I don’t need to try to control you, I swear I’ll behave; Look into my eyes and I’ll own you, With them moves like J A G G E R.
Summer for him had proved to be very uneventful he spent the majority of it travelling around and even made a stop in Bulgaria for a week where he did not stay anywhere near to the palace since that would be a death wish for him but strangely enough he had ‘needed’ to see Mira and she had met him so that justified the trip enough. The hotel that he had stayed in proved to be boring so he would not remain there for any longer than a week plus he knew that within time the King and Queen of Switzerland would start questioning whether or not he was actually in Spain like he had told them and they had ways of getting in contact with Dante so he might have been his own demise. So therefore the fact that he had not been caught was a complete thrill and even though he knew that her brother tended to be a very sneaky type of person he did not appear to have a clue that Fred and his sister were meeting secretly this was the way that it needed to be kept because it would be the downfall of them if someone were to find out that he was sleeping with the enemy in his spare time and that the two of them were not clawing out one another’s eyes as carrying out the deeds. He did not know what to think of this all as of yet but he knew that he was treading very deep into dangerous and swift waters and it would only be a matter of time before he would be carried away with the current and he would have to try to pick up the pieces of his life where it all shattered. He needed a way to get her completely off his mind and sadly enough she seemed to have ruined him sleeping around since there was no one that would quite compare to what seemed to happen between the two of them. It was just too irresistible and this caused anger to boil up in the back of his throat, whether or not she knew it or not she had managed a very sneaky attack that took him out at the knees.
Speaking of knees, today he was barely able to hide the limp in his step and this was yet another thing that seemed to grate on his nerves. He had done everything right, after the accident and collision with the opposing player he had given himself the time off that he needed and done all the rehab and yet even though he knew that he was not supposed to be playing ever again what his parents did not know was not going to hurt them and he loved the game, after all how long was this really going to be able to continue? With the injury there was no way he was going to make it onto a college team when he graduated, he knew that he would have if this had not happened and really was he going to have time considering he was in line for the throne after all and knew that when he graduated that things were going to turn a lot more serious. Rolling his eyes he knew that he needed to stop thinking about this all but there was only one thing that was going to put a stop to it all. He did not even get a response when he contacted the girl so he did not even know if she was going to be coming as he sat on one of the benches off to the side of the lake, this was a different place to meet but so far there had been no one that passed by him and plus there was plenty of bush around if the two were seen doing anything but yelling at one another, after all did they not need their first traditional screaming match of the year?
They needed to talk about what was to happen now that they were back at school and starting a new year and how this was all going to be kept private and whether or not it was going to continue. His place in the Kings of Vineheart this year was very important to him as he had worked hard as a protégé and therefore earned his place as well as the captain of the football team meaning that she was not going to be able to get in the way of all this so if it ever came down to it he was not too sure what was going to happen. After the rest of the summer apart though he had told himself that he was immune to the cruel charm of the girl and he was going to give her the cold-shoulder.

you don't know trouble, i'm hell of a scandal me, i'm a scene, i'm a drama queen i'm the best damn thing that your eyes have ever seen[/blockquote]
All summer Mira had been forced to attend garden parties and meetings with other countries and by the time August had rolled around, she’d been dead tired. What with her family officially releasing the story of the Nada situation to the press in late June, the paparazzi had been following her all summer and it took all of her power not to smack the next person she saw with a camera. It wasn’t that she didn’t love the attention – because she did – but all they wanted to know was about Nada; Nada this and Nada that. Well goddammit she’d near had enough of hearing about Nada by the time Nada’s goddamn wedding day happened, and though she was happy for her sister (it was still weird saying that) marrying her one true love, she had been more than ready to book it out of Serbia the following day and go back to Bulgaria. Her brothers had unfortunately been off doing who the hell knew what so Mira was forced to lounge around tanning all summer in her free time. So it came to her great surprise and pleasure when who else, but Fred, texted her when she’d returned from Serbia to tell her that he was staying the week in Bulgaria in a hotel a few miles away. As sexually driven as she was, Mira was more than happy to meet him at the hotel and spend the next seven days having mind-blowing sex at night like a scandalous high class whore, because it was far more interesting than anything she’d done all summer. She’d found that during that week they’d spent hours together, that Fred wasn’t so unbearable after all; he could be quite witty and even made her genuinely laugh a few times. They’d barely squabbled, mostly because they’d been so busy doing things other than talking, but it was definitely something unusual.
However, summer had come to an end and it was now time to return to Vineheart for her final year. This was a bittersweet moment – while she enjoyed the freedoms she’d been able to have in Bulgaria, Vineheart had a certain appeal, mostly that she was away from her mother, despite the fact the two had grown closer since the accident. She’d arrived at Vineheart a few days ago and had been busy decorating her dorm, so today she had taken it upon herself to go shopping. Being in Montana meant cooler weather and having spent hot summer days in Bulgaria the past two months, Mira definitely needed some new fall and winter clothing to prepare for the coming months. She’d just finishing grabbing a cab outside of the mall in Rexford when she’d received the text from Fred asking her to meet him by the Lake. Were it not for the fact that she was already in the city, she wasn’t sure she would have met him; she was far too lazy to potentially be seen in public with the boy. She was curious as to what he wanted to talk about – she couldn’t imagine he had any complaints about the sex, that she was sure of – but she would meet him all the same.
Mira stepped out of the cab and onto the long sidewalk that followed along the lake, her dark brown Louboutins clacking against the concrete as she walked steadily along. It was a fairly cool day, as far as temperatures went – about low seventies, high sixties in degrees, but judging from the dark clouds it would probably rain later that day and Mira was not planning on sticking around outside for that. Just in case, however, she’d donned a pale green rain long rain jacket over her flowy top and white velvet skirt, and she was rather warm and snug as she neared the bench, where she recognized the head of dark, tousled brown hair she’d spent all summer running her fingers through. She plopped down next to him, knowing he probably didn’t expect her to arrive considering she hadn’t replied to his text, and gave him a questioning look, the sides of her full lips curving upwards just barely. “What is it that’s so important you’re risking exposure for?” She asked, quirking an eyebrow up, her dark eyes running over his facial features.

I don’t need to try to control you, I swear I’ll behave; Look into my eyes and I’ll own you, With them moves like J A G G E R.
He knew that eh was pushing his luck and within the next little while he was going to be in a lot of trouble. Lately his knee had been swelling to a point that he was not going to be able to hide it and soon the pain would get to be too much where he would not be able to walk normally on it and while he might not limp there would be a hitch and there were tons of people that hated him and would do anything to get to him and they would be the first ones to notice that something was not one hundred percent with the prince so this was why he had been excused from the first week of football practice after he had come up with a bogus excuse, a week was all it needed to return back to normal so that way he was not going to be out for the season when it became more important though there was nothing that was going to stop him from playing this year since it was going to be his last year. He did not care if he ended up crippled because of it. How was it fair that he was not supposed to be doing the one thing that he really enjoyed? Perhaps this was all to do with the karma of being an asshole? He could not deny that he deserved it since he knew that it was true. He could not help but reel back to the day that it had all happened, there had been a lot on the line that day since it was one of the days that the scouts were out looking for people to recruit and he knew that they had their eye on him, everyone was feeling the pressure and working harder, the hits were harder, they were running faster, the grass was slippery and this did not seem to matter because they were all fighting tooth and nail for the top spot and who knew who really wanted it more. Just as they had practiced almost every day and in warmup he had caught the ball though what he had noticed was that an opposing member escaped his check and barreled towards him, while Fred was not short and not gangly he was not match for this person that could have sat on him and suffocated him and the pressure was like a freight train hitting him and knocking him flat to the ground with a sickening pop of the cartilage in his knee. After he had been rushed to surgery something that a football player never wanted to happen. Things that required surgery usually meant the end of a career.
Perhaps that was when he turned from just being a sarcastic and annoying guy to a completely cruel and ruthless jerk? The stages of teasing that went on between him and Mira jumped to a complete new level in the year after the surgery and surely other people would have noticed the change in him and not had a clue of what had sparked it and there were never going to know and he was going to see to that. His brothers had sworn that they were not going to say anything to their parents and this was a secret that he knew that they would keep after all if anything they were the closest that he had to allies. While he tended to spend a lot of time with Nico and Dante he did not trust either of the boys knowing that they were just like him and if they saw that revealing something about Fred was going to benefit them he knew that it was likely they would throw him under the bus without too much of a hesitation.
He noticed the girl approaching and he could not help but be surprised and slightly amused. Eyes travel along her body though with her wearing the rain gear it was not like there was much to look at and this caused him to sigh slightly. I have to say I preferred your attire in Bulgaria, if left less to my imagination. He uttered with a smirk before even started to reply. Where’s your sense of adventure? Nothing important actually, I wanted to see if you would actually come, I guess testing the waters would be what its called. He asked plainly with a raised brow. He knew that it was very likely that he was going to pay for that remark and possibly be hit since it was true that he did not have a reason for calling her out here. I suppose everything will remain the same in this coming year? Or is it too much of a risk for you. He played on the end of that exaggerating the use of the word risk seeing as she had told him calling her here was a risk. He waited there patiently with a small smirk playing on his lips to see what she was going to do to respond.

you don't know trouble, i'm hell of a scandal me, i'm a scene, i'm a drama queen i'm the best damn thing that your eyes have ever seen[/blockquote]
For as long as she could remember, she and Fred had never had a very pleasant relationship. She vividly recalled the first time she met him first year – she had rolled in late to class the very first day (due to the fact that she didn’t know where her class was), and at the back of the room he’d laughed when she was given a stern talking to and a prompt detention by the horrible hag of a teacher for not having the uniform on. At thirteen years old, Mira was a force to be reckoned with, and so as she passed him to get to her seat, she’d smacked his textbook onto the floor. After that, they didn’t converse much – not until he’d got it into his head that in order to annoy the living hell out of her, he had to constantly ask her out every chance he could get. It was smooth sailing from then on, and now, they’d progressed to this point: secret rendezvous full of wild hate sex. To anyone else, it seemed barmy; but to the two of them, it made perfect sense. So you can imagine her surprise when he sent her the text asking to talk; they rarely had chats, at least not about anything serious, and for a moment she thought maybe he wanted to discontinue their whole shebang. The possibility didn’t scare her, but she knew that she’d probably miss the sex – not that she couldn’t find it anywhere else. It was just fun, and a great substitute for the major lack of pranking she’d done the past few months. She definitely needed to step it up again; as this was her final year, it was expected of her to do something crazy.
A small smile curved upon her lips when she saw his eyes roam over her clothed figure, and she rolled her eyes at his comment. “Well maybe I’m not wearing anything under this coat,” she noted with a salacious wink, though it was a blatant lie. But because the coat stretched longer than her skirt, and covered the neck of her shirt, she was sure that he could believe that she was telling the truth. She knew he wouldn’t, however, because he was smarter than that. Mira snorted at his next comment, pushing her dark curls out of her face as she sat back against the bench and crossed one leg over another. “You’re lucky I was in the city, otherwise I wouldn’t have come. I simply don’t have the time to be meeting irritating boys in public. Nighttime is more of my thing,” she replied with a grin, knowing he’d appreciate the joke. That was what made sleeping with him easiest – he at least understood her humor, and could dish it right back in her face. It kept things interesting, especially since Mira was easily bored. At his proposal, her mind rested upon the fact that he was challenging, and her signature smirk played on her features, her glittering eyes imploring upon him for a few minutes as she acted as if she was debating it all. Which, in reality, she wasn’t – her answer was already a yes. She wanted the sex, he wanted the sex, so why not? She especially liked the challenge. One thing everyone knew about Mira was that she never backed down from a challenge.
“I hardly call that a risk,” she stated, knowing he would take that as a yes. “A risk,” she began, leaning into him in closely, in a manner that one would not expect if she was trying to not risk publicity, “would be doing unholy things to you in a public place.” Her voice was low, seductive, and one finger reached out to trail down his leg. But barely a few seconds passed in their close proximity before she pulled away from him, her expression acting as if nothing scandalous had just happened at all. She knew that no one was around, at least not anyone who knew who they were; she applauded his chosen spot, as it was hidden behind a bush, and it made secrecy a lot easier. Her eyes were still glittering madly as she adjusted her position, making sure she was a bit away from him on the bench, and she stole a sneaky glance at him, her smirk growing. “I know the perfect place to stay secret. You know the old unused classroom on the second floor, near the Ballroom?” She asked, her eyes meeting his. “On Tuesdays the custodian staff leaves the room locked after cleaning, and because I’m such a brilliant, amazing young woman,” Mira quickly added with a grin, “I have a master key to the school.”

I don’t need to try to control you, I swear I’ll behave; Look into my eyes and I’ll own you, With them moves like J A G G E R.
He remembered the first day that he had met Mira very well as the girl walked into the room late and not wearing her uniform it was obvious to him that they were not going to get along they were far too much alike even though he was never going to admit that, they would always be fighting for the ultimate control and the ability to manipulate on another and that was something that was not healthy for either of them so from that first day that they had met when he had laughed at her and she had knocked his textbook off his desk it had done nothing but escalate until it bordered on getting out of control, though to get control that was meaning that one of the parties was not able to handle it and he was sure that there was nothing that Mira was not able to handle the girl was unbreakable, trust him to know this and this he was almost positive was the same for him. No matter how mad she was able to get him he was able to allow it to roll of his shoulders and in some cases where he was not able to he was able to take a deep breath and invite either Nico or Dante out to the Ice Box and drink the night and the worries away. There were only a few times where she did manage to get that far under his skin though and he was sure that he did not even show it. Over the years everything between them had only gotten more and more cruel until in the last year, their fourth year they seemed to hit a plateau, she was downright turning into a basket case. First hitting him over the head with his text book and then spilling her drink all over him at the party and various other times where he was smacked or prodded, personally he found it flattering that she did not seem to be able to keep her hands off him, this was something that he knew he could always bring up but he also knew that if he did then it would not happen anymore and he was starting to like the physical contact between them. Hold up wait a minute, he was beginning to LIKE the contact between them? Since when had that changed, at first he had tolerated it and sure they were consumed by a passion that was only described best as hatred and now he was talking about LIKING it?! What the hell was going through his mind? Maybe he should go get it checked out, he did not take his ‘grumpy pills’ this morning.
Little did she know but she had gotten to him in a way that he had never expected caught him off guard and ruined his womanizer life that he and Dante and Nico were known so much for. That had been one of the reasons he had come to Bulgaria because the girl had been on his mind and strangely enough even TRYING to sleep with other people did not seem to ease this. This was supposed to be easy and effortless and nothing but sex and now he was starting to complicate it in his own mind. Even though he was starting to drive himself to the edge of insanity and beyond he knew that he was not going to do anything that was going to compromise this little agreement that the two of them had going. He was simply going to have to just distract himself even more this year with football given that it was his last year and he was not going to be able to play once he graduated. She rolled her eyes at his comment about liking it better when she was not wearing so many clothes but there was not the nasty nature that usually accompanied as she stated that she could be wearing nothing underneath and he thought for a moment then shook his head. The two of us might be sworn enemies but I have known you for four years and therefore know you are bluffing. He uttered confidently. He watched as she took a seat on the bench and crossed legs over one another, he did not even work at hiding the fact that his eyes roamed the bare skin there. He was by no means anything close to subtle. She should be flattered that he was making no attempt in hiding this.
Only irritating? I seemed to have moved up in the ranks.. last time I was known as repulsive. I do have to agree that nighttime is more your thing. He was completely shocked though, he slipped up! Had he just agreed with her? He swallowed a lump of terror at his recent action that had formed in his throat. This went a little forgotten as he then uttered the next statement and could not hide the amused smirk that tugged at his lips when she seemed to be debating his question. He knew in the back of his mind that the two of them were thinking the same thing, after all everything was working out so why bother to screw something up that they were both enjoying. Brow rose slightly when she stated that it was not a risk and then continued on taking a new seductive tone that caused chills to run along his spine in anticipation. He did not know what part was driving him more insane, the touch that trailed down his leg or the fact that he was watching it happen. Fighting with the intense feelings he turned his eyes back to her when she shifted away on the bench and pretended like nothing had happened before stating that she had the perfect place, an old unused classroom by the ballroom. Sometimes you amaze me, it is very rare though I assure you. He uttered with a small recognition of the feat.

you don't know trouble, i'm hell of a scandal me, i'm a scene, i'm a drama queen i'm the best damn thing that your eyes have ever seen[/blockquote]
She didn’t know why – or how – they were getting along, but when she really thought about it, they hadn’t fought since the Kings and Queens’s party in June. It wasn’t that they had suddenly patched things up; Mira still despised him and thought him an annoying twit, but at least the sex was good. And that was all that truly mattered, really. She knew he’d probably do something to piss her off in the next couple of days, because that’s just what they did. Everyone expected their beginning of year argument – screaming, more often than not Mira throwing something, and both stalking off furiously. It was just normal, and if they didn’t, everyone was going to know something was up. And there was no way in hell she was going to let anyone find out about what they were doing. She’d never be able to live it down, and she’d be mortified because all of the students would just think she was – what did the Americans call it? Oh, yes, a bottom bitch. That she was just Fred’s whore for the taking, someone he could turn to if he needed some release. Yeah right. Didn’t everyone know they were using each other? It wasn’t just a one-sided deal. But, for now, she was okay with not arguing with him, at least not at this very second. Most of the time Mira was all about arguing and winning and getting her way, but she really just didn’t feel like it today.
Her eyebrows rose as he confidently stated she was bluffing. She would never admit it, but she was slightly pleased and flattered that he knew her well enough, because it meant he’d paid a lot of attention to her for the past four years. Even if he was studying her for the all the wrong reasons, he was still doing so, and Mira liked to have that wanted feeling. Truthfully, she knew him just as well, only because she’d been forced to pay attention to him so as to know when he was about to screw with her; as a defensive tactic, she’d learned his every move, what his body language meant, his tones of voices. It wasn’t that she was doing it as apart of her leisure time; she did it so she could get back at him when he did something to piss her off. And now, she knew him on a completely different level – knew what made him tick, what made him squirm, what completely turned him on. After just a week of spending each day and night with him – albeit a particularly long week, it felt like – she knew him better than she knew herself. It was a frightening concept, but Mira tried not to think about that aspect; she liked to think it could come in handy in the future when he thought he could blackmail her. But he was a still boy, and a boy with urges who she knew had to find her attractive in order to sleep with her – therefore she had some upper hand there, right? However, as much as she wouldn’t dare say it, he had a certain hold over her as well: he knew making her angry now turned her on in a way, because she did find him attractive, mostly when he was furious. It was just one big tangled web of shit, honestly, but Mira didn’t feel like sifting through each and every feeling. She preferred to just go with what her body was telling her, not her mind.
“Believe me; you were in a better boat when you were repulsive. At least when you were repulsive I did my best to ignore you; now, since you’re irritating, I feel obligated to purposely irritate you right back,” she noted in a matter-of-fact tone, making sure he understood that he was not any better off than he was three months ago. Sex was sex – it didn’t mean she still didn’t hate his guts. She just hated him less when there wasn’t much to say. And yet, a part of her cringed at the word hate when it applied to Fred, almost like she knew it wasn’t the truth. Did she really hate anyone at all? Or did she just say so as a defensive reflex? Mira tried to forget about this as she teased him, gauging his reaction with a satisfied smirk. He was fighting the lust, she could tell, and this pleased her – perhaps she had more power over him than she thought? And power was quite seductive, in a way. Mira snorted derisively at his statement, her lips pursed. “Hmph – not too rare,” she insinuated, one side of her lip curving upwards, knowing he’d understand the dirty joke. She said a lot of those lately – but that was just Mira’s nature. She reached up to brush a few strands of hair out of her eyes, a soft sigh escaping her lips. “So,” she began, letting her gaze drift off across the lake and over the dark clouds reflecting in the water. “Did Dante ever figure anything out?” She asked, her tone now cautious, treading carefully.

I don’t need to try to control you, I swear I’ll behave; Look into my eyes and I’ll own you, With them moves like J A G G E R.
He would always remember the summer that his parents had caught him drinking out at one of the functions and while he tended to be able to hold his alcohol well that night it had not been one of shining moments and after that they seemed to be keeping him under a much closer watch and locking him away in the palace. He was also visited by a therapist. If there was anything that was going to drive him to drink more it would be what the person had told him. The middle aged woman had uttered that his need for sleeping around and drinking was to escape the reality that he set out for himself and the insecurities that he harbored deep down and tried to tell him that the real reason for all of his rebellious behavior was because he was not only scared of becoming King but also because he did not feel worthy of the title. It took all his power to not push this woman out the window of the second story study, needless to say she was escorted out the door by the fuming boy and luckily his parents had seen what this seemed to provoke and knew that it was not going to do him any good making him even more mad considering the temper of the Swiss prince tended to be what got him in all the trouble. From then on he had constantly wondered in time of weakness if all that the therapist had told him had any truth to it. After that it did make him realize that he needed to be a lot more careful to behave himself around his parents at least since he did not want the privileges and freedom they gave their eldest son to disappear. Right now he seemed to have entered the trusting inner circle between the King and Queen and they thought that he was the perfect heir to the throne, he played this part in the whole charade fabulously and he and his brothers tended to keep it all under wraps, they had an agreement to look out for each other and never speak of the things that went on at school and he would tend to turn a blind eye on the things that he was involved in. If his little brother expected to be a part of the protégés then this was something that was essential.
He was the type to always think things through to make sure that they were something that was going to benefit him in the long run so the fact that he had not given much thought to what was going on between him and Mira was something that was almost appalling from the time of the Kings and Queens party while he had been appalled at the fact that anything had happened to begin with he did not tend to overanalyze it, in fact allowing it to just play out whatever way in which it tended to. It was true that the two of them were a lot less vulgar towards one another now. Lately with the time that they had spent together he felt like he knew her a lot better than even from the years that he had spent a lot of time harassing her. When she looked at him with brows raised he was able to tell that she found it impressive that he had been able to call out her bluff so accurately and he knew that he was right. The thought of blackmailing her did not even cross his mind, when would that work his advantage it would just piss her off and they would be back to square one. Was it strange that he was not even looking forward to their school year opening fight? This was usually something that he was waiting on the edge of his seat for. Somehow this year when it was supposed to be the most important given that they were in their last year he did not feel the same excitement and anticipation he felt like he was being cheated out of it.
Feelings were dangerous so that was why they were pressed out his mind, flings were something that were so easy for him and he did not feel obliged to figure things out so therefore this was something that was ideal for him. Well you are going to have to try harder if you are intending on irritating me. He uttered gently with a smirk plastered on face. She was able to tell that he was staring at her when she crossed her legs and he was alright with seeing this seeing as she did not seem like she was going to make an uncalled for comment about it. After all she did enjoy being appreciated, and while he was not too fond of her or her personality and the hatred between them he did appreciate the girl’s looks. He did tend to draw a line with sleeping with people that he found attractive. Eyes were rolled but not in the usual sinister manner in more of a playful one as she spoke the comment that of course was dirty to his ears. He was a boy after all and everything was switched around in his mind until it tended to be dirty. It looked as though the weather was going to be changing in a hurry and yet he did not find himself moving, just watching the clouds that were reflected into the water in front of them. She asked if Dante had figured anything out and he shook his head. Of course not, I think Dante has bigger things to work out lately, though I am not too sure what seeing as he has been very tame for the beginning of the year. He uttered with a thoughtful glance returning to the ripples in the lake. He was very surprised at just how calm he was sitting there with her.

you don't know trouble, i'm hell of a scandal me, i'm a scene, i'm a drama queen i'm the best damn thing that your eyes have ever seen[/blockquote]
Mira shook her head, a bemused smile threatening her lips. Try harder to irritate him? “That sounds like a challenge,” she mused in a low voice, her eyes locked with his. It had always been a challenge irritating Fred, however. He’d always had a knack for pissing Mira off, and yet, she’d never been able to return the favor, at least not until they’d been screaming at each other for a good ten minutes. Only recently had she figured out one tactic that had made him angry, and that was giving him a good smack and although she was a feisty girl Mira didn’t always like the impression that she was a violent person. She wasn’t – she was just fierce. Perhaps it was just fourth year that had caused her to spiral out of control, with everything involving Nada and her family and her growing annoyance with Fred. Over the summer, however, she’d been more relaxed, now that everything with Nada was sorted out and she’d found a different way to release her anger towards Fred. She knew that when they would argue soon enough in the coming days, it would probably not reach the same heights it had that fateful day in May when she’d smacked him with the book. Sure, she was always throwing anything she could find at him, but with his football skills he either caught it or dodged it, so neither had ever truly minded her knack for aiming things in his direction. Things had changed now, however; it was not that Mira was docile, she was merely comfortable. Less tense, troubled, the like.
She kept telling herself it had nothing to do with Fred. Maybe it did, maybe it didn’t. Maybe it was just the fact that she really didn’t have anything to worry about anymore. Things were patching up with her mother, she and Nada were friends, and she was in her final year at Vineheart. Everything was good right now. And it had absolutely nothing to do with Fred. Fred was just part of the deal, not the reason for it. But if she was being honest, he really wasn’t all that bad. She’d caught herself laughing in his presence, and one night during his stay in Bulgaria, she’d accidentally fallen asleep after sex, and had awoken in his arms completely at ease. It had shaken her to the core, but she’d chosen to forget about it, as he had still been asleep and had woken up by the time she was already dressed and ready to leave the hotel. He just had serious issues with being normal, or at least not being a jerk. She could be a bitch, she’d be the first to admit it, but she was not a bitch unintentionally; he’d been a jerk to her from day one. His horrible attitude had only worsened this past year, and she had no earthly idea why. Most of their interactions had consisted of calling each other derogatory names and leaving it at that, but fourth year it had come to a great, terrible height. She was curious as to what had caused such a dark change in him, but she’d never asked.
She listened to him talk about Dante, all the while her mind reeling. “Dante, tame?” Mira said in surprise, her dark brown eyes wide. She blinked slowly, thinking of the last time she’d ever seen the Spanish heir tame. Back in third year, she’d fancied him quite a bit, mostly because he’d seemed like some wild animal, someone she could really have fun with. After a particularly nasty fight with Fred one night, she’d gone off to the Ice Box, only to find Dante there. They’d flirted before – who had Dante not flirted with? – but this was something new, especially since there was alcohol involved. They’d ended up sleeping together, Mira’s first time, and after that she’d done positively everything to sleep with him again. She wouldn’t have it, though, and so that ship had sailed. And now, hearing Fred say in a completely somber voice that the boy was different made her curious. “He’s got to be up to something. Then again, didn’t he announce that he’s taking over the throne in December? Maybe he’s just trying to grow up,” she pointed out, only then to snort into laughter. Donato may have been a devious person and could talk his way out and into anything, but he was still seventeen. No one at that age was going to grow up anytime soon. “Maybe Gabriella has finally made him want to settle down. Maybe he’s in love,” she teased in a voice laced with laughter, her eyes glittering madly. “At any rate, it’s good he’s distracted. Can’t have him up our asses about all of this.” The last thing she needed was the Head King of Vineheart on her tail, and if it involved Fred, she knew Dante would definitely be curious.

I don’t need to try to control you, I swear I’ll behave; Look into my eyes and I’ll own you, With them moves like J A G G E R.
While he knew that it would have sounded a lot like a challenge to her he was not too sure if he really wanted that, now that the two of them seemed to have hit their little plateau he was not too sure that he even wanted it to go back to the raging fights where the two of them would reinforce just how much they hated one another before then being compelled by the passion to kiss and allow things to be taken to the next level, that was simply the way that they were but over the summer she had been almost bearable and therefore he had started to get used to the girl and not fighting in the way that they used to. The two were able to get along even if it did seem strange, sure they still did have the occasional witty or snarky response but that was just what happened with the two of them, it was human nature and as natural as breathing to him. A defense mechanism that not a lot of people had gotten past and this was something he was not too sure if he wanted to bring back up again. Of course the two of them were expected to have their traditional screaming match to start off the year though and he knew that if they did not that people were just going to be even more suspicious and start to question if the Kings this year were going soft considering that Dante had been flying lower than the radar lately and Fred reminded himself yet again that he was going to need to do some investigations and figure out what was going on with him and make sure that whatever the problem was that it got changed so that they could be back onto the road to ruling the school not moping around like someone kicked them in the asses. Even Nico had not been himself lately and really he had not even seen the Italian prince too much well except for at the football practice where he had been to tell the coach that he was going to need a week off. The coach seemed intent on allowing this though knowing that Fred was one of the most determined people on the team and if he said that he was going to make up the time that he missed that meant that it was plainly going to be the way it was and they would be able to rely on him. There were whispers about this year being the one that the school started to make a name for itself in the realm of the football teams but he was not counting on it, while the team looked good they were a long way from being dangerous material. Brow raised as she stated that it sounded like a challenge and he shrugged. Well you and I know that it is the beginning of the year and everyone expects a fight even more epic than the previous year from the two of us. Though this year I am proposing that it should be staged, see just how good you are at acting. He uttered with a devious smirk. He did not know how she was going to respond to this.
While the summer had been good and he would do it all over again in a heartbeat he did have himself convinced that it was just the sex that was drawing him closer to her and causing the two of them to tolerate one another between the times that they met. She seemed just as appalled as he felt when he told her that Dante had been tame and this caused him to chuckle lightly. I know seems impossible right? He told her and could not believe that he was catching himself again right here agreeing with her. There was not a single time in his mind that he really could remember the Prince being tame, while there were times where he remained composed he was sure that there were inner workings of the hot-headed man that were working overtime. He was always very glad that he had been on the right side of the Prince and never on the receiving end of the scheming since he was known to be quite deadly. Yes that was announced at the Masquerade party this summer and yet I really do not picture that changing him this drastically. He continued he had been going over this in his mind for a long while and yet he had not come to a complete theory that he was confident in though it had made him feel better than worrying about his own problems. He could not help but laugh with her when she commented that maybe it had been his fiancée to be the one to make him settle down and this caused him to shake his head knowing how ridiculous that would be. That would be like you and I telling everyone that we were in love, everyone including ourselves would be laughing knowing it was not true. He uttered and did not even flinch. Nope we are safe for another little while I guess. He mused and stretched out on the bench to stretch his legs in front of him.

you don't know trouble, i'm hell of a scandal me, i'm a scene, i'm a drama queen i'm the best damn thing that your eyes have ever seen[/blockquote]
She didn’t quite know what to think when he asked her to stage the fight. Staging a fight? Sure, Mira was a good actress, but was she good enough for it to seem believable? She had one of the best poker faces in the pranking game that everyone seemed to be apart of at Vineheart, which was why she was one of the best at it, but could she pull it off? It wasn’t hard getting angry with Fred, but lately they didn’t have anything to be angry at each other about. When they were together, they were barely talking, and if they did talk it was cracking dirty jokes or something of the like. It was never anything deeper – never anything political or controversial or anything. And because Mira wasn’t sleeping with anyone else, who was there for Fred to warn about Mira, like he had the last time? They’d found a comfortable in between, and though it was kind of weird that they weren’t fighting, she knew it would happen sooner or late. But staging an argument? Maybe it would be fun. Maybe it would up the electricity between them, make the sex even better? A mischievous grin passed her lips at this thought. “Hmm, you know, that’s not such a bad idea. It could be fun,” she replied, pausing to give him a once over. “You’re on. Tuesday, in the hallway near the café.” That hallway was always crowded with students, no matter the time of day. They’d get lots of attention – exactly what they needed. The school needed to know that Fred and Mira still hated each other, so that there would be no suspicion later in the year. She didn’t know how long their nights would last over the course of the year, but she wasn’t going to stop their so-called “benefits” anytime soon. The benefits were just that good – even better because they weren’t friends, so nothing else to tie them together, right?
Nothing about Dante could ever change, which was why Mira was still a bit worried about the boy looking into things. They seriously could not have the Spanish prince find out about what was going on between them, or they were dead meat. She didn’t think Dante would out them, but he wouldn’t be quiet about it either, and eventually people would find out. And if Aubrey found out, everyone found out. And Dante would definitely tell Aubrey, if he knew. An alarmed look crossed her face at his last comment, and she proceeded to roll her eyes. “God, Fred, don’t even joke about things like that. The two of and “love” in a sentence never works,” she said. A minute later, though, she grinned slightly and laughed. “But you’re right – imagining that situation is hilarious. No one would ever believe us, only because that’s never going to happen.” They both knew what their relationship was all about, so there were no worries of lies along those lines. Good thing she had no plans to fall for Fred – gross! – because the entirety of Vineheart would be laughing at their faces for a good few weeks. And that was also why no one could ever find out what they were doing, because she didn’t think she could handle the “told you so”s and the whispers. She liked attention, but not that kind of attention. She made a disgruntled noise when he stretched out on the bench, forcing her to scoot to the very edge. Mira took this as her cue to leave – they’d already been talking for far too long – but as she stood up, she paused, a devious smirk on her features. Her eyes rested on Fred, and an eyebrow rose, a look she knew he was now familiar with. “You know,” she began softly, straightening her coat around her body. “now that Aubrey and Vivien are apart of the Queens, I have new roommates. And my roommates have yet to arrive. I’m all alone.” She left it to that, giving him a knowing look in her twinkling eyes.
