CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2012 ! On the Eighth of June, on the Year Two-Thousand and Twelve at Twelve O' Clock in the Afternoon in Rexford, Montana
Presented by: Headmistress Noell, Master in Education, Ph.D
It was a beautiful sunny afternoon, right when the large clock on the bell tower chimed twelve, when a tall, intimidating woman with graying hair stepped up to the podium. She wore a doctoral gown of navy blue, matching the colors of the academic regalia the rest of the students and teachers wore. The woman introduced herself as Headmistress Noell, the woman who ran the school, and introduced all of the other administrators present. Then, she continued on with her speech, her piercing eyes traveling over the many security guards that lined the front lawn, keeping both the students and royal families that had arrived, safe. "Parents, Students, Your Highnesses, and Your Majesties," she began, "This day has been looked forward to, I can only assume. Students and Your Highnesses, you have done well; Your Majesties, you should be proud of your children. They have worked hard to achieve their goals, and I have the utmost confidence in them that they will do their duties to their respective countries with honor and grace. Students, Your Highnesses: look forward to the years ahead of you, and know that you have the world in the palm of your hand. And if some day in the future you feel lost or uncertain, look back on these past five years -- the friendships you have made, the dreams you have reached; the laughter and tears you have experienced together." A small smile graced the Headmistress' features as she looked through the small row of students wearing the navy blue caps and gowns. Though many of them had caused her grief, she wouldn't have it any other way. "I will now call each one of you, in order, up to the stage to hand you your diploma." Once the calling of the role was completed, and every student had returned to their seat, the Headmistress smiled broadly. The last thing to do before the ceremony ended was to sing the Academy's song. She pointed to the choir of younger years that stood off to the side, and gestured for all the students and parents to sing along. After the song was complete, the Headmistress knew it was time to send them off. "And, without further ado, I present to you Vineheart Academy's Class of 2012!"Any other sound in the front lawn was overpowered by the sound of cheering and excited laughter as the now graduated students stood up at once, throwing their caps into the air as confetti poured around them. And so the graduation ceremony was complete, and to commence was the feast on the other side of the lawn, already prepared with mountains of food, plentiful tables all draped in white tablecloths, and a large sheer canopy to help cover from the rising sun. There was something akin to excitement and forlornness that had been hanging around Vineheart these last few days. It happened once a year; when the student body wasn’t sure whether to rejoice in the pride of its graduating class, or mourn the departure of yet another group of young people as they set off into the real world. It was a weird sort of dichotomy that the school was never prepared for, the clear division between the students who were excited at the prospect of summer and a new school year looming on the horizon and the ones that just didn’t want this one to end. Ana, personally, held herself with the former crowd, more excited and anxious to graduate than she’d expected to be. Never in her life had she thought she’d be so happy, past elated really, to be done with Vineheart forever. She’d really never been the type to look forward to things with anticipation; she hadn’t been dreaming of graduating from Vineheart since she was a little girl, unlike quite a few members of the graduating class. She knew she’d graduate, with flying colours, but she’d never had the picture of her perfect graduation, ever.
Pinning her hair up to the side of her head, just fixing what the stylist hadn’t managed to pin down herself, Ana let out a long sigh, part wistfulness and part nerves. Unfortunately, she’d be the first one called up to receive her diploma and that meant that she couldn’t screw it up. Oh the joys of having a name that began with the first letter of the alphabet; you were constantly used as an example for everything. But her hair was pinned perfectly, her make-up light and airy as to blend in with her face, not mask it, and once she slipped on her dress and zipped up the back, she was as ready as she’d ever be to join the rest of the students on the lawn. She’d get her cap and gown and settle into the seats, taking up the farthest one in the corner; alphabetical order rocked when you were short and couldn’t see from the back. She’d managed to wave at her brothers, who were surprisingly sitting with her parents, as she passed them and went to sit down. Ana hadn’t expected her parents to attend; they’d been so busy doing other pivotal moments of her life that they’d missed out on those, she suspected this would be the same as all the other times as well.
Even she couldn’t help the smile that tugged on her lips as Headmistress Noell stepped up to the podium, introduced herself and began her speech, which Anastasiya listened only half-heartedly to. She doubted anyone was really paying attention, wanting it to just go faster so they could get their diplomas and sing the academy song, the last time they’d do so as students of Vineheart. One by one their names were called, Anastasiya Svetlana, Crown princess of all the Russias heading the line of excited students making their way up on the stage to receive their little rolls of paper and to shake the hand of the headmistress while smiling for the cameras. Even Ana smiled brightly with something much more akin to a smile or grin compared to her usual smirk stretching across her lips. The quirk of her lips stayed as she made her way back to her seat to wait for the rest of the names to be called, giving them the same courtesy that they’d given her in waiting.
She expected to feel older, more mature and responsible, but really, all that was left after the last name had been called and the class had done their last ‘hoorah,’ was the slight swell of pride she felt for herself and her classmates. Not that it was bad, she’d just expected to feel different, accomplished and ready to take on the world but it was more anxiety and fear than anything. Down in her core she could feel it festering, the quiet insecurity that she knew would grow eventually and take over but for now, she force it back down like bile rising in her throat and discarded her gown and stole with the rest of the class, keeping the cap securely under her arm as she went and greeted her parents, accepting their congratulations cooly with a pinched smile as she led them to join the rest of the students gathering with their families under the large tent.

So the day was finally upon them. After five years of the same hallowed halls they were taking their final moments as students of this renowned school. From this point on they were be graduates of Vineheart. Hiro dressed in his best of course as he sat in his seat and then walked across the stage to receive his diploma. To think he actually did it. It wasn't that he wasn't intelligent or anything but mainly had to do with the fact that his past would have told him otherwise. In reality he had the princess to thank. If it weren't for Soo Ha he wouldn't even have been in Vineheart in the first place. Being her servant meant for him to follow her to the school to attend to her there. Of course along with Soo Ha he also helped care for her little brother but from now that would no longer be the case. From now on his main priority, as it has been will, will only be Soo Ha.
The only difference this time around is that it will be in a different setting. It will the university that Soo Ha has chosen to attend. Hiro wasn't exactly the excited kind. He did his duty and served loyally. If it requires a change of location then so be it. It wasn't like he had any big plans. He simply went where teh wind took him. He didn't completely doubt that this would be the last time they would see Vineheart even so it wouldn't be like he would truly miss it. He's learned over the years to not grow too attached to something for in a flash it could be gone.
when the ceremony came to a close he was more than pleased. He was growing quite bored to be honest. He didn't have any family to run up to like most of the others. His aunt couldn't make it so he had no reason to really stick around. He assumed Soo Ha would be busy with her parents and such so Hiro simply decided to perhaps take a plate of food back to his room. No harm in that.
