We’ll call this boy Dan for now, just for the plot ad’s sake. Dan here is really, really needed. He’s involved in a massive love plot, but he’s also in quite a few good friendships so it would be great if someone could take him up! I’ve given a few ideas for playbys, but if you have another playby in mind, please message me! Anyways, as far as personality goes, the original Dan has always been an overall nice guy. Stubborn and moody at times, but always looking out for those he cares about, and not giving up so easily. Also, it would be nice if he is the type of guy to be up for a good time, but not a huge party boy, if you catch my drift? If you would like to add a few fun personality twists in there, by all means go for it, but generally I’d like him to be a fun, sweet guy. This is the most complicated and important part of this character. You see, Annalie and Dan have known each other since first year at Vineheart, where they were paired up in a history project as cute twelve year olds. Annalie, still dealing with her father’s accidental death, was a quiet girl who didn’t really talk to anyone. However, Dan was able to get Annalie to open up, and they became close. There was a mutual crush involved, but neither really had the guts to say anything (they were only twelve years old, honestly) so they just let it be. Eventually, in their third year Annalie began dating the eldest German prince, and though Dan was a bit bothered by it, he didn’t know why, so he kept it to himself. After Annalie and Xavier broke up, she became closer to Dan to try and shy away from the awkwardness with Xavier. It certainly helped that Annalie and Dan’s younger sister, Bethany, were best of friends and roommates.

Fifth year, however, was when things really started to change. Feelings evolved and Dan realized he was falling for Annalie, the closest girl friend he had. During a fun “date” they went on together, Dan confessed his growing feelings for her, but Annalie rejected him because she was scared to fall for someone else and scared to hurt him like she had Xavier. For a few weeks, they didn’t talk and things were awkward between them because Dan was frustrated with Annalie’s rejection and Annalie was still confused about how she felt about Dan. Finally, after playing a prank on Dan and his friends, Annalie admitted to Dan that she shared the same feelings, and the two began dating. For the rest of the summer after graduation, the two spent as much time together as they could, and quickly fell in love. They confessed their love for each other while on a trip to Africa with Bethany and the Finnish prince, and during some quiet time alone together, they slept together for the first time. It was a breakthrough for their relationship and for Annalie, who had never let herself love and be loved before.

Then, things went rampant a few weeks later when Annalie’s mother informed her that the Swedish Council had decided that in order for her to not have to take the throne and be able to attend University, they’d struck a deal: Annalie could go to Stockholm University for four years, if she were to take the throne at 21…and be married by the time of her coronation. Annalie was technically eligible to take the throne, and the Council was basically doing her a favor, as she had no siblings for her to hand the throne to; Dan was also first in line, however, and so Annalie realized she would have to break up with Dan. When Dan offered to abdicate and give the throne to Bethany, Annalie refused, scared that things between them might end tragically like her mother and father’s marriage.

What’s going to happen is that eventually, Annalie and Dan will meet up again and slowly return to being friends. Despite still loving each other, they won’t take anything further; Dan is just trying to slowly persuade Annalie to get back together with him by continuing being her friend, while Annalie is conflicted with wanting Dan in her life still. Complications will arise with Annalie begins casually dating another prince that attends Stockholm University, and this will put a strain on their evolving friendship.

Since this is already turning into a novel of a plot ad, whoever is interested, I will PM you the rest of the information, though it has to be said that these two WILL eventually get back together and ultimately marry.

In general, they should be able to tell each other everything and be there for each other at all costs, despite their small rift at the end of the previous year concerning Bethany’s arranged marriage. Dan is one of the original Kings of Vineheart, along with Xavier, Vladimir, and the Finnish prince. The other four boys are his closest friends, especially Xavier and the Finnish prince – he attends school with Xavier at Dartmouth, and has grown up with the Finnish prince, as the Finland and Denmark royal families are very close. There was a bit of a spat between he and the Finnish prince during their fifth year, when Dan knew about Bethany’s arranged marriage to --- --- of Albania and didn’t tell her. The Finnish prince was angry with Dan for not doing more to get her out of the arranged marriage, as the Finnish prince was in love with her. Eventually, the two made up at the King and Queen’s end of year party after Dan apologized for not doing more to help Bethany, and all is well now that the Finnish prince is dating Bethany.
