Such a lie, what was I thinking?
The drinking thing had actually been something that had not been characteristic of him up until the summer before last year; when the first arranged marriage had come about and been the first of several events to push him in that direction. Every time he had known it was a bad decision, always promising that it would not be repeated but of course it eventually ended up reoccurring later on. He was going to have to break this habit and very soon, he knew it. After all drunkard kings never lasted and well now that he was realizing the importance of the whole ruling thing, he knew it was something he had to step up an do. Thinking about stepping down would never do him any good since he would have been entirely lost from everything he had been raised with from the start. For him it was not very much of a realistic idea yet it had come to mind while thinking of Rylie, who indirectly had lead him to crazy ideas that she would never know of as they were very immature and not very well developed plans. While these plans were no longer as consistent as before, the occasional one would pop into his head but after that be diminished as he knew that right now there was no use in dealing with this as it was not worth it since she was not going to hear him out about it after her own argument. But of course he had not completely given up hope, otherwise he would not have acted with her the way he had last night. Well he did tend to be friendly with some girls while drunk, the case that she explained seemed different to him though and he was not so bothered by it so much as the fact of how she would view this. At least it did not sound like he had tried to get into her pants the night before which was a very good thing as then he was absolutely sure that that would have made things so awkward that it was difficult to imagine. So as for what he had heard so far, last night had not resulted in a fate similar to the apocalypse for him, so this was good. A little over dramatic one might think, but really had he done something wrong the night before whether it had been to the entire public and the humiliation of his country had been at stake or that he had caused Rylie to be irritated with him, he was not sure how it would ultimately result for him. Definitely not in a good way.
Speaking wasn't his best idea as depending on how he enunciated certain words, it did tend to hurt so therefore he was a bit more selective as he spoke which he was sure looked funny as even he was able to tell that it sounded off but he did want to make sure things were clear as she could help make them as he did not want to be completely in the dark about whatever it had been that had happened. He preferred it that if he were to make the gossip columns, he would at least know slightly about what happened so therefore he could defend himself from the lies that generally got mixed in.He glanced up when she brought up that the German princess did not look that mad which was a bit of relief but still he had no clue what might have happened. That would come around to him sooner or later seeing as such things got out easily. Before she had informed him of what had happened between them, he had noticed the bit of nerves that she seemed to have which had had him concerned until hearing what it was. Nothing big at least, was it? Sure it was not normal for most servants and royals, nor was it normal for them but it was not too big of a deal. They would get over it, bounce back and forth between awkward and ordinary or whatever it was they did. But he could not help but wonder how this was going to affect her and waited to see how she reacted to it herself before actually deciding to speak upon the matter itself. But as he heard her utter that she did not regret this, softened expression came across his own features as this yet again brought them back to that fork in the road that they had attempted to avoid so many times but it always reappeared. Noticing her looking at the ground, he did not want to allow this and quickly rose to take the few steps to the couch and sit beside her so he was turned to face her. Fingers gently lifted her chin until eyes were level with his and small smile crossed over his lips. I don't regret it either. Hell, I'd get bruises more often if it meant I could kiss you. He chuckled lightly and slowly recoiled, having a feeling the last comment may have been a bit too much.Nodding slowly, he flashed her a genuine smile as she stated she wanted to be the one he felt as though he could rely on. Essentially, this was how he felt but at the same time no as he did not want to go to her and just tell her exactly how pathetic he felt about the way he reacted with emotions as he figured it would be too much for the two of them to bear. As she moved to go get ice, he nodded and then went back to sitting on his bed as he thought this might be a bit more appropriate due to the whole idea of personal space. Waiting for her, hands were massaging his temples as he still was feeling rather terrible. When she returned, he smiled and took the ice to press it lightly to his jaw with a grimace until it starting numbing. Thanks. He mumbled quietly, frowning when he heard her speak up and realized what she was saying. You don't have to leave. I mean, you can if you want; I just don't have any plans. He stated with a small shrug, not wanting her to go as he still enjoyed her company but not wanting to keep her from schoolwork or whatever she might need to do. Silently it was preferred that she would stay though he would not force her to. Is there anything you need help with, for the trip? He asked quietly, wanting to double check that things were going alright in that direction. The time was going fast and now it looked as though they would be leaving in only a matter of days.

could last f o r e v e r, lets make it last forever.
She had not known Bentley well enough or for long enough to really judge on whether or not she should be concerned that he had been drinking and lately it seemed to turn into a disaster when it happened, there were a lot of people that were out and drinking on the weekends but something always seemed to happen when it was him first of all he had called her to come and pick him up the first time and he had been there alone and the Swiss prince had left him to find his own way home when she was almost positive that he would not have been able to find his way out of a cardboard box. Then this time apparently where he had done something to piss the German princess off enough that she would punch him, she did now know Pirzi and what made the girl tick but she did not seem as high maintenance as the rest of the popular crowd which consisted of the Queens, she seemed much more laid back than that. She was simply worried but she also knew that he had a lot going on, with the arranged marriages, the one that he had told her about before the summer and the fact that his mother had tried it yet again over the summer to the girl in question. Perhaps he had brought up something that was a sore subject between the two of them in relation to the arranged marriage. With a small sigh her attention was placed on him and the nervousness between them seemed to hit a new high and it was clear that he did not know what to think of what had happened the night before, there was going to need to be a little investigation of what really had happened while he had been at the Ice Box in order to know what happened.
Even when he had been very intoxicated she had been surprised that he had been a complete gentleman and that was what had led her to believe that he might have actually remember what had gone on the night before but it was clear that he did not have a clue. She could not help herself when she stated that she did not regret the night before, there was no use in her lying anymore since look at where it had gotten her, she had been so miserable when she had been forced to not be around him. It had driven her insane and the two needed to be closer than that if she was going to do her best in keeping an eye on him and making sure that he was going to be alright and she also knew that in not too long from now that they were going to be leaving for France and therefore they were going to be expected to look like a couple. They better get back to looking like this and getting used to it. What she did not expect when she had told him that she did not regret the night before was for him to jump down from where he had been sitting on his bed and crouch in front of her to cause her to lift her eyes until they were met by soft brown eyes enough to make ever resolve that she struggled with disappear and leave her completely unguarded though she was not feeling like that was a bad thing. She could not help the smile that crossed her own lips as she did not remove her eyes from his. She laughed lightly at the comment. As long as the bruises are not from you upsetting other possible allies. She uttered. He moved back to where he had been sitting on the bed and she watched him as he nodded at the last part of her statement before she excused herself to go and get the ice that he needed for his jaw. After passing it to him she sat back down on the couch and asked him if he wanted her to leave. She did not know if he had plans for the day but she did not want to get in the way and certainly did not want to tip the scales back to awkward between the two of them since she had thoroughly enjoyed what had happened last night.
He thanked her when she handed him the ice pack and then uttered that she did not have to leave but she could if she wanted, she did not hesitate in then sitting back down on the couch, it seemed strategically placed, far enough away that she did not feel like she was in his personal space especially not his bed and not far enough away to be awkward. She had learnt to like this couch. She relaxed back against the cushions to where she was feeling rather comfortable. He asked her if there was anything that she needed help with before the trip and she shrugged lightly. Je pense que tout sera juste fin. She uttered in fluent French with a small smile. She knew that she had done enough preparation that she was confident that everything was going to be fine, as long as everything went according to plan that was but she was not going to worry about that now. Unless there is more that you think I should know, in which case, feel free to teach me. She finished.

Such a lie, what was I thinking?
The drinking thing had progressed seemingly every time it had happened and he knew that while it had not been too serious in the beginning it could become so at a rapid pace and once again he swore to himself that it would not be allowed to happen again as it was not at all good for him. If he had issues he would have to solve them in other ways, but in ways that were more practical. One many scales drinking like this was not something he could afford and this was going to be used to remind him what could become of such behavior. Becoming king was approaching faster than he realized because university years would probably fly by after the end of this year and then after that would be coronation time which made him very nervous as it was a very large undertaking. A lot was added in with that as well so unless he went about and found himself a princess, he was going to be subject to more arranged marriages so therefore he needed to bide his time with that somehow. The trip to France was a way that he hoped would work as well since his mother had been pleased with the pictures when she had been informed it was a princess of some nonexistent country which she would probably not find out about. His mother was a prime example in his mind of how just about anyone could assist in ruling a country though clearly there were many people who did it for her. She was simply nothing more than a puppet in his mind as there was an entire network of people who saw to what she was supposed to do. With this said, he still had no doubt that Rylie could pull off the role of being a princess indeed. There was not much to master as she already had the majority of it down from their first lesson as it was and so now he was feeling extremely confident on this matter.
Sooner or later there was bound to be a confrontation between Bentley and at least one of the German Royals as he was certain that this would not just pass over with them seeing as he knew for a fact that Xavier and his twin sister were indeed very close and he was sure Marie would hear of this as well. That was a bridge to be crossed when it came about though, nothing to do about it right now. After finding out what had happened with Rylie, it was this that worried him the most as he was concerned it would only complicate them even worse which was not something he wanted. However, it appeared to have the opposite effect as they met one another's eyes without the least bit of hesitation as he moved closer to keep her eyes off the floor. She did not regret this which caused a flutter of hope in his stomach as he only felt the same otherwise the part that he had been drunk and only had the boldness to cross back then. For him it was a relief to hear her laugh easily at his comment as well as smile which they were both doing effortlessly yet again and this was a rewarding feeling within itself. Again he chuckled as she teased him that the bruises could not come from other possible allies. I suppose that is fair enough. He stated lightly, glad that this felt so uncomplicated and simple right now as he hated it when it was anything else. It bothered him immensely when they were not on good terms and acting like strangers to one another in comparison to how they usually were.Knowing the possible potential between them was what made it so bothersome for him as it was so easy to be reminded of how they had been in the start.
Wanting to think of an appropriate reason for her to stay, he was relieved as she sat on the couch on her own terms and it was nice to see that she did not seem to be in a hurry to get away from him. So truly it had not offended her at all, it was just not allowed to be a regular occurrence. Finally he decided upon asking her if she wanted to know anything else for their upcoming trip and a brow arched in surprise as she started rattling off perfectly in French. Small smile played upon his lips at this as he was truly impressed. Surperformante. [Overachiever.] He teased in turn with a small rolling of his eyes. Impressive, very impressive. He uttered thoughtfully with a small wink in her direction. Now he could see that she looked entirely confident in this and there was no longer the apprehensiveness of before or at least she was masking it to perfection, but he was perfectly fooled if it was the latter case. Silent for a moment as he thought, shrug then overtook his shoulders as he had failed to come up with anything. Nothing that I can think of now, but I will definitely let you know if I am able to think of something. He stated gently with a small smile.
