Personality
Deceptive* Looks can be deceiving. This is a trait that had only been brought in him when he began this charade. His mother being had been a single parent trying to raise a good son and Bastian did his very best to do right by his mother. Then Bastian found himself in this situation where he had to lie about basically everything and thus he had to master the art of deception quickly if he were going to do his job. Keeping secrets and telling lies has sadly become second nature to him now as much as a part of him hates himself for it.
Appears Sociable* How else would he be able to get along so well with the Ukrainians. He knew he had to look approachable if he was going to do his job right. In reality though this is actually a front to hide the fact that he is actually rather reserved. He prefers to avoid people, less people he meet the less he has to keep up the facade. Of course this is really only when he's in the presence of some adult or a non-royal or non-servant. If he is in the presence of noble or servant he must keep up appearances as the trusted servant of the Ukrainians.
Reliable* This is a matter of opinion I suppose. Bastian is the reliable type, after all the Hungarians are expecting him to give up all the juicy secrets that the Ukrainians spill. And the Ukrainians have known this guy for five years and have come to trust him knowing, or at least believing they know him, the kind of guy he is. He can count on him to get whatever task that is handed to him down.

History
Bastian was born the only son to Elizabeth and her boyfriend. The two had never gotten married and after about five years her boyfriend packed up his things leaving Bastian and his mother to fend for themselves. Elizabeth worked very hard to provide for both of them. She worked in the palace while Bastian attended school. The young boy knew how much his mother did to provide for the both of them and so he did his very best to remain an obedient and good mannered son. They did not live in the best of areas but they managed.
Then Bastian's mother began to grow sick. The medical bills began to grow steadily and it was beginning to become harder to pay for btoh living expenses and for proper treatments. That was Bastian began to work at the palace of Hungary and was able to bring another income that was much needed. Despite this though his mother was getting worse and they could not afford the necessary operation. That was when an opportunity arose. The chance to pay off all bills and get his mother the help she needed. In exchange for all that he would have to serve the Hungarian crown in different way than just in the palace. He'd had have to serve them as a spy placed in the Ukrainian palace as a servant to one of the children.
This went against he had been raised upon but his mother's health was on the line so despite his initial hesitation Bastian took the job on the condition that his mother would be taken care of. So within a month of taking on the task he was relocated. He took on the last name of his father and a took on the role of an orphan under the care of his aunt and uncle and that was how his new life in Ukraine began. His first task was to get close to the Ukraine children and that became easy when he was placed as the personal servant of Aramis. The next step was to gain their trust and although it took a while he was able to accomplish this.
He has lived in Ukraine for a little over five years. He has rarely ever sees Hungarian soil as to not create any type of suspicion. Although he does not get to see his mother as often as he would like she has flown to Ukraine a times to see her son. In the five years his mother has managed to recover completely and is now married with a baby on the way. Bastian couldn't be happier to become a big brother. His mother has asked on numerous occasion for him to stop the charade and ask for a replacement but Bastian knows that he is too far deep to be released now.
