I Look A Lot Like

Play By David Tennant
Hair dark brown, messy. He doesn’t usually wear it neatly cut because it would bother him to be that uptight. He does, however, take the time to do his hair every day.
Eyes sad, brown eyes.
Height 5 feet 9 inches tall
Features Nathan’s teeth are crooked and he talks out of the right side of his mouth more than the left side. These aren’t things that people notice unless they are really paying attention. He had no tattoos and he has nothing pierced, as he is frightened of needles. He paints his toenails black whenever he gets the chance. Nathan also has a gold wedding band that never leaves his finger.

Strengths
- Nathan is an amazing writer when it comes to writing novellas or short stories. He plans on being published someday. He doesn’t share his work, however, unless he really trusts a person to not make fun of what he writes.
- He has a huge capacity to love. His love for Traci, Luke and Liam has never died.
- His ability to ignore what annoys him. His mother, a total nutjob, has bothered him for the last time. She was so insane that he had to kick her out onto the street. She was threatening him and anyone that entered the house, so it was what he had to do. It was tough, but now he just ignores that she ever existed.
Weaknesses
- Infants. If he sees one, he has to smile and wave. They are so cute, in his opinion.
- Physical strength (lack thereof). He couldn’t hurt a fly. Hell, he’s afraid of flies.
- Peanuts. He’s allergic to them – and it’s bad news.
Fears
- Heights.
- Falling in love again. He feels like he’s cursed. The only person he’s ever loved is Traci, and, somehow in his mind, that killed her.
Personality
Artsy* Be forewarned if Nathan has a pen and paper and you’re on the phone with him: he’s not really paying attention. Even if the phone call is important, he’s doodling and just giving the minimum back to you. He tries, yes. But being the creative time always puts one’s mind elsewhere.
Quick to Judge* Nathan doesn’t mean to do it, but he judges quickly if he sees someone struggling at something that he just doesn’t understand. However, if he thinks about it later, and he usually does, he’ll get a different viewpoint – and a story.
Devoted* Nathan doesn’t let people in, but once he does, they are in forever. A strong example of this is Traci and his boys. He hasn’t dated anyone since he was seventeen, and while his boys were only alive for the months they were in Traci’s womb, he still loves them. Fifteen years makes no matter. In his mind, he still has two sons and a wife. And he refuses to budge from that.
Who I Once Was

Parents He has been told that his father is a noble of England (Nathan could never be king, though), but since the relationship between his mother and father was a scandal, he has never found out who his real father was. That being said, he doesn’t believe his mother, as she isn’t 100% there. Her name is Regina, and she currently lives somewhere in the United States – but has no address. She believes that American quarters are tickets to the apocalypse; she throws a fit any time one is handed to her.
Siblings none
Spouse Traci Renee Michaels (deceased). He met her when he was seventeen, and they fell in love. She was the girl that he met at a rock show. They found out that they were pregnant when they were 19, much to Traci’s surprise, as she was told that conceiving was a near impossibility for her. The pregnancy was difficult, so, to take her mind off of it, Nathan planned their wedding, surprising her with it one day, when she was about seven months pregnant with their twins. She died only days after giving birth to the twins. Since they never got to sign their marriage liscense, their marriage was never legal, but Nathan still refuses to take off the wedding ring that she had put on his finger.
Children Luke Ryan and Liam Neil (both deceased at birth). They day of Nathan’s surprise wedding to Traci, just after they said their vows, Traci felt strange. At first she thought it was just going to be another sickness fit, but it was labor. Nathan hurried her to the hospital, and she was most upset that she was going to ruin the beautiful sundress he had bought her for the day of their wedding. Things didn’t go as planned, and the twins were actually stillborn.
History
Nathan’s history is a big fairy tale (horror story?!) in and of itself. And it was told to him by one person and one person alone – his mother, Regina Ruth Winthrop. Her version of the story is quick and simple. She met the love of her life when she was a servant for one of the dukes in the United Kingdom. They had a brief, hot affair that ended up with Regina as pregnant. Their affair was found out, and she was sent to the United States to get her out of the royal family’s hair and to lessen any dangerous or scandalous news pieces. That being said, Regina insists that Nathan is royalty, but, as things would go in the precession of the royal crown, Nathan could never wear the crown (his parents were not married at the time of his birth).
He had a pretty normal childhood, from what he could recollect, but normal is also a bit subjective. They moved almost every year, and sometimes, they didn’t have food. Nathan never really made many friends because he didn’t get to take the time to get to know them. Besides, as he got into his teen years, he didn’t even bother trying because he was used to making friends and then moving.
When he was sixteen, they moved to Michigan, near the Detroit area, and that’s the final place that he lived while in high school. He worked his butt off to get good grades throughout his childhood, and that actually earned him a scholarship to college. He took it and ran with it, but not before going to a couple rock shows the summer before his senior year. It was at one of those rock shows that he met Traci. They fell in love instantly, and not long after that, they found themselves pregnant – with twins! Being the creative, yet sneaky, type, Nathan found out what Traci’s big dream wedding was, and he did his best to emulate that on a budget. Doing what he could, he gave that to her, only to have her go into labor that day. Nathan was excited to have so many joyous occassions in one day, but things went sour very quickly. The wedding was plagued with the death of the twins and, to top things off, Traci’s death followed soon after.
For a while, Nathan was devistated. But he did what he always ended up doing when he felt alone – studying. And he ended up with a 4.0 in college, a 4.0 in his master’s program, and he got his phD in record time. Then he was off to search for jobs. He worked at the university level for a while, but, eventually, he got this offer at Vineheart and he had to take it. It paid well, yes. But he also saw it as a clue to finding out more about his past. His mother, before he kicked her butt to the curb, had shown him some proof that he may possibly be this royal bastard son. She had some clothing, jewelry, and a couple other things that pointed to what she said as being true. It wouldn’t be like Nathan would want anything monetary if things were found out to be true. It would just be that he would want to know his past, and if the rejection of true love is what sent his mother into the downward spiral of being a total nutter.
