glaciers melting in the - - - * * DEAD OF NIGHT[/sup] The room was silent. When you were as shy as Deme was, it always tended to be like this. The only real exception was if she was with her brother. Or if her roommate was home. Connie always seemed to be asking questions so it was never quiet when she was around. Deme took a deep breath and looked out the window. It didn’t look too bad outside even though she knew it was going to be freezing once she finally did get up and leave her room. She figured she needed to do it soon or else she would end up in her room alone all day. She got up, slipped her shoes on and grabbed her notebook and a pen as she left the room.
Deme wandered the corridors for a little while gazing at faces she wasn’t completely familiar with. See this was another problem with being horribly shy, even when you’ve gone to a school for three years you still can’t exactly put names with faces. Sure you have a slight idea of whose who and can sort of see whose related and of course you know whose dating who because you always seem to be on the side lines watching, but you never truly know a lot of people. Deme pushed through the front door onto the lawn. The cold bit at her face and pierced through her thin sweater. She knew she was forgetting something. Deme tugged her hat a little more over her ears, feeling the floppy thing bounce against her neck. She took a deep breath and made her way on. No matter how cold it was she was bound and determined to get to her spot in the garden and write, dang it!
Before she could even reach her favorite spot small wet things began to fall on her. Great. Deme looked around her trying to find a good place to hide until this passed hoping it wouldn’t be too long. She spotted the stables, a place she really had never ventured before, and made her way over to it as fast as she dared so she wouldn’t slip. She heaved open the door and rushed inside. As the door closed behind her she pressed up against it giving a huff. She slid down the solid wood, pulling her knees as close as she could to her chest. She took a deep breath in letting the smells of the stables make her a bit dizzy. Why had she never been in here before? It wasn’t as if she didn’t know how to ride, it was her way to get away from the palace when she was home. Why hadn’t she done that here? Before she could contemplate this some more she heard the door she was leaning against start to creak. She jumped to her feet a little startled and certainly afraid. She looked around hurriedly trying to find a place to duck and hide so she wouldn’t have to interact with a stranger, but it was far too late.

Lately he had been doing all that he could to take his mind off the fact that he knew that Elena was not pleased with him, she was worried for him and did not want him to become a peace keeping officer in the army this summer. He knew that he was young and that he was too young to even join officially but he was just mainly going to be there for support anyways so why did it matter and there would be people that were watching over the prince of Monaco and really how many chances did a country like that have a chance to get goo publicity in order to back their army that was not the biggest to begin with. The whole country was not even the size of the largest park of New York how was it expected to be taken seriously? He really did understand where she was coming from in telling him that it was dangerous and even if he was going to be protected he was still going to be behind enemy lines and knowing that with all that had gone on with Fred in the last little while that the last thing he needed to do was add more stress but it was better for him to tell her now rather than just string her along and then tell her ten minutes before he needed to board the flight because knowing her she was already running through the plans of what they were going to do over the summer since he spend a lot of his time in Spain and she spent a lot of her time in change in Monaco. As his best friend they were practically joined at the hip and had been since the first year of school where they really befriended one another, fencing practices in secret had started not too long after that and while her parents thought that she was out doing some sort of dance the two were duelling and acting out different sword fights of the Pirates of the Caribean movies. It seemed a little silly to those that did not know the two of them but for the most part when he was not around Elena he was a different person, he was a little more reserved, polite and correct but when around her she was the one person that he really could be himself around and everyone needed that kind of person. With a small sigh the book that he had been reading and studying was closed and placed on top of his desk before then debating how he was going to spend the rest of his afternoon, he really could use to go for a jog and with that he tended to take the large warmblood stallion with him. Lio had always been a trusty jogging partner of the prince. It might look a little strange for him to be out on the trails with the horse in tow but it had been a bonding experience since the horse was quite young and it kept his mind occupied. Lio was not the easiest to handle but as long as he was kept exercised and his mind was kept active it was a lot easier for the staff of the stables to take care of him but still he picked and chose his favourites amongst the people that worked there, one favourite that he tended to have though was Elena, the horse had a way of seeing how much Zane really did care about his best friend.
He made his usual stop by the cafeteria to grab a carrot and an apple for the horse before heading towards the front door that would lead to the trail towards the stables. The weather had still not gotten too warm so his arms were wrapped around himself and his hands were placed in his pockets as long strides then carried him in that direction. The lake still looked like it was frozen over meaning that it was too icey for the horses to get out of their stalls since the staff did not want to have to worry about the horses getting injured. When he reached the door it was already being pulled open by someone else and he stepped into the barn the warmth that the horses provided when they were all in their stalls was enough to cause him to stop shivering. He almost bumped into someone at the door though and quickly stopped himself from walking into her, a bright smile crossed his face in a friendly gesture. Hey sorry I didn't see you there, I almost walked into you. He uttered politely. He was tempted to ask her if she was alright since she looked like she was just about ready to jump out of her skin but that did not seem to be too polite. You are Demetra right? I don't believe we have ever met but I think we have a few classes together. He told her. I'm Zane. He almost forgot to introduce himself since the two really had never met but he just tended to be quite good with names and recognizing the people that were around the school.

glaciers melting in the - - - * * DEAD OF NIGHT[/sup] Deme was like a statue. She couldn’t move even if she tried to will herself with every ounce of her body. She was stuck there, standing in front of the door like an idiot while who knew walked in. She was just praying that it was someone she knew. At least then they would understand why she looked completely and totally petrified. If it was some stranger though she knew it was going to turn out even worse. She could feel her foot start to tap with nerves. She concentrated just on her foot, yelling at it in her mind to stop. It was that moment that the door seemed to open. In Deme’s mind she had been standing there for an eternity and it was just now opening, when in actuality it could have been opened for the longest time and she wouldn’t have noticed. She took a deep breath and took in the face that appeared from behind the door. It was a familiar face, but she didn’t really know the boy. She had seen him around and she was pretty sure they were in the same year, but she wasn’t one hundred percent positive. Her ears perked a little as she heard his voice. She closed her eyes tightly for a second, willing her inner self to quiet down so she could listen to the boy. She really was trying to make an effort not to be so weird and awkward.
Deme gulped before letting herself answer the boy. ‘It’s ok. I was the one sitting against the door.’ Her voice was barely audible and she knew it. Why couldn’t she be like everyone else? As much as she was glad she wasn’t her sister it was times like these where she wished she could channel her inner Des. ‘Um…ya I am.’ How in the frick did he know her name? She didn’t understand how the entire population of the school could remember everyone and their mother, yet her who basically all she did was sit and watch people couldn’t remember one single name. Ironic. As he mentioned being in a few classes together Deme could picture it. When people mentioned things she could remember weird things like where they sat in the class or who they talked to, but never a name. Go figure. ‘Ya we had English together and you sat in the back corner next to…some guy with brown hair.’ Deme knew the name was right on her tongue, but if she couldn’t even remember this guy’s name how could she remember the name of the guy he sat next to in English class.

The weather was still very unpredictable and would not be consistent again until spring finally made it here and melted all the ice as well as the snow that had just recently fallen. The horses were all starting to get antsy since they were not being allowed out in the weather when it was icey but then again that was something that was hopefully going to change in the next little while and that was going to mean that the stallion that he owned was going to be in a much better mood than he was right now. When he made it the barn though and opened the door he almost ran into the girl that looked like she was hiding from someone in the barn and he was about to make a comment about that but stopped himself, it was none of his business but he did worry about it. The lights were off and he moved towards the switch in order to then bathe them in the fluorescent lighting that he was so accustomed to, if anything he spent most of his time in the barn here. He recognized the girl and knew that she was one of the younger sisters of the Netherlands, he did have to admit that he never really had spoken much too her though. She seemed to be quite shy and for the most part he was off in his own group when hanging out with his friends, he barely even managed to have enough time for them. She was looking at her feet and looking quite awkward but that did not stop him from the bright greeting that he gave her. He offered her a bright smile when she stated that she had been the one that was sitting against the door in the first place when he apologized but really it did not matter to him whos fault it was he still felt bad to spook her even if was just in her nature. He was pleased that he was right in knowing her name and there was a small smile that crossed his face. He nodded when she stated that they had English together and that he sat in the back with a brown haired guy. Yah, Nate. He uttered lightly. So do you ride? He asked gesturing to the barn that was around them since that tended to be one of the only reasons that people came to the barn, the prissier of girls tended to think that the place stunk even if the staff members kept the place completely spotless with the amount of Royals and their horses that passed through the hallways. To him there was nothing like the smell of fresh hay and sawdust but he supposed that was just because he grew up with it. He took a few steps backwards towards the front of the stall behind him given that his horse was the closest to the door since he was only able to have one horse on his one side since he was a stallion. The large bay horse stuck his head out of the door and looked rather placid expressive eyes resting on the girl that he did not know, he had always been quite observant.
He placed hand against the muzzle of the horse before turning his attention in the girls direction. This is Lio. He offered the horse a small carrot that he had broken apart in his hand. The horse had always been such a large part of his life and there was no changing that even when he was now in Vineheart given that the stallion travelled back and forth from Monaco everytime he was staying in one place for an extended period of time. He had been bred at the Royal stables of Monaco and was the first choice for Zane when he was younger and through many trials and tribulations the two seemed to come to an understanding of one another now. The horse was not the easiest to get along with given that he was a stallion and the staff members tended to have a lot on their hands when they were around him but around Zane he was a least respectful but he acted the best around Elena, where he just melted into a large teddy bear when she was around. It was a little ridiculous but he knew that it was to do with the fact that he was so protective over the girl as well for therefore Lio decided to be the same. It was impossible for the horse not to be on the forefront of his mind when he was in the barn though so he did need to drag his attention away from the animal in order to address the girl in front of her and judge the response.

glaciers melting in the - - - * * DEAD OF NIGHT[/sup] Deme’s breathing was starting to even out. Even though she was feeling extremely awkward still, she was trying to let herself break out of her shell. Deme bit on her lower lip and looked up at the boy. She shifted her weight from one foot the other telling herself to just breathe and possibly pretend the boy was Dom. That should do the trick. Think of her older brother. He always calmed her down. ‘Ya that one.’ She offered a weak smile. She couldn’t help but feel her apprehension set back in as she thought of actually meeting the other boy a few days prior. He had been the first boy to actually come and talk to Deme so just thinking about it made her feel more nervous. She took a few more breathes telling herself that this was nothing like the incident in the café and she just needed to stay calm. ‘Back home I do a bit. I haven’t been since I’ve been here though.’ Deme shrugged not really knowing why she hadn’t been riding at Vineheart. She guessed it was easier to get away from everybody on foot there than it was in the Netherlands.
She slowly made her way over to the horse. She stuck her hand out for the horse to smell before she placed her hand on his nose. Her smile grew a bit as she gently petted the horse. ‘How long have you had him?’ Deme thought about their horses back in the Netherlands. She had had her horse Uno since before she could remember. Why she never had him brought to Vineheart with her never really crossed her mind. He was her horse there where she didn’t have to worry about grades or interacting with people. He was the friend that she turned to back home, especially when Dom had first gone to school. And now Dom was going to be married so it looked like once again it was just her and Uno.

There was no denying that this girl was by no means comfortable around him and he did have to admit that he was not used to it, sure he was tall and sometimes intimidating but he was so used to being around people like Elena who were so bold and forcing their presence on him, he knew how to respond to that he knew that he could always joke around with the Spanish princess and that would clear up anything between them but what did you manage to do to break the ice when someone was acting awkward around you? He was out of his element in this one that was for sure but he was nothing but polite, a small smile crossing his lips and reaching his eyes, azure colored eyes were soft and warm and for a moment they were turned away from her to settle on the large bay stallion that was already watching him from where he was standing at the door and he knew that the stallion would love for him to be within reach so he could surely nudge him out of the way since that seemed to be a favourite past time of the animal, nudging him so he managed to trip over his own two feet and then he could stand there and look so incredibly innocent the entire time it happened.
She seemed to know who he was already which did make it a little less awkward since he already knew her name since he was quite good with names, something that would eventually come in handy when he needed to attend a lot of functions with his older brother in Monaco, no one liked a prince that was not able to remember someones name. He made a point to know all the people that he went to class with since you did not know when you were going to be running into them in the real world and then after classes like right now and it made him look like he was a little more attentive. There was a small smile that quirked lips upwards when she stated that it was Nate that she was talking about referring to when he was in class and who he managed to sit next to. He was certainly friendly and he would do all that he could to make her feel a little more comfortable with just being around him but he did not know what was going to do that. She commented that she had been riding when she was back in the Netherlands but not around here. Oh I see, I could not stand to not be able to ride. He uttered, and it really was an outlet for him that he could not live without. I am sure that if you wanted to ride there are quite a few horses around here who's owners don't seem to be around. He commented and smiled when she took a step up to where the horse was standing, looking a lot more comfortable around the animal than she was around him in the first place. Lio snorted lightly before then turning his interest on the shy girl and extending his muzzle to where she was standing and nudging her gently.
She asked him when he got the horse and smile only grew. About five years ago, he was a yearling that was bred in Monaco. He uttered placing a hand on the horses neck. I got my pick out of all the horses that were bred there and he just seemed to be the one with the most personality. He commented with a shrug and he really knew that it was true since the horse always seemed to have him on his toes. It was hard to keep him focused a lot of the time and he was a complete show off when he stepped into the show jumping ring so therefore he made a perfect jumper, he took pride in not hitting the rails of the jumps. Do you have your own horse back in the Netherlands? He really could not picture going anywhere without the large stallion he was not looking forward to the summer where he was going to be taking part in a peace keeping mission that was going to take him away from his family and his friends for the three months and therefore away from his horse.

glaciers melting in the - - - * * DEAD OF NIGHT[/sup] Deme hated that this was how she acted when she got around people she didn’t know. She really couldn’t help it though. The only person who had really interacted with her while she was growing up was Dom. Des had always gotten the attention from their parents. Not like Deme really minded, that just was why she was how she was. As awkward as she felt though she was feeling a little bit better. This wasn’t like her last encounter with some random boy. He wasn’t flirting with her and he wasn’t trying to touch her. She appreciated that he was just, well being a friend she guessed. She barely knew the boy and she never had many friends, but the way he was treating her was how the people she actually did open up to treated her. She could feel the tension from her body start to leave and a small smile reach her face. She could do this. Meeting new people wasn’t that hard. She just had to realize they weren’t all trying to purposefully make her uncomfortable.
She shrugged at the comment. As much as she loved riding, it wasn’t something that she had to have or else she would die. Now writing was a different story and it was much easier to take that around with her. ‘I might just have to do that.’ It would be nice to get back up on a horse even if it wasn’t her horse. Although she had been counting down the days until she got to return to the Netherlands. There was so much she missed about home. She mostly missed her little hiding place by the river that Des never seemed to be able to find her in. Here at Vineheart, Des always seemed to know where she was whenever she wanted something from her. As much as Deme loved her sister, it was nice to get away. Deme let her hand gently slide against the horse’s muzzle and let her weak smile become a little bit bigger. She had always been able to interact with things that weren’t human better than she had with the people that surrounded her, and this was no exception.
‘That’s really cool. It’s always good to get a horse that suits you.’ Deme smiled thinking about Uno. It seemed like he had been her companion for ages. She remembered the day that Dom left for Vineheart the first time. She had closed herself off more than usual, terribly missing her big brother. Even though her parents were concerned they hadn’t really done anything. Instead she turned to her horse and writing. She had been through so much with the animal and in that moment she wondered why she never brought him to Vineheart. ‘Ya I do. His name is Uno.’ Deme continued to gently pet the horse, now more than ever missing her trusty side kick back home.

He really did not know the way that he was supposed to act around someone that was this shy since there were not too many people that he was around that were painfully timid. Most of the Royals grew up in the spotlight or at least in the shadows of their older siblings which meant that they were used to the attention and they were used to public events. Elena was very outgoing and she had been the one that he was around the most often, the Spanish princess was sometimes even a little too headstrong for her own well being. Even Ari who was a little more quiet was not this shy and even though Dragan seemed like he could be with a lot of other people the two had been room mates from the very start of his first year and the two had long since gotten over the initial feelings of shyness. He was not the most outgoing of people since he was a lot more laid back and a lot of people did not even experience Zane talking too much but he had no problem in social situations. That was not meaning that this was hard for him he just wished that there was a way that he could make her feel a little more comfortable. She seemed like she was a deer in the headlights right now and that she might run with no notice at all the next moment that she was given and he did not want that. He interest had been cause in the shy princess of the Netherlands and he was left to wonder if there was a reason for it besides just being her personality. Was there a reason that she was not comfortable around people? Really though he would never push for answers and he would never be that forward so they were going to be things that were left to just be wondered in the back of his mind and never answered. This was something that was quite refreshing for him though given that he was used to the pressure of people forcing themselves at your with such vigor. He did know what it was like to be the middle child or in her case the last child and the attention was often on your brother and sister but with him at least he was still prepared in the same way just in case, who was to know if his brother would one day decide that he was going to marry someone at Vineheart who was first in line and did not have someone to pass the throne down to, he did not want to think of the other reasons he might get the throne though because he was protective of his brother and never wanted to even consider the possibility of losing the older brother that he looked up to so much as a kid. The fact that he was off in college now created a bit of a distance and a rift between the two of them but then again that was just the stage that they were going through right now and he was sure that as soon as he graduated as well which was going to be in two years he would be off to college as well and maybe the two would be close once again. He was not the type to just flirt with someone that he had just met, well he really was not the type to flirt with anyone at all given that he was a little helpless when it came to the opposite gender but that did not even cross his mind with her, first of all she was not even comfortable standing there, why drive her away even more so?
There were a lot of people that seemed to like to ride but then again there were only a handlful that seemed to be as serious about it as he was. He had always dreamt that he would one day manage to get on the national showjumping team, but for that he would need a lot more time to devote to it. He was very competitive when it came to the sport and Lio allowed him to be that way, there were not too many other horses that could compete with the stallion when he was on one of his best days but a lot of the people that he was competing against were ones that spent their entire life riding and preparing for these things, he had a really great coach but he was also a Prince and had other things that came first. He suggested to her that there were a lot of horses in the barn that did not get ridden very often and he thought back to the day that he had been teaching Elena a little more and the horse that he had borrowed named Dandy and there was a small smile in remembering how well behaved the horse was even if what happened while they were riding was not the best memory, since that had been when he had told her that he was going to be away for the summer, on the mission with the army of Monaco. When she then started to smile at him and seemed a little more relaxed he in turn felt the same way because the last thing that he wanted to do was intimidate her. She uttered that it was always good to get a horse that suited you and he really did have to agree with that. Yes for sure, I am quite lucky, he's a lot of fun to compete on. He smiled when she told him that she did have a horse back home and this name was Uno.

glaciers melting in the - - - * * DEAD OF NIGHT[/sup] Deme wondered why she had never been in stables before. She really liked it in there the more time she spent there. It was warm and inviting unlike the bitter wind outside the door. She actually did know the reason why she hadn’t been there before. There were two actually. One her horse wasn’t even there so why do. The second was that there always seemed to be people there. Deme didn’t hate people by any means, she just wasn’t the most fond of making small talk. This whole situation seemed to be different though. She was getting along with this boy and she was starting to enjoy their conversation and loosen up. This was good for her. She just had to keep repeating it to herself. This was good for her. The more she broke out of her comfort zone the less shy she would be and the more confident. She just had to keep that thought in the back of her mind. If she wanted to be doing more than sitting outside or alone at the café and writing the next year she was going to have to force herself to open up, at least a little.
She gave a soft smile as she patted the horse’s muzzle. ‘Ya I bet.’ Deme turned to look at Zane with a small smile. Ok she could do this. She could make conversation with this boy without becoming totally nervous and on edge. Heck, she had somehow managed to do that when Nate had approached her the other day. How that happened she was still unsure. She was still under the assumption that the boy had voodoo magic and was using it to make her become her sister. She pushed those thoughts out of her mind, deciding she wouldn’t dwell on the other boy and the fact that he did weird things to her personality. ‘So are you excited for the end of the term? I’m so ready to be home for a while.’ There, that wasn’t too hard, was it? Just a simple question. She knew that it would probably spark a question from him, but she told herself she could handle it. She would just take this conversation one step at a time and somehow she would get through it without being jittery.

It seemed that third year was going to be the start of something a lot more hectic because already he could feel that next year when he was going to be a protege and then the year after that he was going to be a King of Vineheart and that was just another priority that he was going to have to worry about amongst soccer practice and then swimming practice and keeping the large bay stallion fit so he did not break the walls of the barn down. He did not know how he was going to manage to juggle all this along with cooking classes with Ari and then spending time with his friends. He was feeling a lot more refreshed after the camping trip that he had taken Elena on since the two of them had really needed to get away since they were not going to be able to spend summer together. Sometimes it was nice to get away from the school and just be able to forget that they were Royals for a litle while and just act like teenagers.
Remembering back to when he had told her about Lina flirting with him and the way that she had responded and he really did not know what to make of it since she had almost seemed jealous and there was a side of him that really liked that she cared all that much since he was sure that her only reasoning was not to do with the fact that she thought the Austrian princess was vain and shallow. The rest of the trip had been amazing though and camping out on the top of the mountain was exactly what he needed in order to then return to the school. Glancing at the girl in front of him he could not help but smile, she was a lot different than the other princesses here and that was a welcome change given that the rest were always so stick up and arrogant and doing their best to climb every social ladder possible with no concerns as to who they were hurting on the way up. Elena was not that like that though and he was very glad. She would rise to the top of the food chain on her own accord without having to stomp on anyones feet in order to get here. She seemed like she was starting to get a little more comfortable with him as the time was passing by and that was a good thing because there was no way that he wanted to stand there and act awkward for the next little while. She really did seem like a sweet girl, one that he would not mind befriending if he was given the chance. When he stated that the horse was a lot of fun to compete on he smiled gently at her response and he was rather surprised that the stallion was taking to her that well since he was not the easiest horse to get along with and a lot of the other people around the barn were sure to steer clear of his stall. It was not like he was a monster or anything he was just high strung and if you were not completely sure of yourself when you were around him there was no saying what might happen.
She then asked him if he was looking forward to the end of the semester and he nodded lightly. In some ways yes. He felt like he really could be honest with her since she really did not seem like there were too many people that she would be telling so why not allow her to know what he was dreading. I unfortunately do not get to go home for the break though, I am going on a peace keeping mission with the French army, the division that is stationed in Monaco. He uttered. So I am definitely looking forward to that but its going to be tough to be away from my home country the entire time and then fourth year will mean a whole bunch of new stresses. He explained. Shivering lightly with the cold air that seemed to be passing through the barn he shoved his hands in the pocket of his jacket. Would you like to join me for a hot drink of some sort? I can't believe how cold it is still for spring. He uttered.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width: 350px; padding: 10px; background-image: url(http://i.imgur.com/w6MZf.png);] hey! is anybody out there Deme shook her head a little at his answer. She wasn’t one to pry so she decided if he wanted to expand he would. Before she could really continue that thought process he continued on. Guess he was fine with explaining why. She nodded a little as he spoke, really listening to what he was saying. ‘That’s still a cool way to spend your summer even if it will be hard work.’ Deme couldn’t imagine doing something like that over the summer. Of course her parents would never let her. Not just because she was a girl, but because they had important events going on that summer, namely Dom’s wedding. She wouldn’t miss that for the world. He was her big brother who had always been there for her and she would be there for him on his big day. That was just at the beginning of the summer though. Deme planned to spend the rest of her summer by her favorite little creek writing every day. That was how she spent most of her time when she was home so why would she change it? It wasn’t as if anything was going to change in how Des acted whenever they were home. She would still act as if she owned the place and have their parents doing everything for her. Not like that really bothered her, it was just how life was.
‘That would be great.’ Deme hadn’t really even noticed how cold it was because of how nervous she had gotten. Now that she had relaxed a bit though she could feel the cold hit her. It didn’t help that she was just wearing a thin sweater too. ‘Shall we go to the café?’ Deme had been avoiding the café a bit lately. She hadn’t wanted something like what had happened when she was there last time to happen again. No, no random boys coming up to talk to her again. Of course she went in to get food, but she quickly left instead of hanging around and writing for a bit. Dem made her way to the door, opening it and wincing as the cold air washed over her. ‘Wanna make a run for it?’ she asked with a small smile, not really wanting to spend much time in the cold anyways. words: 385 - tags: zane - outfit: link |

He did not know why he had even told her about where he was going this summer because it was not something that he was telling just anyone since he was quite a private person and really the only ones that knew right now were Elena and Sera and that was because they were the closest people to him, he loved his cousin was Luxembourg and he was closer to her than he was even with his brother and sister but that was just because the two of them did not have to spend as much time together as he did with the rest of his family, the way that the two of them saw one another was when the other wanted to come and visit and perhaps it was better off that way where they were not too forced. She mentioned that it was a cool way to spend the summer and he nodded lightly. I am definitely looking forward to it even though its going to be quite tough, I have been training with the army since I was thirteen though. He uttered with a small shrug and a step back to where he then opened the horses stall door, he wanted to change the blanket that was on the horse since it was supposed to be quite cold for the night even though it was supposed to be getting warmer and closer to summer and spring everyday. The temperatures in Montana seemed to switch so suddenly that they left you feeling exhausted and stricken with the sudden heat. There was a lot that he should be in Monaco for over the summer as well since he was a part of a lot of the same events that his brother was, the family was quite united in that way and even though he was second in line he still managed to take up a lot of spotlight to be there for his brother when it was needed but this summer he was not going to be around and while it was going to be strange for all of them it was also something that was very important and something that he wanted to do when he was young and before he was not able to get away it was better for him to do it now rather than in a few years where he needed to worry about college and being older. As he finished changing the horses blanket and then stepping back out of the stall he secured the door before asking her if she wanted to go back to the school and get a hot drink with him at the cafe and given how shy she had been to start he was rather surprised when she agreed without a problem. He was looking forward to getting to know a little more about her since she was genuinely a mystery and there were not too many people that knew anything about her at all since she was so shy. He nodded when she asked if they should head to the cafe and he stepped closer to the door.
And when she asked if he wanted to make a run for it he grinned. Sounds like a good idea to me. He offered before then waiting for her to have a head start before then pulling the door close behind the two of them and jogging in the same direction, it did not take long to reach the door since the path was not too long that led back to the school and he pulled the door open for her before stepping into the warmth of the school, they always seemed to have it the right temperature. At this time in the afternoon the rest of the school seemed to either be still out or they were getting ready to go out and not around the hallways so it was quite peaceful with silence. So what are your plans for summer? He asked casually before then standing at the front of the cafe in order to make his order of hot chocolate and a croissant since they made the best chocolate croissants before waiting off to the side for her and to accept the plate and the cup. They had their choice of the different tables and he made the choice of one that was by the wall and had a view of the window where the snow was still lightly falling to the ground. He could not believe that he was already in the latter part of his third year here since it seemed to be going so quick.
