[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]there's no sunrise --- The school carnival was something she had been looking forward to because it had sounded like so much fun. Going on rides and playing games for stuffed animals sounded like so much fun and it wasn’t like she had ever been to a carnival before in her life. Luckily for everyone the snow was long gone, and everything seemed to be working in favor of the school’s plans because it was a rather bright and sunny morning. She wasn’t sure what was appropriate to wear at a carnival so she just decided to put on a skirt and see if that worked. She spent a good amount of her morning getting ready, she showered and then made sure to blow dry her hair so that it wasn’t super curly but it wasn’t super straight. Then she carefully did her make-up, making sure she looked perfect before she grabbed her outfit for the afternoon. Both her sister and Aisling seemed to be missing, so she had the room to herself as she finished getting dressed. It didn’t take long, so she was ready to grab her phone and throw all the stuff she needed into a bag. It wasn’t cold outside, and she was pretty sure that it wouldn’t get cold until much later.
Once she deemed herself ready she texted Raphael. They had both decided to go to the carnival together as friends, and after all he was her best friend. So it seemed almost natural to go to this carnival thing with him, especially because she was sure her sister would be busy. So she made sure to text him that she’d meet him near the front steps of the school so they could walk over to where the school had set up the carnival. She was sure that it was going to look odd, a carnival within a gated school, but VIneheart had obviously done it for the security of the royals. She closed the door behind her as she made her way down to the entrance, and she pushed open the doors. There were people all around the lawn right now, some people were already going on the rides, while others seemed to be lingering to wait for whoever they were going with. She was excited because well she had never been to a carnival and well this was her only opportunity. Whatever member of the Vineheart staff had thought that this event was a good idea should get a medal because it wasn’t like they could go to carnivals every day. It was always too much of a security risk and other stupid things like that. But she happily made her way towards one of the benches near the steps, she wasn’t sure how long her friend would be and she wouldn’t look as stupid sitting on a bench than she would standing there waiting for her friend to join her. While she waited she texted her sister to get her whereabouts, and as she waited for a response she spotted Raph and she gave him a wave.

WOAH! SAVE THE WORLD WOAH! GET THE GIRL! [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: B8B8B8; border: #550505 solid 4px; width: 400px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] Raphael was not one to really go out and actually make plans. He was content with chilling in his room playing video games or joining in on a game of soccer. Sure there were occasions where he made plans, but they usually were an hour before or so, not days in advance. The school carnival was something different though. Mags had asked him when the thing had been announced if he would go with her. She had been his best friend since he had arrived at the school so how could he say no? On top of that, the boy had always harbored a small crush for his best friend. Not as if he had ever acted upon it. No, he had just gone and dated other girls not wanting to ruin the friendship he had with the girl. When she asked if he would go to the carnival with her, as friends of course, he couldn’t help but say yes. He had to keep reminding himself that he was going each and every day though so he wouldn’t flake on her. Sure he accidentally broke plans all the time, but not with Mags, never with Mags. He was pretty sure the only time he had ever broken a plan with her was when he had gotten really sick his second year and that was a good excuse. Of course he ended up seeing her anyways because being the good friend she was, she brought him soup to make sure he got better.
Raph looked at the clock and silently cursed himself. For some reason he just couldn’t ever be on time, even if it was meeting up with his best friend. He quickly threw on his last shoe and grabbed his phone before rushing out the door. If this had been the first time he had done this his mind would be telling him that she was going to kill him, but this wasn’t an uncommon act on his part so he doubted she even expected him to be on time. Actually he was pretty sure the girl had started telling him the time they were supposed to meet 15 minutes earlier than the real time so maybe he would actually be there on time. Raph arrived at the grounds and was instantly thrown into the carnival vibe. He had never seen the school so…fun. There were people everywhere and Raph tried to remember where him and Mags had decided to meet up. Thankfully he didn’t need to think too hard because he noticed her waving at him. He made his way towards her with a smile. He took a seat next to her, softly bumping his shoulder on her. ‘So ma’am what shall we do first? This was your idea so you get to pick.’ It was common for Raph not to really have a conventional greeting towards Mags, like hi or hello. He just felt comfortable around her and felt that every time they met up they were picking up where their conversation had ended when they last saw one another.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]there's no sunrise --- She never really minded waiting, not everyone was anally early and well she couldn’t blame them. After all Maggie was one of those people who woke up insanely early so that she had more than enough time to do everything she needed to do and still get to her appointments early. That was just the way she was, and she was pretty sure it would never change. She brushed a strand of hair from her face as her best friend made his way towards her and she felt better. She had made plans to spend most of the afternoon with him, and then later in the evening would be sister time. Everyone thought it was weird that Maggie got along so well with Lina, but no one else saw her in the role that she did. Lina had always been a fabulous big sister and she would have never traded her for anything else in the world. Still she was brought away from her thoughts as Raph finally joined her and bumped her shoulder. She threw him a smile, just because she loved the way neither of them really ever said hello. They just had these little nonverbal greetings that spoke way more than a simple greeting ever would.
“Oh come on you can’t tell me it isn’t a excellent idea?” she said with a smile, “I mean when will we ever get a chance to go to a carnival, like ever?”
She was honestly under the impression that the school had been genius in thinking up this event. It wasn’t like they got to do these types of things, and well she was excited. The rides, the games, everything looked like it would be great. So she rose from the bench, grabbing hold of Raph’s hand so that she could pull him along. She really didn’t even know where she wanted to go first, but she just wanted to go do something fun. It was kind of funny when Raph was standing next to her because he was the only boy her age that was actually not shorter than her. There were some boys that were really tall, but she couldn’t wear heels around most of them. Most of the time she couldn’t even wear heels with her sister, but with Raph that was never an issue. Even when she wore really tall heels she still barely brushed his shoulder, and that was because he was just very tall. It never made them look super weird because they were totally different heights or anything like that. She paused for a second, trying to see what would be the best place for them to head towards, there was the ferris wheel but then there were all the games towards the right. She was pretty sure that if they didn’t head towards the rides right now, the lines would be a lot longer later. So maybe rides would be a good thing, after all she was sure that the school had hired enough game booths that everyone would be doing something different and of course she was sure they carried enough prizes for everyone present. After all the school population was not THAT large.
“I say rides first, then games?” she said, “We could probably snack while we play games?” tag: raphael lucien of luxembourg word count: 549 outfit: click here lyric credit: colbie caillat notes: hope this is okay |
