It was a tradition at Vineheart, every year they held the Rose Ball. It was the equivalent of a prom, but of course with a twist given that it was an academy for royal children. To keep true to the name of the ball, every decoration in the ballroom could be related back to a rose. Naturally there were vases full of roses of varying colors scattered across the room. The tables that surrounded the dance floor all had rose centerpieces, these two varied in color. There were only a few tables because this was not a dinner event, but having chairs and tables for those who grew tired was a good idea. For the sake of not having a room full of flowers the school had ordered sculptures in the shape of roses which could be found in corners of the room, overall you could tell what the theme of this ball was. The school has also purchased dozens of pink flowers, given that they did not know who would be attending this event unaccompanied. It was tradition that no one at this ball, even the chaperones walk around without a rose. The administrators hoped that this year’s rose ball would be less eventful than the one from last year. Well one could only hope this would be a calmer event. The doors were set to open at seven ‘o’clock sharp for those who wished to show up on time. There was both a band and a DJ just because they knew that most students would prefer an event where the music had the beat to dance to. There were at least four chaperones attending the event so there would hopefully be enough eyes to avoid all drama. Overall the ballroom was ready to become the house of another rose ball, it was now all about waiting for both chaperones and students to show up and to let it all begin.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Her last rose ball. That was actually a weird concept for her because she had grown so used to the idea of attending this event every year. It was the last official event of her fifth year as well, and things were coming to a close rather quickly. In less than a month she would be a graduate of Vineheart Academy and not that far away from her wedding. She was excited, but of course a little nostalgic about her remaining time, but of course she knew that nostalgia would get her nowhere. She did her usual routine that she did on days of big events, the visit to get nails done, then showering and doing her hair. It was all pretty routine, and of course since their room was devoid of one person, she felt like both she and Ana were getting ready in a quieter environment. It had been weird, spending the majority of the second semester alone with Ana since they had always had a roommate. But of course at least she had still kept Ana as her roommate and that made her happy. But still it was quiet as she did her hair and her gaze kept going towards the clock, she still had plenty of time to do everything.
That was the one good thing about doing things early, she was never guaranteed to be late to all of these events. She had told Dom to just meet her in the ballroom, that way he could at least catch up with anyone else who was coming to this event, that had already graduated. Or maybe with his sisters, she knew they were bound to be around the event as well. There was about half an hour before the ball was supposed to start and she was basically all ready to go. All she had to do was put on her dress and shoes and she would be all set. She knew that would only take a few minutes so she allowed herself to relax, and not worry about her exam on Monday. She was pretty sure that all teachers had avoided giving them too much homework this weekend because they had known it would be difficult to do homework when prep for school events took all day. But of course her economics professor had pointed out that he needed to assess what they needed to focus on in the last few weeks of school before review began. This had obviously been met with grumbles, even from Nada who tended not to complain about anything, but she pushed all of those thoughts away. She wanted to focus on having a nice time with Dom tonight and enjoying her last rose ball at Vineheart. Last year’s had been quite eventful, and she honestly hoped that this year’s was a little less eventful. But you could honestly never be sure when it came to Vineheart events, it always felt like there was something big looming in the distance, drama-wise. By the time she looked at her clock and she could hear Ana going through her drawers she realized that it was time to get dressed, so she hurried into her closet and slid on her dress, and she grabbed her heels. She had five minutes to get to the ballroom upstairs, and meet Dom. She put on her shoes as she grabbed her clutch, making sure everything she needed was in there before she headed out the door towards the ballroom. There were so many people dressed up and walking around that she couldn’t help but smile, this would be fun. Finally she got to the ballroom, the doors were wide open so she stepped inside, trying to locate Dom and she finally spotted him. She made her way towards him, a smile on her lips.
“Hey stranger” she said as she reached him.
