Personality
Observant* Francis is a rather observant person. He notices things about people that others tend to ignore or are completely oblivious to. He pays attention to little things such as figiting or a shift in body language. This normally helps him understand someone. He also likes to sit back and observe situations and make a rational judgement, though he hates dealing with sour situations. He prefers happy and small situations that don't affect him, or anyone else in a big way, which also makes him somewhat cautious.
Shy* Francis is not exactly an open book, nor is he a social butterfly. He is not one to walk right up to people and make friends and introduce himself first. He prefers people to come to him. And once he learns of the person's intentions and a bit of their personality, he decides whether they are worth his time to get to know them. He also does not say right out loud of how he feels about someone, especially a girl, he has know if he can fully trust them.
Trustworthy (usually)* Francis is not one of those big, macho, rude jocks that act all sweet, innocent and understanding so that when you spill your feelings and/or secrets out to him he can go and boast that so-and-so wants to do this-and-that or so-and-so is crushing on so-and-so. History
Francisco was a long awaited heir to the Portuguese throne. His parents, Hilario and Generosa, were married for eight long years before they were finally blessed with a son. Oh yes, they had tried countless of times for a child, but to no avail. Until one day in the early days of the month of May in the year of 1993. Generosa had realized that she was long past due for her period. After a visit with the royal family's physician, it was confirmed that Generosa was expecting and was due in late November to mid-December, for she had been around six to eight weeks pregnant at the time of discovery. Hilario and Generosa made the announcement formally to the public only a few days later.
His Royal Highness, Francisco Hilario Juan Enrique Hernando Amerigo Gabriel of Portugal, son to King Hilario and Queen Generosa, was born December 15th, 1993. Generosa had chosen to have her first child at home in the palace. Generosa endured long hours of labor and almost gave in and went to the hospital. But finally, in the early morning, she gave birth and finally became a mother at the age of thirty. King Hilario was quite happy, but mostly for the fact he now had a successor to the throne.
The first year of Francisco's life was happy, pleasing his parents as he reached milestones. And about a month after Francisco's first birthday, Generosa was extremely pleased to announce she was expecting again. And nine months later, she gave birth to a second son, a brother to little Francisco. Franncisco was not a jealous child, he actually quite enjoyed the company of his brother. But as they grew older and were joined by a sister and another brother, it became evident that the second eldest brother was favored by their father. Francisco had developed into a quiet boy that was athletic and talented, but not boastful and focused on more important things and not just himself. While his brother seemed to be the polar opposite.
As for his sister, Francisco absolutely adored her. She was the easiest person he could relate with in the family. He understood her the most out of the family and almost never became frustrated or angry with her. Same went for his mother, who understood and often comforted him. She too, noticed that her husband had started to play favorites with their children. And she became unhappy in her marriage, but stayed wed to him, so the country would not have an upset with a royal divorce.
At age 13, it was announced that Francisco would be attending Vineheart in order to prepare him for royal duties when he comes of age. And his siblings followed one after another, his father claiming that they to would have royal duties even if they were not the one sitting on the throne. Which was true. But Francisco always wondered if his father expected him to give up and give his crown to his oldest younger brother. As much as he was tempted to allow himself to stay a Prince and allow his brother to become King of Portugal, he decided to accept his birthright and go to the school.
