HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Each year the school holds this event as the last major event of the term. It is meant to represent a dance that is not only open to attending students, but to those who have already left us as well. This was the event that graduated students were openly invited to, making the Winter Gala and open invitation event. When you enter, you will observe that the ballroom has been divided into two parts, one slightly larger than the other. The smaller section (to your right), which is decorated with snowflakes, ice sculptures and bouquets of winter inspired flowers, holds tables filled with food and drinks (all non-alcoholic of course). This part of the ballroom is meant for those who like to people watch and just observe the rest of the population.
The slightly larger section of the ballroom(to your left) is decorated just as elaborately as the smaller half, but it holds the dance floor so it is mostly open space. Closest to the end of the room, we have built a stage where you will find not only a DJ but a band was well, to provide you with any type of music imaginable. About an hour into the event, the ballroom's primary lights will be shut off, and they will be replaced with twinkly lights that represent snowflakes, and there will be an illusion of snow falling. The doors open at exactly eight 'o' clock so the ballroom is now open to any and all students, for a night of fun.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- She spent most of the day getting ready for the gala in her room, though she had done the whole pedicure and facial thing in the very early morning. It was going to be a lengthy process, especially her hair because she wasn’t sure how she wanted to do it for this occasion. There was the chance that she would straighten it and that would take a good three hours given the amount of hair she had, and of course the texture of it. Or she could just fix her curls up in a particular way, and leave it at that. After deliberation she decided just making sure her curls would cooperate and pinning half of them sideways would be a good idea and she actually loved the result. Her dress wouldn’t really threaten to mess up her hair, so she saved that for last as was usual and she worked on her make-up. It was funny because all of them were getting ready for the gala, so when one left the bathroom, the other entered and that had been their little routine that whole morning. She sat at her little vanity table, staring at herself in the mirror and wiling herself to relax. The whole parliament issue would be dealt with by her when they returned to Serbia later on this week, and well it made her a bit nervous.
But she didn’t want to focus on that because she just needed to get through the evening and then they would be boarding a plane back to Serbia later on in the week and they would hopefully bring an end to this issue. So she focused on making sure that she didn’t make a mistake while applying her make up. She finished at an acceptable time, so while Ana and Bethany continued to get ready, she curled up on the little couch at the foot of her bed and she read a book. She didn’t want to leave before either other girl because that would guarantee her getting to the gala way too early as was her habit. She was about halfway through when she decided to grab her dress, and finish getting ready to go to the ballroom. She slid the dress on easily, and she didn’t need help because the zipper was on the side of the dress. She grabbed shoes from her closet, and grabbed her necklace and earrings and put those on as well. Making sure she had everything she needed in her clutch, she told Bethany and Ana that she would see them in the ballroom and she made her way up. There were people already in the ballroom, apart from chaperones and she waved at a few as she settled down in one of the empty chairs. She knew her brother might pop in soon, or one of her other friends it was all a matter of waiting for a few minutes. She had tried to arrive as late as possible just because she didn’t want to sit in the chair for too long, there was a chance she would get restless and that would not have good consequences.
