One thing that Katerina learned very early on was the ability to stand up for what she believed in. Sadly what her parents did not know was that they were also facilitating her stubborn nature because when Katerina gets a particular idea in her head, it won’t disappear. Oh she can try and get it to go away, but chances are if she wants to do something, even if it’s something she isn’t supposed to do, she won’t rest until she does it. This also means it’s very hard to change her mind about certain things, so she ends up getting in a lot of debates with people who try to contradict her. Basically trying to get her to change her mind is like trying to move a building on your own, it’s basically impossible. Only some people actually have gotten her to change her mind, and it’s usually been after a very lengthy conversation. So back to the point, she is very stubborn so prepare to deal with that.
Loyal*
Another thing that is basically ingrained into her personality is her sense of loyalty. There is nothing she values more than the idea of loyalty because if you can’t be loyal to someone you are basically nothing in her opinion. This loyalty transfers to many different aspects in her life, obviously the people she cares about. Loyalty to her country is something big for her, especially because both of her parents have served the Bulgarian royals since before she was even born. Katerina believes that loyalty is something that should be ingrained in everyone because in her opinion it is very important. If she comes across people who are basically trashing those (who in her opinion they should be loyal to), she will have no problem telling them off. And of course everyone she is loyal to, she is extremely protective of and will do anything for them.

Along with being stubborn, Katerina is persistent especially when it comes to things she wants. She isn’t entitled or anything like that, but it’s hard to deny her when she wants things. And no she wasn’t really spoiled as a child, it’s just hard to say no to a sweet looking child, and well the older she got she didn’t really lose that sweet demure, so she tended to get what she wanted. But of course her persistence tends to translate into other things, not just things she desires. She will never leave anything halfway, she finishes everything she starts. She is also persistent when it comes to organization, she is kind of a control freak in that way. She doesn’t really stop bugging you until you do the thing she wants, and then if you do it wrong, she won’t leave you alone until you do it. Now she is aware on who this will work with, and who it won’t work with, but overall she’s pretty good at getting things done.

History
Katerina’s mother was from Slovakia and arrived in Bulgaria with the queen, and her father was already working for the royals in Bulgaria. They fell in love and married about a year and a half into their relationship and Katerina was born on January 29 about a year into their marriage. Given that Katerina was born a few months after the eldest princess (well princesses, but that’s a technicality), so it was inferred that Katerina would end up following her to Vineheart when the time came. Overall Katerina had a pretty good childhood, she never really was deprived anything because her parents made good money working for the royals, and of course they liked to spoil their little girl. She didn’t do much the first five years of her life, she just mostly played with all the other servant children, occasionally followed her mother when she served the queen, but mostly it was just about playing for her. Now the fact that Katerina basically got most of the things she wanted, and this helped her develop that little stubborn habit of hers.
Whenever Kat spent time with her mother, observing the things she did for the queen the more she learned about the possible things she would be doing once she got old enough. She had always been that really organized kid, it didn’t necessarily mean she was tidy, she was just organized. She had the tendency to take charge of certain thing, it was just her personality and no one ever really complained if she did take charge. The one thing she never managed to take charge of was when it came to Mira’s pranks because that wasn’t something she willingly wanted to mess with. The one time she did partake in a prank with the princess, and her brother, they got caught and she was told that she wasn’t supposed to do such things and therefore didn’t get a chance to really play with them anymore. They were fairly small, so Katerina was just directed to continue playing with the other servant’s children and continue helping her mother whenever she could.
By age thirteen, she had basically not spent any real time with Mira and that was when they were sent to Vineheart Academy. It was fun to get sent to the United States, and Mira wasn’t horrible to serve, sure they had their little spats but it was never anything serious. She treated her nicely enough, and over time Kat began to care for the other girl. She never judged her over her decisions, and would always try to help her in any way possible. She tried to keep her schedule when she could, and tried to keep the princess’ life organized, but of course that would only work if Mira cooperated, and she usually did. Her first four years were pretty okay, Kat fancied herself in love a few times, and she made some rather stupid decisions that made her rather guarded when it came to the idea of relationships because in her mind, boys only wanted sex. Not that she had any problem with that, since it was fun, but she got tired of that whole idea and she basically put off relationships to focus on her studies and just keep doing her job appropriately. Now during her fifth year, she’s ready to leave Vineheart and excited over the possibility of going with Mira to a university and maybe studying something she is really good at.
