Auggie made his way through the Vineheart campus at a leisurely pace. He had just flown in with Xavier to Montana the day earlier. His charge had decided to go and visit his little sister and now that they were chatting it up he was dismissed for the time being. The last time he had been on campus, Auggie recalled spending most of his time at the gym because X was always doing something where there were plenty of guards. At times he felt uncomfortable leaving his charge, but he wasn’t about to miss out on the opportunity to get away and do whatever he felt like. Now was one of those opportunities which was why he was heading to the lake. He had contemplated going for a swim just for the hell of it. It was definitely cold out and there was no doubt that the water would be freezing, but he was a rebel like that and didn’t care much about what the right thing to do was. His way of thinking like that usually tended to get him into plenty of trouble and there had been plenty of times when he managed to drag X along with him on his road of rebellion. Those were great times and even though the king and queen weren’t too happy with their behavior, Auggie and his charge had a blast. As he approached the lake, the bodyguard took in a deep breath and smiled. He loved the smell of nature and particularly enjoyed the crisp sent of autumn in the air. His feet led him a little further towards the opposite end of the lake where he was sure that very few people would be able to see him from the campus and then took a seat on the ground beneath a tree. Auggie leaned against it and closed his eyes. It felt nice for once to have quiet; the chatter at Vineheart was beginning to get annoying especially since he had a headache.
His gaze fell on the water as he contemplated whether he was going to take a swim or not. The water wasn’t too choppy which meant that he wouldn’t have to worry about anything on the bottom stirring up and ramming into him either. A memory of getting an infection while at Vineheart came to mind and he frowned. When he went swimming at that time the water wasn’t the most calm and something sharp on the bottom had cut into his leg. He had been unfortunate enough to get an infection because he hadn’t gone to the nurse right away and the water was of course filthy. Auggie picked up a rock that was at the base of the tree and threw it into the water. There was also the fact that he would have to strip down into only his boxers and he was exactly the most comfortable with leaving his clothes out for some ass to take them away when he wasn’t paying attention. That had happened to him before as well, though he had no problem with walking around campus in his wet underwear at the time. It did give him quite the reputation. With a sigh, Auggie decided to avoid a swim for now and would just hang around in the quiet. His eyes closed of their own accord and he listened to the sound of the leaves blowing in the wind and the gentle splash of the water as it ran up the shore. He began to doze off until he heard the crunch of leaves coming his way. The bodyguard blinked a couple of times and pushed his head back against the trunk of the tree. Who was coming to see him he wondered. It couldn’t have been X, but hey maybe he was sick of his sister’s company already.
