No one ever thought that this day would come for the Albanian prince. The boy who hated school and could barely sit still for longer than an hour was actually about to graduate. The smile on his mother's face as she stood there fussing with his hair that morning before breakfast was priceless and he watched as Heidi just sort of giggled at his situation. It had grown long and despite Heidi's begging he still did not get a hair cut, mostly because he expected that Heidi would take care of the matter while he was asleep or she would just ambush him at some point. But his mother fussed over him as she had when he was a small child and his father yelled at her to stop treating Dritan like a baby. In the moment he agreed with his father but deep down he was enjoying the attention from his parents who were acting as though his little incident over the winter had not happened. They acted as though Dritan had always been the perfect son and prince and his sister seemed to enjoy her fade away from the royal spot light. Breakfast passed quickly and soon Dirtan excused himself to get ready for the ceremony and he left with Heidi. What was his situation with Heidi at this point? He couldn't even answer that question but he so desperately wanted to. She delayed and stalled and avoided the topic, but yet she remained loyal to him and she still allowed his courting attempts.
Even if they were dating he still could not tell his parents since he was still in this silly arranged marriage. Honestly he didn't know how to deal with it but he assumed that a long conversation with his father would follow graduation. Back in his dorm room he slipped into the nice suit that Heidi had picked out for him since picking out his own clothing had always presented a challenge. He just never understood why strips clashed with a patterned shirt. They both required the use of parallel lines so why shouldn't it work? Then when it came to color, Dritan was probably color blind or just too lazy to figure out that red and purple looked silly together. But today required that he look presentable for pictures and stuff since afterall who wouldn't want to see the prince do the impossible and graduate. Heidi grabbed him and dragged him down to the meeting spot for all of the graduating seniors so that they would be on time.
The whole ceremony seemed silly to him and he was bored the moment that the headmistress began to speak. So he looked around, found his parents in the crowd, found his future in laws, and then looked down the row towards Heidi. Only one person separated them so he decided to be annoying and leaned across the girl between them to talk to Hiedi. "Heidi... I'm bored... Do you want to have dinner tonight?" He asked and was quickly pushed away. Her reaction was expected and to be honest he was a bit nervous about showing too much affection towards her in front of his parents. Finally the moment came and he was able to walk across the stage without tripping.
Afterwards was the more interesting part of the entire event. Pictures and more pictures with different people. His parents just had this glow about them since for once they seemed like they were really proud of thier first son. It was a reaction that Dritan never saw in his father since his father had always been so strict with him as he grew up. But quickly he pulled away from his parents and began to look for his precious servant. There was a small surprise that he had for her and he was getting anxious to show her the surprise. "HEIDI!" He yelled out as he wondered through the crowd.
