Kiss me. Infect me with your love.
&& Fill me with your poison.
Stepping off the plane in California. Again. This time was different though. Last time, he was here to meet a girl from online, and he didn’t know what to expect. They were pleasantly surprised by each other, and they had a great deal of fun. But shortly after the fun ended, this girl – Alex – started seeing someone else. But, not so long after that, she found herself in a predicament and alone. Nathan had been friends with her the entire time, and he knew what it was like to be alone and not know what to do. So he decided to pay her another visit.
He got off of the plane and got into his rental car, and then headed straight for the grocery store. He knew exactly what she was going to need, from when Klara and her ex-boyfriend Patrick (that Nathan not so lovingly called ‘that fucking pig’) broke up. Nathan headed into the store and went straight for the ice cream section. He grabbed about 6 of the little pint sized ones, in separate flavours. He chose Ben & Jerry’s, which was his favourite brand because, unless there were peanuts IN the ice cream flavour, they weren’t manufactured anywhere near peanuts (he’s allergic to those beasts). He grabbed a couple bottles of whipped cream, and then grabbed some chips, soda, and popcorn. After paying for everything, he headed out to the car, and then shot her a text that he was on the way.
He checked his bag to make sure all of his break-up DVDs were in his bag, and then he started off towards her place. When he pulled into the parking spot, he thought about the last time that he was there. He and Alex had been fooling around quite a bit, and it was the only place they could go to be alone, even though her roommates lived there. They had been lucky enough for the roommates to not be home, but when things got heavy, Nathan’s wedding ring was staring him in the face. He stopped before things went too far, and he felt horribly. But, in Nathan’s mind, he was still married.
At any rate, he was not angry or upset with the way things went with Alex. They remained friends afterwards, and that friendship is why he had to come visit her. When it came to Nathan and his friends, he didn’t have to rearrange his schedule for them – he had no schedule. His friends came first.
