glaciers melting in the - - - * * DEAD OF NIGHT[/sup] Demetra hated dressing up more than anything, but the sad fact was that she had to. Some way or another, each and every day she ended up in one of the many dresses or skirts that infiltrated her closet. She always tried to get rid of them, but they kept coming back. She wasn’t very fond of this, but being a princess came with a price and hers was having to wear a dress basically all the time. She sighed to herself and told herself that at least this time it was for a good cause that she was actually somewhat excited for. That didn’t happen too often, especially when it had to do with people. Deme was way too shy to get excited for social gatherings, but this one was different. She was meeting with her brother’s fiancé and she couldn’t be more excited, or more nervous.
She sat at the table waiting for Nada impatiently. She had never really been one for patience, especially when it came to something she was anxious about. She squirmed in her chair and tugged at the ends of her dress. This would be the first time that she spent time with Nada without her elder brother being there. Sure she loved Nada when it was the three of them, but she was scared that the whole night was going to be full of awkward silence. Deme wasn’t good at conversing, especially when she was nervous. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes for a second. It’s going to be alright. Calm down. She opened her eyes just as Nada walked in.
Before she could even think she was standing up waiting to great Nada with a hug. Ok so maybe it wasn’t going to be that difficult. It wasn’t as if Nada was a completely stranger. And hey, Dom loved her so she obviously was a great person. Deme had the highest respect for her elder brother and trusted him with everything. If he told her someone was a good person she would believe him, no questions asked. Now all she had to do was get through tonight and hope that Nada liked her the same amount after being all awkward and well a shy fifteen year old.

can we PRETEND that airplanes in the NIGHT sky are like shooting STARS
i could REALLY use a wish right now, WISH right now, wish right NOWTonight was the first time she would be having dinner with one of Dom’s sisters, without having him actually present at the dinner. She had suggested it to Demetra when she had come across the younger girl on her way down to the gym for tennis drills. The younger girl was shy, much like Nada had been the first year or so of Vineheart, though she soon learned how to be a little more outspoken. But she was getting distracted, she had thought that it would be a good idea to have dinner with her. They hadn’t had much time for interactions, at least not one on one interaction. Both of Dom’s sisters had been present at the engagement party in August, and even then she had to make sure she thanked everyone for coming that she hadn’t been able to speak to either of his sisters for more than five minutes. She wanted Demetra to like her, and not think that she was taking away her big brother because that was not what she was doing at all. She understood that sometimes it happened when younger siblings had a strong bond with their eldest siblings, and she just wanted to make sure that she liked her.
So they were having dinner at the lantern, even though the last time she had set foot in there for a dinner it had been that awkward dinner she had with Mira and her (well their) mother. She brushed the thoughts away as she grabbed her bag and made her way out, the car would be waiting for her to take her to the restaurant. It was chilly, the snow was beginning to melt and hopefully it would soon begin to disappear. So she had to be quick in getting into the car, before she ran the risk of turning into a popsicle given the length of her dress. Luckily she didn’t feel too much of the cold as she slid into the car, and instructed the driver to take her to her destination. She looked at the time on her phone, hoping that she’d get there in time to meet her. Nada hated being late to places, it was one of those things that she hated because if she didn’t like being kept waiting she was sure other people didn’t appreciate it either. Luckily for her there really wasn’t traffic, and they arrived at the lantern in a good amount of time. She was sure that the younger girl would already most likely be seated, because it had taken her a little longer to find her shoes, but not so long that she was late. She gave her name, and sure enough the waiter led her to the table where Demetra was already waiting for her. The other girl was obviously going to give her a hug, one which she returned with enthusiasm because well she liked the younger girl. Just because they hadn’t interacted much, it didn’t mean that she didn’t think she was sweet, and kind of adorable in that same sense as she thought her brother and most of the younger students at Vineheart were adorable.
“I hope I didn’t keep you waiting long” she said, "I was afraid I would be late, but thankfully there was no traffic”

glaciers melting in the - - - * * DEAD OF NIGHT[/sup] A shy smile crept on Deme’s face as she embraced Nada. She instantly felt a little bit better. She took a breathe and sat back down. Tonight was going to be great. They were going to talk, she was going to get to know Nada better, and hey maybe she would find the older sister she had always wanted. Sure she had Des, but it wasn’t as if Deme could go to Des if she had problems. No, Deme would only ever go to Des if she was in serious trouble and Dom wasn’t able to help her. Sure the girls weren’t the closest ever, but she knew if she really needed her, Deme could depend on her. They were family after all.
Deme pushed the thoughts of her older sister out of her mind and let herself be present in the situation. ‘No, I just got here a few minutes ago.’ So far so good. No stuttering, no hyperventilating, and no weird pauses. For some reason Nada put her at ease. Maybe it was because she was marrying her brother whom she loved so dearly. She knew Dom wasn’t going to marry someone who didn’t mesh with him and Deme knew that someone who was like Des would not mesh with Dom. For this she was grateful. She could barely handle one of Des, she didn’t know if she could ever handle two of her.
‘Ya, the streets are strangely bare tonight.’ It wasn’t as if they were always crammed with cars, they just had less than normal. Deme picked up her water glass that she had gotten before Nada had arrived and took a sip. ‘So how have you been?’ That was a standard question to ask right? Deme thought so. She barely knew the girl so that sounded like a good way to start things off. She didn’t really want to ask anything too big. Deme was sort of counting on the fact that Nada might move the conversation along. She had seen how her and Dom had acted at their engagement party and she saw how Nada had interacted with everyone. If she could entertain that many people Deme was sure that she could move conversation along with her fiancé’s youngest sister. Deme took another sip of her water and crossed her legs under the table. Tonight was going to be fine, she just had to keep telling herself that. and the superstars sucked into THE SUPERMASSIVE * * - - - [/sup] TAGGED;; nada WORDS;; 404 OUTFITT;; here NOTES;; deme is beyond nervous! can we PRETEND that airplanes in the NIGHT sky are like shooting STARS
i could REALLY use a wish right now, WISH right now, wish right NOWNada could understand that things would be a little awkward for the younger girl. After all they had never really had any time alone with one another because Dom was usually the one who ended up bringing them together. Not that she minded that they were finally spending some one on one time together, she honestly had hoped they would have done it long before this. But the constant flurry of things she had to do had only just allowed her to have some sort of bonding time with her. It would be easier once she chose a new captain of the tennis team and a new editor to take over when she left, and then of course the wedding planner who was irritating Nada to a degree. She knew the woman wanted to do her job, but the constant calls and badgering about color schemes and patterns, it was close to driving her crazy. But she pushed the thoughts aside as she settled down on her chair and one of the servers came to offer her a glass of water and a menu. She had been here enough times to know the basics of what they served, but still she appreciated the attention.
“Okay good, I hate getting to places late, and I know some people don’t like to wait” she said with a smile.
She nodded as Deme said that the streets were bare, but she was sure things would start picking up later. After all most of them would be heading to the ice box in cabs and cars to have a fun night. Nada didn’t frequent the bar much, she had been there a few times in the past year, but it wasn’t like she was a hard core party girl. Still she didn’t comment on that because it was a rather useless topic. She had gotten the feeling that Dom’s youngest sister wasn’t as talkative as one would expect her to be. She had a rather shy demeanor that Nada found quite endearing, and it made her want to sort of prod her out of her shell. Obviously that would take some time, and of course Nada’s social nature would make her the one to start conversation between the two. She knew that it would be simple enough because she was curious about the younger girl, the things she liked to do, and other things that would allow her to get to know her better. After all Nada was pretty sure she knew Dom well, after all they had been together more than a year and she had gotten a very good handle on him even before they started dating, she wanted to be able to say she knew his sister well too. At her question she smiled at her, she was trying to make the other girl feel more comfortable so she wouldn’t feel like Nada was going to snap at her or anything like that.
“I’ve been good, just dealing with school and of course wedding plans, I’m actually thinking of going to look for a dress next week, if you would like to join my friends and I?” she asked, “You don’t have to if you don’t want to, but you are obviously more than welcome to come with us”

glaciers melting in the - - - * * DEAD OF NIGHT[/sup] Surprisingly, Deme felt less awkward than she normally did. She figured it was because this was the girl who was going to be marrying her brother whom she loved with all of her heart. She had always been closest with her brother so the fact that he was getting married made her really happy for him. She knew that he would never marry someone who wasn’t perfect. So because of that Deme tried to be as confident as she possibly could be when around Nada. She was going to be family soon anyways. So the faster that she warmed up to her the better. Deme bit the inside of her lip, a bad habit she had, as she listened to Nada speak. ‘No I understand. I hate being late too, but every once in a while you can’t help it.’ Deme smiled back. She was beginning to feel herself calm down. She figured that that was why Dom loved Nada. There seemed to just be something calming about her presence. It was something that Deme very much appreciated since in most new and awkward situations she was always on edge.
‘How are the wedding plans coming along by the way?’ Every time that Deme asked Dom about them it seemed like he was so out of it. Not like she really expected him to know what was going on, but she figured there was no harm in asking. Come to think of it, she wasn’t even completely sure about when it was. Or worse, if she was going to be in the wedding party. The whole idea of being in the wedding party scared her a little because it meant she would have to talk to lots of people, but if Dom or Nada asked her she wouldn’t say no. She couldn’t say no to her older brother who had done so much for her. ‘I would love to come.’ Ok maybe love wasn’t exactly the right word, but she would like to come. Although she probably was going to be awkward the entire time she figured there couldn’t be any harm. Plus, hadn’t Sera been telling her lately that she needed to get out of her comfort zone? Of course she had been talking about boys, but hey baby steps. and the superstars sucked into THE SUPERMASSIVE * * - - - [/sup] TAGGED;; nada WORDS;; 381 OUTFITT;; here NOTES;; she's trying! can we PRETEND that airplanes in the NIGHT sky are like shooting STARS
i could REALLY use a wish right now, WISH right now, wish right NOWShe was hoping that Demetra wouldn’t feel too nervous, after observing her this past year she could tell that she was rather quiet. She sort of reminded Nada of Javie, and the way he had been before. He had come out of his shell a little more, and Nada knew that was because of who he spending a lot of time with. She hoped that the same thing would end up happening to her because she definitely had that potential. She knew that Sera wanted to work on her, and she hoped that the older girl wouldn’t be putting her sister in law through too much of an ordeal. Either way she focused on the other girl as she said that she understood about the disliking being late thing. Nada loved being punctual unless she could absolutely help it. There had been times that she had ended up being like five minutes late and she apologized profusely to the other person. No one seemed to mind that she was late sometimes, but she minded because it just went against her personality as a whole. Still she nodded at what the other girl said, sometimes you couldn’t really help being late. Especially when it came to outside forces, such as traffic which irritated Nada to no end.
“Well it’s something we have in common then, the whole we like to be punctual thing” she said with a smile.
She was trying to make her feel more welcome, especially because she didn’t want Deme to think that she was alienating her brother. After all he was marrying her, and then when they both finished school they would have to be in Serbia for when she took the throne. Well if she took the throne, but still that had been the original plan. At her question of how the wedding plans were going she paused for a second. They were going as well as could be expected, there was still so much to do and as the date got closer she felt like there was a bigger pressure on her. She knew that her deadline for a dress was the end of the month to make sure that it fit perfectly for her wedding day. She had been putting it off because of school, and of course newspaper and tennis planning. But she had finally made plans with all the girls about them joining her, since she wanted opinions. After all the women at the bridal shops always gushed how beautiful you looked, and that wasn’t what she needed. Especially if she decided on a dress that would not be flattering to her at all, and then she’d end up looking horrible on her wedding day. But she pushed all the thoughts away as Deme said that she would love to come, that was good. She wondered how busy Sera would be, because if the older girl wasn’t busy maybe she could ask her to come along to sort of help Deme along and not feel as intimidated by the flurry of older girls that would be with them.
“Planning is going okay, the closer we get to June the more pressure it becomes but right now we seem to be right on schedule” she said, “And great, I can text you the day we are going, so you can come with us”

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width: 350px; padding: 10px; background-image: url(http://i.imgur.com/w6MZf.png);] hey! is anybody out there Deme nodded with a smile. She knew she had liked Nada for a reason. She just got a long with her easily and they actually had quite a bit in common. She was glad that the girl would soon be joining their family. Plus, she could tell that Nada was good for Dom. He just seemed happier whenever he was around her or talked about her or anything involving her really. Deme was just happy that her brother was happy even if it meant not seeing him as much anymore. She was still going to be able to call him and visit and what not. He would always be her older brother, no matter what. ‘Ya, guess we do.’ The more Deme talked with Nada, the more at ease she felt. Which was good considering that she soon would be a part of their family. Deme knew she was going to fit right in. Well, at least with her. Deme had no idea how Nada got along with Des although if she was getting along with her she seriously doubted that Nada and Des completely clicked.
‘That’s good though. And it will be all worth it in the end.’ Deme gave her a reassuring smile. She had heard from Dom a bit about how the wedding planning was going, but she doubted he had put in much help. Not because he didn’t want to, but just because he was a guy and they didn’t seem to help a lot with weddings. Nada seemed a little stressed with the whole thing, but Deme knew that once it was over, or at least happening, she would forget all about the stress that was put into the huge event. ‘That would be great.’ It wasn’t as if Deme had a packed social calendar so whenever it happened she would be free to go. words: 310 - tags: nada - outfit: link |
