Bulgaria was his home country, that was true, but he didn't spend a lot of time there, or well, he hadn't this summer. Previously he'd always been all around with car or plane or whatever, but this summer he'd actually been out of state. Well Pirzi had come to visit him for a week or so and that had definitely been a highlight, but now that he looked back over everything, he was shocked to realize he'd actually flown after a girl most of the summer. It wasnt a negative feeling though, just a revelation. Sergej didn't worry about things, not unless they seemed to be bordering on catastrophe, and since this was far from it, he saw no reason to think about it more than was necessary. She'd had a good time in Bulgaria and that was all that really mattered. He, for his part, had definitely enjoyed his stay in Germany, although the whole announcement of an aranged marriage hadn't really helped him much.
He'd actually been surprised at the surge of jealousy coursing through him at leaked rumours. That, and the fact that Xavier himself seemed to have pushed Pirzi onto the fastest plane out of her own country. Sergej knew enough about family relations to know there had had to have been a fight somewhere down the road, and since Germany later pulled out of the annual dressage competition - meaning Xavier and Tornado weren't present in Paris as every year before - he was sure something had gone down, even if no one really told him much. But there were things you couldn't hide and well, this was one of them. He couldn't help but feel relief when Pirzi was free again, to be with whoever she wanted. He knew he was being selfish about this, given that he seemed to be said person, and he definitely wasn't about to complain. His parents hadn't started bugging him either, not yet at least, so he was safe from any arranged marriage nonsense. Then again, the Bulgarian children were different in temperaments than most.
At her question, Sergej shook his head, "Not really, no. I might've passed it once or twice. Lead on." He smiled when she kissed his cheek and caught her hand in his when they fell in-stride together to walk along the road towards the bakery she was talking about. Sergej had often come down this lane before, but usually not in the day time, so he didn't have any idea about general orientation and what stores were here, sadly. He would probably explore a lot more this year, given that he was a fourth-year student and all, but he sure hoped Mira would let him out of her sight. His sister could try and be possessively controlling from time to time, and since she'd been passive, surprisingly so, all summer, Sergej had a feeling something was going to go off soon. Another ticking time bomb.
He pulled Pirzi closer against his side as they walked, sighing slightly in content. He was definitely enjoying himself. He could now see the sign of the bakery as well as she did. "Nice," he commented, "what'd you do in your free time? Look around for small holes?" But he was smilin as he said it and definitely joking. He opened the door and let her pass inside before he closed the outside world from the both of them again. "So how's the new house then?" he asked in a quiet voice, keeping with the scenery, "All settled in and functioning normally yet?"

so be here by my side and watch the stars* make a wish or just take charge
It was amazing just how adaptable it was possible to be since she now saw both Germany and Montana as her homes, while she was in Montana she felt as though she was used to the American culture and for the most part she tended to be used to the food as well though she was partial to the small restaurants that tended to provide either home cooked meals or ones that were traditionally European food, just out of preference. Italian food had always been high on her list as she loved pasta and one of her favorite places along the strip was a small Italian restaurant. She knew that the two of them both had a good time when they were in Bulgaria which was nice since it was a place that she had never been before and she would love to go back to sometime even if she had been a little terrified the whole time to run into his sister not knowing what the girl would ever say if she was seen with her brother, though she did try to tell herself that she was being ridiculous and that it really did not matter what Mira thought and that it was not going to change what she felt in regards to Sergej. Germany was not something that she even wanted to think about so she did not even let her thoughts wandering knowing that it was only going to bother her since she was starting to feel guilty about not talking to her mother for so long but yet there was still something that was holding her back from making amends. Perhaps it was the fact that she had not learnt her lesson and she had just found out that her younger sister was a part of another arranged marriage and one that the girl seemed able to accept even though Pirzi wanted her to fight it, not because she did not like the person it was to but the fact that Luna had never had the choice and she was so young and had her whole life ahead of her and she was going to be permanently tied to this one person without even any knowledge of what it could have been like being with or dating someone else. She supposed that she felt though that her standing up to her mother did not even tend to deter the Queen even a little and therefore her fight and Xavier’s fight with her had been for nothing but that was not all that true because she was free of the older woman’s clutches.
He told her to lead on as she stepped closer to him to place a kiss on his cheek and this caused him to smile before taking her hand and their fingers were entwined as they walked. A lot of the time that she had jogging when she had been in later years of Vineheart she had always tried her best to find new places to do so since she tended to get bored of staring at the same scenery over and over again on her outings so last year she had taken to jogging around the small town of Rexford so certain things tended to catch her attention and this small bakery was one of them. She was pulled closer to him when they reached the small building and she reveled in this feeling with a broad smile and pleasant expression that crossed her face and remained permanently there. I got bored of jogging around Vineheart last year so I came here and jogged around the city a lot, I noticed a couple places. She stated with a small chuckle. Thanks She uttered gently as he held the door open for the two of them and she stepped lightly into the building. There were a few people within the confines of inside they were sitting huddled around a couple different tables looking as though they were college age and were all studying in pairs. They did not even look up as the two walked in and this was something that she tended to enjoy about this place as well as the restaurant in Germany where she had taken him there was something about it that caused the people that went there to not even notice that the people who walked in were of Royal heritage. The smell of fresh baking was intoxicating and made it impossible not to get one of their baked goods even if you just came for their coffee. She had never acquired the taste for the massive amount of caffeine though and never was a coffee drinker, though they did make the best blended strawberry lemonade that she tried to get every time she was here. He asked her how living in the house was and this caused her to smile. Wonderful. I really enjoy it. I don’t see them too much because whenever Frida and Beau are not at school they are off doing coupley things and Marie spends a lot of her time trying to keep busy but it’s nice to be around them. As they stepped up the counter she turned to whisper to him with a smirk. Good thing I dance or I would be eight hundred pounds, I was just here with Max last week. She told him and continued on the way to the counter where the cashier asked her what she would like and she ordered a strawberry lemonade which was traditional as well as a chocolate croissant. Both of which were her favourites. After he made his order he was not even given the option as she already had her wallet out and paid for both of them before stepping back to wait for their food to be brought up at the other end, she was already thinking of where would be nice to sit and settled on the idea of outside since it was peaceful and quiet and it was only going to be a limited amount of time that it was warm enough to do so.

He would have loved to spend more time in Germany if he was honest with himself. Sergej knew that Tarti probably didn't consider anyone who wasn't a potential suitor for her children welcome, or that was the gist he'd caught through it all, but Anselm himelf had invited him to stay with them the first time around, even after the little embarassing incident after the performance, so he had to count for something right? Actually, he would most probably drop a surprise visit to the country if Pirzi went there at some point, that might make her happy. She did a lot for him and he hoped it would all be worth it in the end. Of course you could never really know unless you tried it out, but Sergej as determined to do things for Pirzi, just as she did small things for him.
His thoughts flew to Germany again as they walked to the small bakery, to that restaurant she'd taken him to after the parade. It had been an amazing time, the scenery was just perfect with the river running close-by and the small, homey feel to it all, the soft lighting and the music. The red dress she'd worn was obviously etched into his thoughts as well, sure black suited her but he thought she should play up the eyes a little bit outside the dance competitions as well. She had a gorgeous figure and her golden hair and teal eyes just made for the perfect combination, in his opinion. Of course he would've been too forward to actually announce that out loud right now, so he stored the thought for later on when he would actually have a good reason to say it. Mira would be having a fit of laugh when and if she ever got wind of this, the way his thought processes worked right now.
He humored her though when she spoke about jogging. "You're way too sporty for me, I feel lazy whenever you start talking about what you're up to," he joked, shaking his head. Obviously he played some sports as well next to polo, and even for polo you had to have some muscle tishue so you could both control the horse and hit the ball at the same time. Not much, definitely not like a wrestler or anything, but he'd already seen weaker riders being thrown off their horses because they couldn't hang on to them or missing the ball because the pony went by it too fast with them being unable to slow it down. Sergej was subtly-muscles, he wasn't as obviously bulky in build like Pirzi's older brother, he was leaner, but that didn't mean he was any less strong ... and his level of manipulation was higher than Xavier's by far.
He waited for her to place her order and then ordered hot chocolate for himself and a simple bagel, he didn't really feel hungry or anything, but he knew that his stomach would probably start complaining soon. She beat him to the punch by paying, and he rolled his eyes, stepping close enough to wrap an arm around her waist and kiss her cheek. "You're babying me - do you do that to your brothers too?" He smiled. Listening to her explain how things were in the house, he frowned ever so slightly."Beau and Frida are a couple? I didn't know that." What she said next made him laugh softly and kiss her temple in obvious affection. "I highly doubt it. Regardless, you'd still be beautiful." Their order was placed out then and he took it, motioning back outside, "It's stuffy in here."

so be here by my side and watch the stars* make a wish or just take charge
Of course she knew that her mother was hard to deal with and had not even paid attention to Sergej while he had been there in the summer since she felt that it was Anselm that had invited the Prince and she had been busy trying to destruct her daughters life after all there was no time for a breather and to be more than just polite to a person that was visiting the country and one day they could need as an ally. Bulgaria and Germany did not have too much to do with one another so it was something that was almost like a clean slate seeing as until the last part of the year she had not even talked to Sergej but her mother was too busy on other ends trying her best to make sure that things did not fall apart at the last minute though it had not been to her success and this made her own daughter smile at the thought. This time and one of the only times that she did enjoy seeing her mother fail when normally she would have at least had a small part of her that felt bad for the foiled attempt but there had been a line crossed and the damage was not as easy to undo this time as it had been the times before. Especually since it was not the first time that something like this had failed with her and now she saw that it was not going to be the last either. She feared for the fact that Max was going to have to tell her about Amelia soon as it did not seem fair to drag a girl so young into the family and did not seem fair that Tarti was going to think that she had every right to order the young princess around in the same way she had done her own children. She did not know what Max had planned for when that time came but she did know that no matter what she was going to have his back on it.
Everything that she had done such as the small little scavenger hunt in Germany was worth it to her, as long as it made the Bulgarian prince smile then it was always worth it she loved being able to make him smile and laugh and there was nothing like it for her. The good feeling that it gave her was almost comparable to when she was able to cheer her own brothers up. She could not hide the smile that crossed her face when he announced that she seemed to find all the smallest hole in the wall places and she knew that it was something that she was known for, after all she did not like big crowds when she was to be eating and did not like the busy and loud atmosphere of the popular restaurants since meal times were when she did get to see her family and friends a lot more and therefore wanted to be able to talk and spend some time with them without the tension that tended to follow her around the rest of the day. She needed a break, everyone did, so she tended to stick to the ones that were a little more out of the way where she did not have to worry about either the gossip blog of people noticing that she was the eldest Princess of Germany and where she was not going to have to worry about acting like anyone but herself. She laughed when he told her that she made him feel lazy and eyes were rolled dramatically. You are very far from lazy. I just tend to be a little excessive sometimes. She responded. She was well aware that there was a lot of conditioning that went into playing polo since it was definitely not an easy feat to be able to maneuver a horse around the field while chasing a ball and pursuing the other horses and riders at the same time. While Xavier tended to be a little more bulky she was easily able to tell that Sergej was more the cunning type that would be able to talk himself out of any problem he got himself into, or at least avoid it.
She could not help but think of the first dance practice that they had together when he ordered the hot chocolate since they had gone for breakfast and hot chocolate afterwards and it was then that she learnt that she really enjoyed talking to him and enjoyed being around him though it had been awhile after that before she even came to terms with it enough to admit it to herself that she was thinking of him as more than a friend. Innocent expression was plastered to her face as she beat him to paying and pretended that she did not even notice the fact that he was standing there and rolling his eyes at her. It did not take long for him to step closer to her and wrap an arm around her waist and kiss her gently on the cheek. He commented that she was babying him and she shrugged. Sometimes, when they allow me. Though that does not tend to be very often. Everyone needs someone to baby them though. As they stood there waiting for their order she leaned closer to him and rested her head against the front of his shoulder before responding to the next question about the house. He told her that he did not realize that Beau and Frida were a couple. I only found out at the very end of last year when he sent her flowers and they were in our dorm and interrogated her, at that time though nothing was official but I guess over the summer it changed. I am quite glad though since Beau is a very nice guy and Frida seems happy. She found that it did not matter to her that Beau was a servant as long as he treated her friend the way she deserved it she was not like a lot of the other people in Vineheart that would look down on it in fact she preferred it seeing as Beau was a much more genuine person than most of the Royals around. She laughed yet again when he commented that she would still be beautiful regardless and eyes were rolled and she shuddered at the thought dancing was far too important to her to ever allow that to happen. Well thank you, but I don’t think my dance instructor would think the same way when my partner would not even be able to lift me off the ground. She commented and nodded when he said that it was stuffy on the inside of the building, all the baking seemed to raise the temperature significantly so she walked with him to where there were a couple tables set up outside on the side of the street. The street was so quiet and not a single car passed as she sat in one of the plastic lawn chairs and glanced over at him. So how is chess going? She asked gently and casually.

When it came to the girl he seemed to be spending more and more time with, excess was definitely an understatement. Pirzi did everything in big doses, no matter what she undertook, he'd realized that by now. Sergej didn't know how she coped with everything, but he thought she was defintiely doing a good job with it. For his part, he was sure he wouldn't have been able to go through with half the stuff she pulled, simply because he would run out of time. Maybe it was because he'd never really had a schedule that was as full as her own. Whatever he did, he did because he liked it, but in moderation. Unlike her, he didn't spend most of his time in various after classes, because well, he liked just lying down and doing nothing. Pirzi didn't seem to be a girl who ever stopped. Maybe he could persuade her, somehow, to be lazy with him one day.
She would probably feel bad though. She seemed like someone who had to work and work and work to keep herself sane, but truth be told Sergej was going to start worrying about her once her uni classes really picked up. He'd been casually flicking through various websites and curriculums, and he knew that some programmes could definitely heat things up after the first month or so. He was sure she would know how to take care of herself, but he was still worried she would just burn out at some point. There were limits to every human being, and with all the running around from one place to the other that she kept doing, he was sure she was bound to just fall asleep at some point without even knowing it. And he, without knowing it either, was actually starting to care enough to worry. It would have been something to think about if he weren't too caught up in her at the moment.
"I still feel lazy, regardless," he told her with a smile. "And well, I bet Xavier has a thing or two to say whenever you want to baby him. He didn't look like someone who would like that to me while he was at Vineheart." There was a little awe in his voice whenever he spoke about Pirzi's older brother. To Sergej, Xavier was the symbol of everything he wanted to become himself, and possibly never would. He was just the untouchable and untamable future King of Germany. Sergej could easily imagine him leading a council or something, or making quick decisions if he had to. He wondered how similar Pirzi was to Xavier in that aspect. "If you don't do it frequently, I think I'll enjoy being babied by you though," he added as an afterthought, smiling at her and lightly resting his chin atop her head when she snuggled close to him.
Walking out into the cool, but not cold night air, Sergej chuckled. "Well, your dance partner would just have to learn to deal with lifting some more. Big whoop." He put their orders down and took a seat opposite her, his knee touching hers under the table. He was happy for Beau and Frida, he thought so at least; everyone deserved their chance of love. At Pirzi's question, he shrugged his shoulders, surprised she even remembered. Chess wasn't that important, really. "The usual. I'm just glad Aubrey or any of the Queens aren't in that club. I'd probably go mental. I lost that duel I was telling you about, by about a move. There's a rematch next Tuesday." While some people laughed at chess, Sergej found it the perfect example of thinking through everything and anticipating your opponent's moves. He was honing his mind while playing it - something he was sure he would need in the future.

so be here by my side and watch the stars* make a wish or just take charge
She knew that in the coming next little while she was going to have to rethink what she was doing when it started to get a little too much stress for her, she knew that dancing, university, spending time with her friends, working out and jogging and seeing Sergej was going to end up being too much and there was going to be a time and a place where she was going to have to take a step back and prioritize what was the most important in all of that and perhaps work on making it so that she did not spread herself too thin. She did not want to have a mental breakdown like she knew a lot of people her age seemed to have when the world seemed too big and that there were way too many things that needed to be done and not enough hours to do them. She was too smart for that and she knew that there was a way that she was going to be able to make sure that the important things were not going to get neglected. She knew that Ziggy was willing to help her no matter what it took and even though what he was able to do was limited seeing as there was no way for her to be in two places at once it did help to know that he was there for her when she needed it though at the same time she did not allow herself to rely on anyone but herself for the essentials. She had always had the mentality of; if you want something done a specific way you do it yourself. So he was essentially causing her to adapt a little though she was finding that she was not minding and that it was nice to have his company when the others were not home and he did try his best to make sure that everything went smoothly and a couple times she he had even caught things that she had been almost forgetting about and put her back on track. At the same time she was aware that he had not been reporting to her mother which was also nice as she was feeling as though she was starting to be able to trust him, but he had only been around for the last two weeks and it would take a lot more time before he would be allowed into the trusted inner circle she kept her close friends and her brothers in. At the same time; she was busy a lot of the time and her life tended to be dependent on the stimulation but she did enjoy the few times where she allowed herself a day off and made sure that if it was one of those days that she did not get involved in anything that was too strenuous, the best memories of that she had were back in Germany and it was around Christmas time where everything seemed to halt a little more and she would curl up in front of the fireplace with a good book. There was nothing wrong with days like that, that was for sure. From the times where they started to get a lot closer she had always cared about him, and found that she was worrying about him for the affects of the three older boys in the Kings were going to have over him. Worrying about people though was just natural for her no matter who they were so this was not a cause for her to take as step back and look at this any differently. When he commented that he was sure that Xavier had a lot to say about her trying to baby him she shrugged gently. My brother is significantly different around me. She uttered and knew that it was true since he put up with a lot more things around his twin and then he normally would with anyone else. Though she did not try to use this to her advantage since that was not the way that she was. Just being close to him was something that she enjoyed and could not help the warm feeling that settled in her stomach as she stood there with him, his chin resting on the top of her head. While she was tall she was very glad that he was quite a bit taller than her and she seemed to fit comfortably with him. He commented that as long as it was not too frequent that he would not mind her babying him and this provoked a small smile from her even though he was not able to see it since they were so close. Good, that sounds like a deal. She was the type of person to always make sure that someone knew how she was feeling about them, it was important to her that her family always knew that she loved them in case something ever happened and the small things she did tended to show them this and be a small subtle reminder in hopes to brighten their day, such as the care package that had been sent to X when he arrived in Dartmouth. Now that she was realizing that she cared for Sergej, he was also now going to fall under the category of people that she saw essential to make sure never doubted her feelings. Their knees touched under the table as they sat and she turned her attention on the lemonade for a moment to sip the drink from the glass, it proved to be just the right decision of order and she decided that there was nothing that could make this night more perfect. She nodded when he told her that he was glad that Aubrey or the rest of the Queens were not in that group and that was understandable to her seeing as they were a pain in the ass on a good day. He stated that he had lost the match that the two of them had been talking about over texts and she nodded. Can’t always win I suppose. She stated nonchalantly with a shrug, Though, I am sure next time you will. A small smile crossed her face knowing the determined nature of the boy in front of her, losing would only make him step up his game even more so.
