PersonalityINTROVERT
You would think that, being first in line for the throne of Slovakia, Viktor would be like all the other crown princes: outgoing, funny, a people person. Well, that was - and still is - something king Ceslav keeps hoping for. Viktor could be mistaken, by those who didn’t really know him, for the male version of a wallflower. He doesn’t go out, he doesn’t feel comfortable conversing with new people, people he doesn’t know and at the best of times he’ll stand coolly to the side of a room, looking out a window and ignoring the group with an air of superiority. At the worst, he’ll tell you directly to take a hike. He hasn’t got the sweetest disposition ever, you know. Once you get to know him, things become better and he speaks to you normally enough, but that’s only after you get pass the initial level of just how closed-off he is. This all might lead you astray into thinking he’s a weak character - which is definitely not true.
INTELLIGENT
Being introvert doesn’t mean that he’s stupid. From an early age on, Viktor has been known to do mathematical, chemical and physical equations alike with an astonishing speed. He showed ample aptitude for languages, though he prefers numerical relations. His mind seems to be able to soak up information on numbers and percentage and possibilities, like a huge sponge. It helps that he has a photographic memory which enables him to basically look at a page for ten minutes and close the book knowing exactly what was written where. He would probably be good at a various assortment of things if he put his mind to it, but unless he sees an appeal, he won’t do it. He might be persuaded it someone tells him it’s for the good of Slovakia, but that’s about as far as it’ll go. He does hold interest for various caligraphies of different nations, though, and he has been known to study Ancient Egyptian and Slavic languages every once in a while, when he feels up for it. He has a razor-sharp mind equally used in class as out of it - unfortunately it could classify him as sort of a bully, given that he’ll always tell you exactly what he means definitely when he means it. If you get on his bad side, you had best beware.
ALOOF
Viktor’s name could probably appear next to this word in a dictionnary. If you’re extremely lucky he’ll just ignore you and not say a thing, but the unfortunate have to deal with his malcontent and scorn. He sees himself as better than most of the students at Vineheart, which, in his mind, gives him all the right to treat them like specks of dust on precious coat. He doesn’t like presumptuous people and he definitely doesn’t like either of the cliché groups, given that he thinks they’re utterly stupid. He rarely does things without benefit for himself, though he has been known to change now and then, when it comes to his brother, but that’s about it. Otherwise, you’ll probably have better luck conversing with a Greek marble statue than him.

HistoryThe old year was saying farewell when Queen Nadia went into labour. Her baby was due to be delivered on December 30th, or at the latest in the morning hours on December 31st, but because of one incompetent nurse or another, when shifts turned the next day, she was still toiling. The doctor who came in was horrified: the Queen should have given birth by now! Nothing much could be done except hurry as much as possible. The firstborn child of the Slovakian power couple was born a couple of minutes before midnight, blue from almost choking himself on the umbilical cord, which had gone round his neck twice. It would seem that he had begun turning back from the position of birth. There were no consequences, luckily, and the boy was healthy enough to be taken to the palace. Slovakia had it’s heir to the throne and a happy couple.
Viktor, named after an old Slovakian war hero, was the apple of his father’s eye, but even as a young boy of one, he seemed to want to know where his baby brother came from. And, after the secondborn was brought home from the hospital, and a week passed, he looked up at Ceslav and declared, in the best, choppy words he could manage and they could understand, that he was done playing with the new toy and could his father possibly take it back from where it came? Of course his brother wasn’t taken anywhere, and Viktor grew to love him as years passed. Actually, the more aloof he became to the world, the more open he was towards him and whatever he was up to. He supported the younger boy in anything he did, even the craziest things, and they became inseparable after they were both old and able enough to not be under constant threat of toppling over each other. To this day, his brother is his best friend and confidant.
He was homeschooled until the age of thirteen/fourteen, when he was sent to Vineheart to complete his education. Ceslav had gone to the same school before him, and had high hopes that his son would open up more among children his own age, and accept them. Error. Big time. Viktor just closed off more and kept to himself, steering clear of any Kings and Queens, though that didn’t mean he became the total recluse. There was a subtle difference. His brother could see it once he got to Vineheart himself. Viktor had become the unattainable, the one who looked down on everyone else and hurt them just for the pure fun of it. He was still the same with his brother, but conforming to Vineheart’s social circles had transformed him into a person who could be ashamed of himself, if he tried.
Just before leaving for his last year of Vineheart, Viktor got into some trouble, the result of which can still be seen and will probably forever remind him of his own folly. Being the arrogant fool that he is, and an avid swimmer, he jumped head-first into one of the ponds that appeared and disappeared on his father’s estate during the summer. This particular one hadn’t been cleaned at that point, and the prince caught himself on wire, tearing through the left side of his torso. Now, he has a scar to remind him of his own stupidity and a slightly mellower attitude. Only slightly.
