Personality
Manipulative* She’s a manipulative little minx who’s in the process of figuring out just how to play people. Lina’s got all of the adults wrapped around her finger but her fellow students sometimes react in irritatingly unpredictable ways. Her occasionally saucy personality has been considered a challenge by some of the boys in her year, and though Emmalina plays the ‘I’m-so-experienced’ card, in reality she’s a virgin who’s clueless and terrified when it comes to all things sexual. Lina’s mean streak only gets worse if you pick on her friends, and rules are nothing to her when she’s out for revenge, but she somehow manages not to get into trouble most of the time. Of course, that could be because she arranges her schemes so that someone else is always taking the fall for her…
Suspicious* After having a servant use her for the publicity she hasn’t seen the point in going out of her way to be nice to anyone. Lina is suspicious by nature and always trying to figure out what the angles of the people who speak to her are. As a result she doesn’t have very many friends at all. Once you’ve cracked her frosty outer layers there’s a loyal friend beneath, but for the most part she’s of the ‘survival-of-the-fittest’ mentality and will do whatever works out to benefit her the most.
Outgoing* Just because she doesn’t trust people doesn’t mean Emmalina doesn’t like talking to people. In fact, she’s quite the social butterfly and is involved with a bunch of clubs at school. As a result she knows almost everyone older than her at the school, and most of the younger students too. Lina is totally in her element at Vineheart, and doesn’t care if people know things about her –of course, only the things she wants them to know about her. Frienemies are a normal part of her day-to-day living, and lots of people talk to her simply because she’s one of the school’s most well-known students, even if she’s only known for her meanness.
Honest* Even though many people don’t appreciate the extent of Lina’s honesty, she can be counted on to always give her honest opinion on any situation or issue. Granted, she sometimes gives it without being asked, but tiptoeing around people’s feelings has never been something she’s done. To some it may seem as though she’s deliberately trying to be mean, but most of the time she just doesn’t realize how things sound to the people she’s talking to; in her head everything sounds nicer. Lina’s of the mind that the dance of politics is useless and the reason everything takes so long to happen is because the politicians aren’t straightforward and honest with each other. If they’d just tell the truth and say what they actually thought things could change. This makes her a teensy bit hypocritical because even though she doesn’t lie she often omits the truth, half-lies, or skillfully avoids the question.
Sweet* Despite acting like an ice queen to most people, Emmalina has a soft side for the few people she legitimately trusts and cares about. While this is namely her family there are a few others she’ll make an effort to be a good friend to. In fact, beneath all the insensitive crap she spouts she’s actually a very thoughtful friend. Her friends can count on this girl to help them find their lost dog, finish that killer chemistry lab or be there for them if they were in trouble. Lina’s excellent at getting out of trouble too, and she’ll help her friends out if she can.

HistoryEmmalina was born on a hot summer day to the Austrian King and Queen almost ten months before her sister. She'd arrived almost a week ahead of schedule, and hasn't been tardy for an event since. Thankfully the delivery was an easy one and she was welcomed into the family by her older brother and sister. Her younger sister was born less than a year later, and the two of them were very close growing up. Emmalina became the stronger personality, bold where her sister was shy, loud instead of quiet, but despite all of their differences the two of them were still very close. It was easier for Lina to make friends because she was more outgoing, and when they were seven or eight years old she became close to one of the servant's sons.
The boy intrigued Lina because he was different from all of the noble boys; this one didn't mind getting into trouble with them, and he was the best person they knew at hide and go seek. The two girls began taking him with them to different events, which their parents allowed for entertainment purposes; the two energetic girls were much easier to manage after being tired out by someone their own age. Lina became particularly close to the boy, and when she celebrated her thirteenth birthday, the press attended of course. Right in the middle of dancing with the servant boy, he kissed her, making papers across the country and earning his family massive amounts of money for their 'exclusive' interviews. He and his parents were fired and she never saw them again.
Since that time she's trusted neither boys nor servants, viewing the former with suspicion the second they make any sort of advance towards her, and the treating the latter with something akin to disdain. Gone is her idea that people aren't just looking out for themselves, and that strangers can be trusted. Lina doesn't pretend to be anything she isn't -unless that suits her purposes- and is mean to almost everyone now because she doesn't think she should be nice to them without them giving her a reason. Despite this she's managed to enlist a posse of back-up girls who'd as soon backstab her as help her cause, but this devious princess keeps them in check by making it her business to know all their dirty little secrets.
