inspected the dress for herself once more, twisting to get a better view of the back, Yeah I know, I've just never worn anything this short, that's what I meant. You were always the one who was supposed to shine. I was just the other girl beside you. She shrugged her shoulders, but she did like the way the dress fitted her, it was better tailored than a lot of others she'd seen recently. Laughing when Aubrey demanded the next outfit, Ellie obliged and went to change. This dress was one-piece, one-shoulder, but it was tighter in clinging to her than the previous one, and obviously wasn't a dinner dress. It had no breathing room whatsoever. Okay, how do I look? she asked once she was out again, and she turned slowly for Aubrey's inspection.

In laws were an interesting group of people. Who knew if they liked you or if they were just being nice because they were forced to be. Aubrey could never really tell with the Italians since they were both nice to her but she could tell that they just needed to do it because of the alliance. Of course Aubrey spoke at legnth with Romeo's father and older brother about politics and how thier countries would interact but that was part of the formality of an arranged marriage. Everyone knew that Aubrey spoke well and so did the Italians, plus they liked that she would speak in thier lanuage with them. Of course she was fluent in Italian since that was a powerful country in the world. Her father made sure that she was well versed in every lanuage that she could be. Spanish, Italian, French, English, German, and she could get by in a few other lanuages to look polite. But still she assumed that her future in laws hated Aubrey since she was barely around or even involved with Romeo. Still there was an air of nervousiness around this wedding for both families since it was a big gain politicially for the tiny country of Belgium. Aubrey was nervous since she did not wish to be married to Romeo and she knew that it was time to work this out between them so they would no longer be husband and wife.
"That is true." She commented softly and quickly glanced down at her perfectly manicured nailed. There was a chip that she just noticed in one of them, which meant that Aubrey would be fixing that tonight. "I believe you went with me to Yale and my father went with me to Harvard since he really wanted to see the campus. But I did enjoy both campuses and I like the programs. So it will be a tough decision." She explained after Ellie finished speaking about the campuses. At least Ellie would have the oppurtunity to go to college while her husband ruled and Aubrey knew that college was always a good move at least in the public eye. The public expected someone ruling thier country to be well education and sometimes they weren't a fan of how young some of the royals were. However public image was key and Aubrey knew how to manipulate the camera to her advantage. Now if only she knew how to deal with the public image of her not marrying Romeo.
Then Ellie disappeared for another outfit and while she was gone Aubrey checked her phone. No new text messages and she sighed softly. Then she looked up to see another outfit and she smiled at her former servant. "Very nice. I definately like this one better than the last one. What do you think?" She asked as she inspected her servant again.

Ellie was lucky in the aspect that Ric’s family had accepted her so wholly from the moment that the arranged marriage had been put together. Actually, she’d been pretty terrified of them liking her TOO much, and then she’d have to live up to such high expectations that she’d fail. She was still a tiny bit afraid of her mother-in-law, but the Queen was so amazing to her and so charming, that really, all she could do was smile and agree with whatever she said, for whatever they wanted to do together. She was pretty sure that shopping for a graduation dress would eventually happen in Mexico City, just because she knew her mother-in-law would want to see her prior to that. And Ellie would want to see her as well, because she’d come to think of the Queen as kind of a mother as well, her own was so far away in Belgium all the time, and so she needed to start thinking in different ways. She did, however, not envy Aubrey the whole deal with her future in-laws, because well, let’s be practical – the Italian kids didn’t get their attitudes out of thin air. So Ellie didn’t want to think about a possible future there, because that would just be horrible for all of them. She was sure they were all polite – international relations and affairs did ask that of them, after all – but behind closed doors? Who knew what went on, and she certainly didn’t want to think of Aubrey as anything but happy. Marrying Romeo, she wouldn’t be happy at all, she knew that. Ellie just wished there was some way to help her more with her complicated situation. But unless the princess and prince Romeo sort of got together and worked their way out of this arranged marriage, there was no other way Ellie could see, short of an elopement Aubrey could stage.
Speaking about colleges took her mind off things though, and Ellie smiled when, as always, Aubrey made sure she knew exactly where she’d been and who she’d been with. The princess was perfect in that aspect, details were her forte. That sounds about right. But like I said, tough choice or not, whichever you choose will profit big time when you enrol there. She smiled in admiration and affection at her former employer and turned to take the other dress off the rack so she could try it on. She knew that she might have it a little easier, with her own schooling, given that it would be impossible, at least at the beginning, for her to attend classes anywhere but in Mexico. Maybe some time later, if she’d want and if situation would allow, she could perhaps do something else, but she thought that by that time, she would probably be really busy helping Ric run the country. And that would mean a lot to her as well. It took her a little longer to slip into this dress, but eventually she managed and smoothed it out before returning to Aubrey for inspection, and she smiled at the praise, Thank you – I like it better too. It fits me better, I think, it doesn’t make me feel frumpy or anything. Plus, the colour washed out her skin a little which could work to her advantage. Ellie didn’t necessarily want to look like a tanned idiot out from under UV rays. She turned once more for inspection. I think I’ll definitely take this one, I really like it. It felt good against her skin too, and she could feel her cheeks heating up a little when she thought of the possible situations she could wear it in. She definitely wanted to surprise Ric from time to time. Sure, she wanted to dress classy, obviously, but a little fun and flirty never hurt anyone, and she wanted her husband to appreciate the fact that he was married to her. Now that she knew she loved him, a lot of things had come into perspective for Ellie. Looking at Aubrey, Ellie worried her bottom lip a little bit. Aubrey ... how are things, you know, with you and ... Romeo? she asked after a moment’s hesitation, Are you – well, anything new about resolving the arranged marriage? She knew the Belgian princess would only marry Romeo at gunpoint.

A graduation dress for Aubrey had already been selected and created by the best designer in Belgium. It would be mailed to her in a couple of weeks so she could try it on and make any final alterations to it before the big day. Then there was her wedding dress that hung in her closet just staring at her and taunting her with evil thoughts. It was the dress of her dreams but she didn't want to look down at the alter and see Romeo just standing there. She had suggested to her boyfriend that he pull a switch with Romeo before they met at the alter so they could get married instead. But he didn't seem ready for marriage just yet and Aubrey couldn't blame him. Marriage was a big step for royals since it needed to involve both love and political benefits. Love was harder to come by than the political benefits since she knew that Belgium would gain a certain few by coming into an alliance with Italy. She knew all of the reasons and the benefits, as a result it felt like Aubrey was just being married for those. Well she would be Queen and she would not take this anymore.
College was at least a light at the end of the tunnel for her since once she was through this summer she would be at the college of her dreams and working hard to impress new people. "I know that I will suceed at whichever school I go to so I want a good culture that I can really get involved in. Plus I want easy access to come and visit you and Viv. A girl can't be without her best friends." Viven was definatley her best friend and she would consider Ellie to be a good friend too. One that she would travel to go and visit for the weekend if college was dull. Besides Mexico meant bikinis and vacation time while visiting even for the weekend. The sun was definately her friend and her enemy since she loved her pale skin but every girl needed a tan now and then. The one upside to the wedding was that her father planned a wonderful honeymoon on a private island. Maybe instead of Romeo she would take her boyfriend on that vacation. "Good. Now try on the next one." She loved just grabbing clothing and trying all of it on. But the Ellie brought up a more serious topic of conversation.
A flash of anger ran through her body at the mer mention of his name but she stayed calm and collected as they spoke. "You know that I just don't want to be around him or have anything to do with him. I know that we need to talk and we will but we haven't resolved it yet." There was the evil voice inside of her that wanted to make Romeo get to the wedding and then have him run out to humiliate his country and is family so he could feel the shame she felt when she caught him cheating. But at the same time she wanted a civil and logical way out of this marriage. "I suppose I should stop delaying and just give him a call but you understand that this is difficult for me."

The fact that Aubrey considered her to be among her best friends made Ellie smile brightly in the princess’ direction. It was so nice to be out shopping with her right now, just away from everything and everyone else and talking about everything and everyone. But the better part of everything was that she got to realise that Aubrey didn’t really feel vindictive or anything towards her or Ric due to their marriage and all of that. Well, then you’d better choose a college somewhere between Mexico and the States, since I won’t be staying here for much longer, she teased her gently, though she was thoroughly pleased about it all. But you know you don’t need to base your decision on where I’ll be. It’s not like I won’t come back to America at all, I’ll come visit you too. It won’t be the same without having you within speaking distance, you know. People often complained that Aubrey was definitely hard to work with, and Ellie agreed, but that didn’t mean she loved the girl any less for it. Actually, she loved her even more, just because she was a bit of a difficulty, and that had always presented a challenge to Ellie. She enjoyed challenges like that, like she enjoyed the prospect of being able to decorate the rooms she and Ric would eventually occupy as King and Queen, because Ric’s mother had already given her permission to do what she wanted with their living quarters to make them feel more at home. Of course she wouldn’t try anything too outlandish, but that didn’t mean she was just going to keep everything, she wanted some homey feel to it as well, and she’d talk to Ric about any possible changes before she made them anyway.
She laughed when Aubrey demanded she try the next dress, and she carefully selected one off the racks they’d chosen, this one was slightly longer train-wise and needed to be handled with more care. While she was changing dresses, she waited on baited breath to hear what Aubrey would have to say about the Romeo issue. Ellie just worried about the princess, especially after the cheating scandal Romeo had gone through and didn’t even seem remorseful about it. She didn’t know what it was about this year’s Kings, but they seemed to enjoy causing trouble whenever and wherever they could. It was a bit foolish in her opinion, and she was definitely glad that Ric wasn’t like that at all. She came back out in the lime green dress with the long train falling down one side of her body and down her leg, though she wasn’t really interested in the dress right now, but in what Aubrey had to say. I know that, Aubrey, and I’m sorry I brought it up, she apologized first thing, just to be on the safe side, but I’m just worried. It’s almost time for graduation. Which, in other words, meant it was almost time to be married. That would certainly not be something Aubrey wanted to do, she was sure. And I know that too, but the sooner you get this over with, the better I guess ... the longer you wait, the worse of an itch it’ll become. It’s just something you need to cancel and be done with it, I mean, they can’t really force you to say yes in front of everyone if you don’t want to. No one could make Aubrey do anything she didn’t want to, of that Ellie was sure, and she gave hr former employer an encouraging smile, I’d offer to give him a call for you, but this is probably something you should do alone, to make it work better ... but you know you can always talk to me, right? Even if I’m not your servant anymore. She didn’t want Aubrey to feel that things had changed too much between them, the girl needed friends and Vivien seemed to be dealing with a lot of her own problems right now, which was why Ellie wanted to be there for Aubrey as much as she possibly good at the time being. She was sure Ric would be proud of her, and that meant a lot to her as well, but in the end, this was about the Belgian princess and what she wanted to do, not what everyone else told her to, so Ellie couldn’t push the subject any further.

Never in a million years did Aubrey see herself socializing with as many servants as she did. When she first came to Vineheart she assumed that the servants would never interact with the Royals but was she wrong about that. Now she was refering to her servant as her friend and borderline best friend. Only borderline since Viven was still her best friend in this entire world. That much could not be argued since they had known each other since about 4 years old. They jsut connected and she knew that they would have a strong polticial alliance once they both received their crowns. She wondered if Viven's twin would end up married to Romeo in the end? That would be sort of funny since Aubrey was best friends with her twin and hated both Romeo and his girlfriend. "Oh I am not baseing my descision off of you. I was just commenting that it would be nice to come and visit you over the weekends when college has become cold and dull. You know how the snow and I do not get along very well." She explained. Aubrey liked the snow but she only liked a couple of inches of it. Anything more than 5 inches was too much and would ruin her shoes. As a child she often refused to come outside and play in the snow with her younger siblings for fear that she would be cold and wet. The cold she could deal with but being wet just sounded awful to her. Aubrey was a true princess in every sense of the word.
She was determined to put her country on the map and make sure that no one messed with it or else they would face the consequences. For example if Italy ever went to war with another country then Aubrey would gladly join in and supply the other country with whatever they needed to suceed. But that was just her revengeful side taking over, although she had calmed it down after spreading the rumors about Romeo. Bitch did not even begin to describe her actions towards him in the weeks after the scandal broke out. But it was over now and she knew that it was time to let the past go. Aubrey needed to move on and she needed to do it quickly.
Her former servants concerns were valid and she was secretly thankful to have the girl around for conversation about this delicate issue but she was not a baby. Aubrey could stand up for herself and call Romeo by herself. "Thanks for your concern Ellie. But you need to focus on your duties as a wife until I steal you away for a girl's weekend. I've decided to turn the honeymoon I was supposed to go on into a girls vacation for some sun tanning and post graduation fun." She explained. It sounded like a much better idea then sitting in a room with Romeo and pretending to consumate thier marriage. "But yes graduation is coming up quickly."
It was coming quickly and Aubrey had yet to decide on college. She had yet to make any important life plans for after her graduation and girl's vacation. Of course her summer would be spent with friends and with her father. "Ellie... you know that I will say yes since it will benefit my country. I will marry Romeo if we can not get out of this because I know my duty as Queen. Romeo knows this as well and we will find a way out. Now relax... I will call him tonight"
The idea of calling him sounded just awful so maybe jsut a text message in responce to all of the ones that he had given her. Then she listened as Ellie offered her a friendship involving an ear to listen to her problems and she smiled. "Of course I will come to you if I have any problems and want to talk. You know the whole situation better than anyone else and I do trust you." She replied and quickly fixed her hair when she glanced back into a mirror.
