PersonalityLOYAL
When you’re working 24/7 for Aubrey, you’re either loyal or your head’s served to her on a silver platter. That’s just the way the world works. Ellie hasn’t known a day in her life that she wouldn’t have been loyal to the utmost to the princess, even to the extent that people call her crazy, especially those who dislike Aubrey. But Ellie is probably one of the few next to Aubrey’s family that the princess is sort of honest with, even though it might be iffy. Truth be told, having practically grown up with this position as a foreshadow of the future, Ellie is just one of those people who would do anything for the one they serve, and she knows it’s bordering on insane. But that’s just who she is.
BUBBLY
Now who said that just because it’s Aubrey you can’t be happy and smiling? Ellie definitely has a sunny disposition and it would take quite a lot to put her down. Especially if things are going according to plan. She doesn’t usually have a mapped-out schedule of what she should or has to do, but she does have things organised in a way that lets her be her positive, happy self easily. It might get on Aubrey’s nerves sometimes, but Ellie would go into her grave swearing that, sometimes, the princess of Belgium does go from dangerously glum to moderately calm when she’s around and trying to cheer her up. She’d also die before renouncing her mantra of ‘positive outcomes only’. People say her bubbly and playful nature is a result of who she’s serving. Ellie argues it’s just who she is.
PROTECTIVE
So maybe she’s a girl, but being with Aubrey has definitely taught Ellie a thing or two. One: you can never be overprotective, not-in your own mind’s eye. Some things have definitely rubbed off and Ellie would do anything to make sure no harm comes to the people she loves, even lie if she has to, despite the fact she despises lies. But if that’s the price to pay then so be it. She might get irrational in her quest sometimes, and she admits that she can lose her focus when it comes to protecting people. Oddly enough, the number one priority on her list is actually Aubrey, and not her brother, who is a close second. But spending almost her whole life close to the princess just does that to a person.
NAIVE
Well, no one said fairy tales have all around happy endings. Naivete is something that could definitely pose problems for Ellie along the road. You’d think that, with Aubrey in the picture, she’d get a firm grip on reality, but it’s quite the opposite - she’s sort of a dreamer who doesn’t think bad of anyone, or better said thinks the whole world should be a nice place. She’s never had a serious boyfriend or relationship, actually, she’s never been kissed. Sad, I know. She’s always put her princess’ priorities before her own and she’ll gladly postpone her love life for it, then again prince charming could be waiting just around the corner and she doesn’t even know it yet.

History
Elise was born as first daughter to an empoverished noble family. Her father Eduard had once been an influential member of the Belgian court, but his gambling had pushed his family to near poverty. It was a common occurence at the time, when nobles lived like there was no tomorrow. He had to leave court with his wife, who was heavily pregnant with their first child, but little Elise never really missed anything as a child. She was dotted on by both her parents, and when her brother was born they were one big happy family. An interesting occurence was that she’d been born just a day after the birth of the crown princess of Germany. Maybe that was what inspired her parents for her future. As a daughter of a poor nobleman she could never really think of reaching high, but she could be sent to court as a servant.
Ellie didn’t want to go at first. She liked the countryside. She liked the fact that when she got up she got to feed the chickens, ride a horse bareback across the fields, barefooted runs across the grass. She didn’t kick up a fuss, but she wasn’t the happiest child to ever leave her home. She’d much prefer to stay with her brother, but then she wasn’t really in control of her own destiny. The school they sent her too was full of girls who were being groomed for the same fate - to someday be servants to one of the nobles at court. Ellie didn’t think she was anything special, though she performed her duties to her best and studied what they had them study. So she was more than surprised when she was chosen, out of the many girls there, to be taken to the palace for further education on etiquette, as she was to serve princess Aubrey who was not only in need of a servant, but, as rumors that were too often circulating, someone who wouldn’t run away from her personality.
Petrified at first, Ellie was captivated by Aubrey from the moment she first met her and swore she would do everything in her power to keep the princess happy. Slowly, she adjusted to court life, though she still missed her family, but she was well-off now, and she got word that her brother would also be sent to the same lessons she’d been, so she would see him a lot more. Maybe someday luck would also favour their father again and he would become rich. But she didn’t care much about that once Aubrey - and also herself - started at Vineheart. It was a whole new experience to her, but she loved every moment of it, and still is.
