Personality
Reckless* Aura tends to run straight into situations without thinking about them first. It’s a habit she acquired from the days she spent living on the streets. The consequences rarely mean anything to her because she accepts the actions that follow whatever it is that she’s doing. Aura will react first and ask questions later. She will do anything to survive. She is also known for jumping straight into relationships just to have them. Her daddy issues tend to be the main reason behind it. Aura feels like she lacks affection in her life and usually finds a boyfriend to give her that affection. These relationships mostly turn out to be only sexual and drive her to look for the one guy who can offer her constant and never ending affection.
Down-to-earth* Living on the streets for so long made Aura really see what the world was and how it worked. She doesn’t really believe in fairy tales or dreams because she knows her life can’t get any better by waiting for something magical to happen. Having to steal from people made her realize that the only way to stay alive in the world was to find work. Aura learned how cruel the world could be and many of the limitations that came with it. After learning that her family, other than Kata was dead, she realized that her lot in life was to be whatever she could to keep herself alive.
Survivalist* Aura has strong and independent survivalist instincts due to her difficult past and is good at thinking outside the box. She is not socially adept and has a hard time making friends due to the emotional strain on her life which has made her hard and cold. She is more concerned about finding her sister and doing her job than being social, making her awkward around people. History
Growing up in the Veres family was living a life of luxury. Aura and Kata were spoiled little girls who had their daddy wrapped around their little fingers. Everything they asked for was given to them and they had all of the love and affection they could ask for. Henrik, their older brother, also held a special connection with his sisters. The three of them were as close as can be. When the twins reached the age of six, their mother gave birth to a little boy named Miska. While Aura was happy to have another brother in the family, she remained closer with Henrik where Kata had attached herself to Miska. Aura had nothing against her new brother at all, but she was a lot happier to hang around with her older brother instead. The family was seemingly happy and all was well, that is, all but their Uncle Elias. His jealousy over the luxurious life Gusztav and his family had eventually built up and caused the man to snap. A plan was made to cause his brother to lose everything and Elias would take his place in the life of luxury. One night when the girls were eleven years old Elias and his followers raided the Veres estate and took the family hostage. Aura and Kata were pulled to the side and forced to watch as their family was separated from them. As they were pulled deep into the mansion screams were heard and chaos was evident in what used to be a silent night. A family friend and servant had pulled the twins away from that chaos only for the trio to be caught while trying to escape. The girls were separated from the boy and brought to one of their rooms. Elias had decided to sell them as sex slaves and make a fortune for them. The girls were separated when they reached a campground and were forced to stay in different rooms. When Aura woke early the next morning she was being released from her chains by somebody. With it being dark still she couldn’t tell who it was. Her savior grabbed her hand and they snuck away from the campground. When Aura asked where Kata was, he had replied that it was already too late to save her because Elias’s guards were packing her up in a crate to ship somewhere right at that moment. Aura shed a few tears for the loss of her family and followed who she now recognized to as her friend towards the Veres estate.
They snuck in unseen and grabbed as many items as they could knowing that once they left the country, they wouldn’t be coming back and would be living on the streets. On the way out the duo was forced to take another route because some of Elias’s goons were still patrolling the estate. As they passed through the servants’ hallway they witnessed the rest of the Veres family being removed from the estate. Aura almost gave away their position when she realized that they were dead and not drugged like she first expected. Once the coast was clear they snuck out and headed as far away from the estate as possible. After what seemed like five years of living on the streets of Hungary, the duo left the country because they felt like Elias knew exactly where they were. The Veres company was becoming powerful once again and soon he would send out more of his goons to get them. So they left and eventually found themselves in Germany where they heard that there was a job opening for being a servant with the royal family. After years on the streets, Aura and Dominik decided to give it a try. Pick pocketing and the likes was not doing too good for them anymore and it was growing more and more difficult as the time went on. Aura and Dominik made it to the palace and were granted an audience with their highnesses. The queen was so moved by their situation and story that she took them up on the job immediately. Due to legal problems Aura was not allowed to accompany one of the queen’s children to Vineheart Academy for the year. Dominik however, was allowed to go to Vineheart and was assigned to the youngest princess since she was the one who needed a servant the most. Aura learned that when all of the legalities were worked out that she would be a servant for the younger son, Grayson. With his being older the queen had said that his need for a servant wasn’t as high as the princess’s was. When Aura finally turned 17 the legalities were worked out and she found herself on her way to Vineheart ready to serve her charge.
