Characters

• Once you reserve or start an application you have one week to finish it. After that it will be moved to the declined folder and you will be given one more week to finish it. If it is not finished in that time, it will be moved to the archives.
  
• All nobles are canons. This includes their country, age and line. Everything else is basically up to you though. If your character already has siblings made, please check their apps so they can match up as much as possible.
  
• Please try to have a signature and avatar for your character within a week of being accepted. Also please don't stretch the board. Maximum 150x200 for avatar.
  
• Staff and Servants are entirely original. Although servants should be roughly the same age as the noble they are serving the main difference it can be is one year older or younger. If you would like we are allowing one adult servant per fifth year noble. Please check to see which adult servants are taken.
  
• You may only have a total of five nobles, after the first three you must create a servant or staff member.
  
• Members must wait a minimum of two weeks before starting any additional characters. If an additional character is started before the two week limit is up, an extra will be added for not following the rules. If you would like to reserve a character, you must PM an admin and post up your reservation with the two week deadline before starting the application.
  
• As of July 2011, if you have four females your fifth character must be male.
  
• Life changing plots (ie. Pregnancies, deaths) must be cleared with the staff before being implemented.
  
• As of January 2012, If there is a ban on a particular character type, applications of that type should not be posted until the ban is lifted. If you post an application for that character kind, it will be archived immediately.
  
• As of April 2012, the app requires a codeword. You will find that codeword somewhere in these rules.
  
• As a courtesy to future players if your character doesn't have their sibling yet, don't try and assign them a personality. It wouldn't be fair to the person making them, especially if that wasn't how they wanted to portray their character.

2nd Year: 14/15
3rd Year: 15/16
4th Year: 16/17
5th Year: 17/18
University: 18/19

OOC

• There should be no drama. No fighting, nothing. Everything that happens between your characters, has absolutely nothing to do with you. So no fighting. It's not necessary. The first part of the secret is we.
  
• Advertisements should be kept in the advertisement board. Anything outside of that will be deleted.
  
• Please no spamming. It's pathetic and a waste of not only my time, but yours as well. So just don't do it. I am sure there are other things that can be done in your spare time.
  
• If you know you are going to be gone, please post in the AFK board. AFK messages last a length of 30 days. After they will be moved and you will no longer be excused. You may however post another one.

IC

• Remember that when you make a character you need to claim the play by(celebrity). If you do not and someone uses it before you, I am sorry, but that was your own fault. In the case of twins, it is okay.
  
• Names should be changed to all lowercase and should be exactly what your characters name is. E.G. marie jane antoinette Nothing more. If you run out of characters, abbreviate the name somehow, but make sure the country(for nobles) is still in your display name.
  
• Do not roleplay until accepted. You may however post in the plot pages if it affects your characters history, or you are claiming a wanted ad.
  
• This is a literate site. So we should not see any one liners, the word count is a minimum of 300 words. If you are unable to keep up with this word count you will be warned.
  
• Along the literacy lines. There should be no chat speak. It is stupid to use when writing. You don't read a book that has chat speak, therefore you shouldn't write like that.
  
• All posts should be in third person. Don't put it in first or second, that's extremely annoying to read. Second part is love.
  
• No god-moding or power-playing. This also includes no perfect characters. There is absolutely no one that is perfect. Everyone has flaws. Find them.
  
• Due to Proboards Terms of Services, all threads must be rated PG-13. No mature threads allowed unless you want to be warned and/or banned. (Note: This is where fade to black comes into play)
  
• Anything out of character in an in character thread, must either be posted in the notes section of your template, or must be posted in brackets. Then it's cookies.
  
• Hope you enjoyed the scavenger hunt for the codeword, since it is in fragments in the rules. There are three parts to it, so make sure you read the rules thoroughly.

Rule Breakers
I like to be lenient and therefore I give five strikes. Each strike will give you 20% of a warning, which you can see on your account.

• At 60%, you are suspended for three days.
  
• At 80%, you are suspended for a week.
  
• At 100%, you will be deleted, no warning.
