Nervously, she glanced at the clock, and then at her cellphone. It had been eerily silent despite the fact she'd sent the text message to Aubrey a while back, but then she didn't really expect the princess to bother replying. Not deep down. She knew her. Either she would make an appearance, or she wouldn't, but replying when she thought it trivial had never really occured to Aubrey before. Ellie really had no reason to think it would now, even though it would have been nice to know if she was actually coming or not. Again, it wasn't conventional for someone like the Belgian princess to do things according to how you thought they should be done. She did things how she thought they needed to be done, or how propriety demanded, but that was about it. Protocol wasn't on the line here so Ellie could only sit and hope. And try not to fidget.
She was very nervous, actually. She had been ever since the Mexico trip which had changed her life - but Aubrey didn't really know it yet. That was the problem. Ric had offered to talk to her, but Ellie had refused point-blanc. Aubrey would eat her alive if the news came from anyone but herself. Which was the main reason why she'd asked to meet her tonight, she wanted to explain, to talk, and to let the princess know she wasn't abandoning her or anything of the like. Above all else, Ellie was petrified to get on Aubrey's bad side, when they'd only just found a mutual language which had allowed them to survive most of last year. Previously, things had been almost unbearable, but they had been looking up and the brunette feverishly hoped she hadn't ruined everything. But nothing could really be done, given that she already had Ric's ring. She wasn't wearing it yet - that one would make Aubrey kill her even sooner. But she would once the princess was told.
Ellie mentally checked if she had everything. Favourite movie, check. Favourite snack, check. Everything done, double check, she'd spent most of the afternoon making sure nothing would be able to get in the way of this little conversation. Seeing as she was surprised the Queen of Belgium hadn't point-blanc informed her daughter about the fact that her servant was marrying the Mexican prince, Ellie wondered if this was some sort of conspiracy. Well, if nothing else, it would all end once Aubrey made an appearance, if she would. Ellie would always remain an optimist though, and since she loved the platinum-haired girl, she hoped that at least a fraction of that feeling was returned, just enough so that Aubrey wouldn't ditch her tonight in favour of, say, Alessio. She thought she heard a noise, like footsteps, and turned her head to see who it was.
