WOAH! SAVE THE WORLD WOAH! GET THE GIRL! [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: B8B8B8; border: #550505 solid 4px; width: 400px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] For once in his life Raphael was early somewhere. Early! That was a rarity. And by rarity it meant it actually had never happened ever. He had been on time to social events and plans a few times before, but never early. Yet here he was at the Rose Ball before even Maggie herself who always seemed to beat him everywhere. Then again he was always late so it wasn't hard to beat him. He had asked Maggie to the Rose Ball a few weeks before and thankfully no one else had asked her yet. They had of course agreed to go as friends, but there was a small part of him that wished that there was a red rose in his hand to give her instead of a yellow. But they were just friends, that was it. Nothing more.
Raphael was leaning against the wall watching as others passed by happily going into the ball. Most had dates, but there was an unusual amount of people with pink roses. That was how he had been the past two years, but not this one. He had moved up one rose level. He sighed trying to tell himself that at least she said yes. Not that he figured she wouldn't. They were best friends. Why would she say no? He leaned his head against the wall, closing his eyes. He really was going to miss her over the break. Of course they would be able to talk and what not, but he wasn't going to be able to see her. That would be hard. She was always the one he could just sit there and do nothing with and she was going to be far away. Of course it was only a few months. He pushed the thoughts out of his mind. He just needed to focus on tonight and having fun with her at the Rose Ball.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]there's no sunrise --- The Rose Ball, she was pretty sure this was Vineheart’s attempt at some sort of prom. Now normally Maggie would have just made a quick appearance and just left to do something more productive. But as everyone had pointed out, the end of the year was approaching, and so were many of the school sports so it would be a good idea to just relax. There had been the problem of the fact that everyone that attended the ball without some sort of a date ended up with a dreaded pink rose. Not that there was anything wrong with the color, but still the fact that you had to walk around basically informing everyone you had no date had to be disastrous. It was why she had just avoided the ball the first two years she had been at Vineheart. But this year, Raph had suggested that they go together which had seemed like a good idea. After all he was her best friend, and they would certainly have a great time together. So she had accepted, knowing that at least this year she wouldn’t have to deal with the idea of having a pink rose pinned to her dress.
She hadn’t been sure what to wear, everyone was wearing short dresses or cocktail dresses but there weren’t any that called to her. Finally she spotted a rather formal looking gown at a store, and decided to go with it. The colors were beautiful, and even though it wasn’t something super bright it was still something she’d love to wear. She got ready with enough time, making sure that she wouldn’t be late to meet Raphael. Even if he was late most of the time, it still didn’t matter to her. After all it was always her habit to arrive places early, even If she was sure she’d get scolded for arriving anywhere on time. After all her sister was huge on being fashionably late, it was why she didn’t even bother to say goodbye after she had gotten ready, and of course her sister was nowhere in sight. Maggie was certain she’d see Lina at the ball, so she headed out the door of what was going to be their room for only a few more weeks, and headed up the stairs towards the ballroom. She often wondered why the school had chosen to put the ballroom at the top floor, probably a view thing, but it seemed silly to her. There were so many people in the hall that she didn’t feel subconscious about being there on time. She finally spotted her best friend leaning against the wall, as if he was observing the people who were passing him by and she made her way towards him. Relieved that he was there, but also surprised because she was usually the first to arrive between the two of them. It was just their thing, Raphael was always a little later than she was, and she never minded him being late. It was just one of the things that made him, him.
“Hey, you actually beat me” she said with a small laugh, “You haven’t been waiting long, have you?” tag: raphael lucien of luxembourg word count: 530 outfit: click here lyric credit: colbie caillat notes: hope this is okay |
