Bethany paused in the main hallway of the fourth floor where she had been living for the last 2 years and would remain for a third before she was allowed to leave the school. It wasn't that she hated school or anything, she was just feeling stuck. Her return to school had started badly with the realization that she wouldn't be making the ten hour flight with her brother, Annalie or either of the Finnish princes like she had every other year she'd been coming to the states. And then, to add to it, her mother had tried to dictate what she was allowed to wear on the flight on the chance that the papparazzi might see. Which was absolutely ridiculous because the papparazzi saw her plenty when she was vacationing and she very rarely dressed professionally when on vacation.
But she'd finally agreed with her mother, to get her to shut up, by putting on the uncomfortable gray suit and stashing a pair of comfortable pajama pants and a hoodie in her carry-on bag since there would be no one to stop her from changing on the plane as long as she changed back before she landed. And now as she stood in the empty hallway, purse and carry-on over her shoulder and her smaller suit case trailing behind her, she realized she had no idea what room she'd been put into. She knew that she was no longer staying with Annalie since her best friend had graduated, but she couldn't remember if she had a new roommate in her old room, or if she had decided to move in with Nada and Ana or if she'd signed her death wish and moved into the abandoned Queens suite with this years queens. With a sigh, she tugged on the skirt of her suit and dug through her purse to find the letter she'd recieved from the school welcoming her back.
After reading through it, she discovered she was with Nada and Ana. She walked the short distance from where she had been standing to the room and opened the door, walking into the nice, but stuffy room. She couldn't believe that no one had opened the windows all summer. She remembered that last year Vivien had lived in the room and so, after looking around the room, Bethany walked to what used to be Vivien's bed, off in the corner, and set her bags down. Being in the corner suited her fine as it gave the illusion of privacy when sharing a room with two other girls. She quickly shed her suit jacket and laid it over the desk chair before turning on the cieling fan and opening all of the windows. She was apparently the first one to arrive. With another sigh at the idea of a year without Annalie (and still not over the fact that Nada was a married woman) she sat on the edge of her bed and laid back, not bothering to take off her shoes. She picked up her phone and started to text her friends, wondering when they would arrive at the school.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *The plane ride had been long, and Nada had been in and out of slumber basically the whole time. Her brother had been in a similar state and well she knew that it was just the time zone change. Either way the flight had been long and she had tried to dress comfortably for it. Milenko had spent most of the time on her lap, because Nada knew the puppy was nervous. When they had returned to Serbia she was sure her dog was really close to have a panic attack so Nada had been careful with him this time around. She had spent about fifteen minutes reading a book before she ended up falling asleep then waking up periodically. When the pilot announced that they were nearing the airport Nada had excused herself to change out of her comfy clothes. She knew that she had to look presentable for her arrival, even if she would have preferred to wear jeans and a nice comfortable top on the plane her mother had said that she needed to look nice. She slipped on the dress, and stuffed her clothes in her carryon bag before she took her seat again. Her phone buzzed, alerting her that someone had tweeted her and she opened up the tweet.
Apparently Bethany was already waiting for her and for Ana to arrive. She knew that Ana wouldn’t be back that day, probably by the 26th since that was the ultimate cutoff date for all students. They finally touched down in Montana and Nada felt a bit of relief, the summer had been somewhat stressful and she knew that school would be a nice getaway. She hadn’t completely forgiven her mother for what she had done, just because of the awkwardness of the situation now. And of course she knew that Theo would be flying in too, before he headed off to Japan for the school year and she was excited about that too. When they finally arrived at Vineheart, Nada felt actually glad to see it, she made sure that Milenko was safe in his bag because he would have to go with Dragan for the rest of the year. With Ana’s return to the dorm, Nada couldn’t keep her puppy with her because of her best friend’s aversion to small dogs. Her things were already waiting for her when she walked into the dorm, and she was surprised at how stuffy it felt. It was obvious that the dorms had been basically left alone after they had been cleaned at the end of last term. She looked around the room, it was obvious that Bethany was here because the suitcases were in front of Vivien’s old bed. She wondered just where her friend was, and she was actually excited they were sharing a room this year. After all they had gotten a lot closer the year before, and Nada felt that she could trust Bethany just as much as she trusted Ana and Max.
“Bethy, are you still in here?” she asked as she set Milenko’s carrier down and let him out for a few minutes.

Bethany had recieved a reply from Anastasiya that she wouldn't be there for hours, well after Bethany would probably be asleep or out at IceBox, and that Nada wouldn't be there for awhile. So, with a sigh, she'd gotten up and drug her biggest suitcase into the closet that she remembered as Viviens. She assumed that Nada and Stasiya would keep the same closets and beds as the previous year. It took her about thirty minutes to unpack the suit case and she slowly rearranged her clothes until they were how she liked them- by type and then by color. Some of her boxes showed up and she smiled as she carried them to the closet as well. She kicked off her shoes before she started to open boxes and look to see what was in them. She wished that she labeled her boxes better.
Once the boxes were open, she saw that one box was her bedding, which she was grateful for, and the other boxes were almost all shoes. Which sucked because she hadn't gotten any of her shoe racks yet in the boxes that had arrived. Bethany sighed again in frustration. She had never had to completely move in and out of a room before; her first year and her third year her parents had come to help her and Annalie move their things and they'd moved them when campus was closed. Leaving her shoes discarded in the closet, she made her way back into her room and grabbed her bathroom bag before retreating into their shared bathroom to start arranging her things. But when she got in, she realized she had never spent much time in Nada's bathroom, so she didn't know where Nada and Stasiya normally kept their things.
She pulled a hairband out of her case before zipping it closed in anger and looking at herself in the mirror. She was bored and lonely and she felt like a stranger in someone else's space. When she heard what sounded like a door closing, she pulled her hair up and twisted it into a bun before she heard Nada's voice. A smile broke out on her face and she went back out into the room, throwing her arms around Nada. "Hey married lady!" she said, laughing and giving her another hug. "How are you? How's married life?" she asked, raising her eyebrow and grinning as she stooped down to scratch Milenko between the ears.

Got a secret Can you keep it ? Swear this one you'll save

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *She was starting to think that maybe Bethany had gone out to get some fresh air, as Milenko made his way towards her bed. But her thoughts were proven wrong when she heard the bathroom door open and then spotted her friend. She laughed as Bethany hugged her, hugging her back with about as much enthusiasm as she could muster after such a long flight. At the married lady part she could only shake her head, and she wondered if this was going to be her official title now. It was a little odd, given that everyone seemed to think that just because she was married things were different. She was sure they were in a way but of course she still felt like her old self. Obviously a much happier version of her previous self but everything else was pretty much the same. She didn’t even really want to think about the other parts of herself that were different, because then that would just kill her mood and this was supposed to be happy time. After all Bethany was her roommate, and even though she’d miss Viv, she still had Ana who would be with them this whole year and well it was going to be a good year. No it was going to be a great year for all of them, she just had a feeling it was going to be great.
“Please don’t make married lady by official name now” she said with a laugh, “Because that would just be weird”
Bethany’s next question made her want to giggle again but she bit it back a she wheeled her suitcase over to her bed. Most of her other things were going to be arriving within the hour, because she wasn’t allowed to carry anything too heavy herself. That of course meant most of her clothes were still in transit, she only had her clothes for the next few days in the suitcase she had with her and of course the smaller one had all of Milenko’s things. She dropped her purse on the bed as she took a seat, motioning for Bethany to join her on the bed. It felt good to be able to just sit down and not have to worry about anything. She knew she would probably have to have Milenko in her brother’s room before Ana got there, but she was sure her other friend wouldn’t mind having Milenko around for a couple of hours. As to Bethany’s question she wasn’t sure how to answer, married life was great. It didn’t feel very different from when she was engaged to Theo just because he had gone back to the Netherlands for a few days because of something that had happened, so they didn’t get to have an actual honeymoon at all. But she wasn’t going to complain, honeymoon or not it had been a happy few weeks for her. It wasn’t something she’d trade anything for, the only depressing thing was that Theo was going to be in Japan in just a few days, so that didn’t give them much time to spend together.
“Married life is pretty good, I mean we spent only a few days together before he had to go back to the Netherlands for some sort of problem” she said, “But either way I’m happy, which I guess is what counts. What about you? How did the rest of your summer go?”
