This Romeo is bleeding....
but you can't see his blood- - - - - - - It was his first official day back at work and he was already bored. He failed to understand why these students were so dull. None of them had any cigarettes on them, none of them knew any cool parties and he hadn't seen a single student yet with any professional flair for music. He wanted a prodigy, someone so musical that he could mentor them to be the next big thing. He'd tasted a little bit of fame, done a few gigs, it was the next logical step. But royals and servants.. no talent whatsoever in the guitar department. He'd met with Principal Norris to discuss theatre and choir arrangements. His schedule as a result was all over the place since all of his work was extra-curricular. The least anyone could do on their first day back was start a fight or something. Add a little spice to an otherwise boring occupation.
His first break was only a measly twenty minutes, but he was planning to haggle a dozen or so extra minutes since he had nothing planned until choir practice and orchestra. He hadn't put on the highest air of graces in front of the other staff but he noticed they didn't dislike him either. Apparently Brynlee hadn't given anyone the revelation on his attempts to woo her. Taking her to Mexico and breaking up with her wasn't a great story to tell from any point of view.
He had a strong coffee in his hand. It was handy when he wasn't used to such early mornings. He was still waiting for the jolt to kick in. Or for someone interesting to come in and talk to him. He hadn't seen Brynlee since she'd laughed in his face at the pastry shop. After that he figured he'd better leave her to it.

Brynlee had just finished a long class with kids who really had no ineterest in what she was teaching, but of course she had tried making it fun, which they all obviously appreciated, but it had taken quite a bit out of her. Not that she was getting old, but she was running on a few hours of sleep a night. Surprisingly, it wasn't even Amelia who was keeping her up but at the fact that her mind has never stopped racing. Of course, she would never blame Wida's children, she loved them like her own neices and nephews and wouldn't change a thing. She loved having them live with her. So instead of spending time in her classroom by herself while having a twenty minute break and a forty minute free period, Brynlee decided to roam the hallways of the school and become reacquainted with the walls that would surrounded her for the better part of the next nine months.
Of course, a cup of coffee would be a good place to start her wonderings, this way she wouldn't fall asleep while roaming the halls or even worse, fall asleep during class. Of course, she hadn't even bothered looking around the cafe until she got her coffee, but once she did have the warm drink in her hand, Brynlee looked around to see who was also in the cafe. Mainly it was filled with a few teachers and other staff. A few fifth years who had free period were also there, though she had no idea if they really had a free period or if they were just skipping. Deciding she didn't care if they were skipping, Brynlee made her way over to the one person she did know, though didn't always get along with, Azereux Nicolas Hardy, a.k.a. her ex-boyfriend. "Hey, is this seat taken?" She asked but sat down before letting him answer. Brynlee had only told Signe and Wida about her time dating Azereux, and hadn't felt the need to tell anyone else because it was in the past. Why bring it up and only cause trouble when she would be working with him for however long he decided to stay.
"So, find any students you think have potential yet?" Brynlee knew of a few musically talented students, but also knew that half, if not more than half, of those students had no wish or had no option of being able to be in the music industry. Brynlee wanted to talk to Azereux, she hadn't thought he was serious back in the pastry shop over the summer, but still she wouldn't lie that it did bring back memories of some of the good times the two had shared, just goofing off. He had been more than a distraction for the young twenty year old Brynlee who only wanted to get through college and start working.

This Romeo is bleeding....
but you can't see his blood- - - - - - - By the way nobody seemed to think anything of Azer's new table-buddy, he took the shot of presuming she hadn't told anybody, or many people. Nice to know he hadn't dated a gossip. Though they'd talked over the Summer he was still wary around her, since he didn't really believe they actually agreed on anything. He couldn't understand her desire to wait for a husband that would be far too busy and uninterested to have sex. Hence why he'd offered himself as the alternative. A part of him thought that she'd be happier with someone that had the time and energy to give her what she wanted but what the hey, he didn't care much what happened. Bryn's company didn't bother him though, even after that. He was neutral and even apathetic to it.
"Boring bookworms they call teachers aren't exactly friend-material." he replied, somewhat grouchy. With a murmuring groan he added "no offence" since she was one of the few teachers that were half-decent. He didn't spend his time with people that weren't. Nobody had caught his eye, there wasn't a teacher in the school that he would ever consider sleeping with, despite his incredibly low standards. Committment was always something that he was willing to try but he didn't believe he was compatible with it. Normally because when he tried it the person turned out to be someone he didn't want to spend his life with, so it was easier to play with the affections of several people than get tied down.
"These royals wouldn't know talent if it bit them in the nose." he scoffed, resting his head against his arms. He had no idea what subject Brynlee taught. He admitted he'd forgotten. Chemistry? Was he close? He didn't want to ask, he didn't need another lecture. The Principal knew he wasn't the most eloquent or even politest of men so he'd been given fair warnings about setting an example. BOR-ING.

Brynlee's eye raised at his grumpy attitude. "Someone's grouchy." She said in a sing-song voice. Brynlee honestly had no idea why she was actually in a good mood and conversing with Azereux and being able to stay in a good mood, but she wasn't going to question it. Instead she blamed it on the lack of sleep and the vast amounts of coffee she had been lately indulging in. Of course, Brynlee was always hyper, but usually not with Azereux after they broke up. Of course, their talk over the summer had both annoyed and made Brynlee think, but it still didn't explain why she was in a decent mood with him.
Pushing thoughts of whatever it was with her away, Brynleee took a long drink from her coffee. It wasn't too hot, but then again it wasn't cold either, just a perfect temperature for drinking. "Obviously you haven't met Signe yet." She said with a laugh at the thought of her best friend and shook her head. "None taken. I know I'm a bookworm, it comes with the job when you graduate high school at sixteen and have a Masters degree by the time your twenty-one." Brynlee was proud of her smarts, sure it tended to intimidate guys, but she would rather be smart than be stupid and have the guy who didn't really want her anyway.
"Well, I do know that Reena of France is learning guitar and has a very pretty singing voice. Try and catch her one of these times. I had her just last period for Biology." She said, though honestly couldn't remember all the royals she knew that had some form of musical talent. "Oh, wait, she's in chorus so you should eventually have her." She said with a laugh, she had forgotten that Azereux taught chorus, and only remembered Reena was in the chorus because she had went to last years chorus concert. "Give them a chance, some of them might just surprise you." She told him before taking another sip of her coffee. Brynlee was dressed, in her opinion, perfectly for a teaching job. She wore a Ralph Lauren Pearl Grey Cashmere cut-in sleevless shirt, with a black short jacket over it, a pair of grey slim leg trousers, and black kitten heel pumps. As usual she wore her Cinderella Platinum Plated Key and her Snow White curved white rose ring, though she had forgotten to wear her earrings and continuously kept touching her ears thinking that she had her earrings in. Giving a small sigh, Brynlee looked at Azereux and quietly remembered a few good, and a few bad memeories that involved the man in front of her.

It's been raining since you left me
now i'm drowning in the flood- - - - - - - Azer wasn't a great adapter to change. Spending more time with a woman he'd already tried to get into bed with wasn't really so much his style. Her presence alone was enough to make him feel reliable. He hated feeling reliable or predictable, he enjoyed very much being the opposite of those two things. Azer gave her a knowing look with a slight amount of glare as she stated the obvious. "I think I'll just ditch today. I don't really care for this school or any of the people in it." this time he wasn't going to add 'no offence'. There was nobody at the school, staff-wise, that he could share his love of music with. It really got him down because half the fun was making music with other people. In Azer's philosophy, having sex is almost like making a new tune with somebody. Everyone is different and no two experiences are ever alike.
Still in a bad mood, he could only shrug when Bryn mentioned her friend. "Friends of yours are probably nothing like the women I'm used to spending time with, it's best I don't cross paths with any of them." he really didn't like it here. He couldn't quit, not when earning money felt so good. It was the long days and the lack of fun company that really got to him. It was nothing like he'd been used to. He'd had managers worshipping him, fans clapping for him, he was the sole attention of everyone in the room. Everyone was fun (slightly lazy) and had more alcohol in their blood than blood. Here it was... different. People worked like mindless robots while the stress rotted their zombie faces. Azer clenched his teeth together when Bryn mentioned the Princess of France. His eyes dreaded her reaction to what he was about to say.
"Look.. uh.. the music industry is pretty competitive. When it comes to women, it gets even harder. They have to, uh, look the part. And Miss Reena hasn't quite 'developed' enough for that kind of work yet." he explained carefully. He couldn't come straight out and say that 99% of agents in the music industry had no interest in women that had no sex appeal. It was still a very sexist industry in some ways. Most stars today had to look phenomenal as if it were natural, far too much pressure to put on a prodigy of Reena's age. There was perhaps a grain of hope left that Azer would find the one kid he could take all the way but until he did, he was determined to wallow alone in trendy style. Not quite 'wallow in misery' as the phrase seemed to be, he wasn't miserable. He just wanted to go home or go out or do something fun.

Brynlee shrugged off his glare and took another drink of her coffee. "That's a good way to get fired Azer, though do what you want." She said as if she didn't care, though of course Brynlee didn't want him losing his job and then having no money to take care of himself, but if he wanted to be his normal self then she couldn't do a thing about it. Bryn had never really been able to figure out Azereux, though she did know him enough to know that he didn't do well with commitment and that he didn't do well with behaving. She wouldn't admit though, that it hurt to here him say he didn't care for the school or any of the people in it. Brynlee loved music, but she had never really ben able to do anything with it other than to sing and dance. Of course, she really never did this in front of anyone, though she had lost a bet with Signe and had been forced to sing at a karoke bar several months ago. She had sang her favorite song, Eternal Flame, though it had actually made her sad to think that she didn't have anyone to acutally sing that song for.
"No, she's quite a bit like me. Guys only see a pretty face and that's all they want." She said with a slight glare. "Besides, she's one of the only people I've told about what happened two years ago between us so I don't think she'd fall for your charm even if you did try." Brynlee didn't like the idea of Azereux and Signe, even if Signe hadn't been talking to Andrew, Brynlee knew she would not be happy if Signe did happen to fall for Azereux. 'I just wouldn't want her hurt.'
She thought to herself before taking another drink of her coffee. Running a hand through her red hair, Brynlee madea mental note to ask Signe wether or not she should dye her hair back to blonde or leave it her natural red color. Suddenly, Brynlee's phone started playing "In My Head" by Jason Derulo. Checking her phone, Brynlee saw that Signe asked her to see her later. Texting back quickly, Brynlee set her phone down and listened to what Azereux said, and it did not make her happy. "I was just saying she had talent, not for you to throw her out there. God, Azereux!" Brynlee should have expected him to say something like that but she was still caught off guard. All traces of Bryn's previous joking attitude was gone. She was tired how looks were the only thing that seemed to matter to people. Yes, she had good looks and guys always noticed, but she wished that talent and how someone acted mattered more. [/blockquote][/blockquote] -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Tag: Azereux!

It's been raining since you left me
now i'm drowning in the flood- - - - - - - "Well you fell for my charm." Azer pointed out. He felt it appropriate to mention it since she seemed to talk about his charm in a derogatory manner. As oblivious as she seemed now, she wasn't always so. And everything was fine between them until that trip to Mexico, he'd got tired of waiting, possessed by the excitement of a new place and he'd tried to get lucky. After that, he never called her again. It was sort of an alternative of his if he ever got tired of one night stands to settle down but the thought of doing it with just anyone wasn't something he treasured the thought of. He rolled his eyes, an unamused expression splitting through his face.
"Keep your hair on. Do you yell at all men like this?" No wonder she's single he thought to himself, if she freaked out over the slightest things. Stuff broke through her barriers so easily! Regardless of whether or not Azer had a crystal ball he could guess that Bryn wasn't ever going to be the type to give away her virginity until she's married some boring workaholic smack-talking wise cracker first. All the best to her. "Just chill, ok?" he leered, lifting up his sunglasses and perching them atop his hair as the glare from the cafe windows died down. Taking a few calming breaths, Azer's neutral face resumed.
"Let's at least try to start over, for the sake of our work relationship." he offered her his hand to shake. "Hi, my name is Azereux John Hardy. I'm twenty-seven, I was born in Oklahoma and raised in the state of Texas. I went to Washington University in St Louis, Missouri. I'm self-taught on the guitar and I received a degree in both Biology & Drama. I'm divorced and have been recently dropped by my management forcing me to put my music career on hold." when he finished he gave a nod to indicate that it was her turn.

Brynlee sighed, she had to admit that she did fall for his charms. ‘But that was two years ago, it won’t happen again. Besides, it’s not like he’d date me again. He knows I won’t give it to him.’ She thought silently. “Yeah, I did… but that was a long time ago.” She said quietly with a far away look in her eyes. Brynlee didn’t always mean to act the way she did, and go off the deep end on little things, but sometimes she just couldn’t help it. She tended to let her emotions over rule her at times and she knew she had to work on it. Her mother often said that it was a reason Brynlee didn’t have a boyfriend, but of course Brynlee knew it was because that she wouldn’t put out and guys didn’t like that. Having calmed down and now being slightly embarrassed, Brynlee gave Azereux a small apologetic look and sighed quietly.
“I’m sorry, Azer.” She said quietly and looked at her coffee cup and wondered if her mother was right. Brynlee hated the fact that no guy seemed to be able to stand her. Really she had a ton of friends, but no guy stayed with her romantically for long due to her emotions or her not putting out. Pushing her hair out of her face again, Brynlee nodded and finished her coffee. “You dated me, you should no I yell when I’m upset.” She said and threw her coffee cup in the trash can that was a little away from their table. It went in nicely, which slightly surprised Bryn as she never had been good at any sports other than dance and cheerleading.
Looking at Azer curiously, Brynlee nodded her head and listened to him introduce himself. Of course she was shocked to hear he had a degree in biology. That was something she hadn’t known about him, actually she hadn’t really ever known a lot about the man that she had dated. Keeping back a small laugh, Brynlee smiled a small sweet smile and her blue eyes twinkled with amusement. “Hi Azereux, my name is Brynlee Jade Iacovelli. I was born in the lower east side of Manhattan in New York City on January 1 at the exact moment the ball dropped, but we moved to Queens when my father started doing better in his law firm when I was roughly ten. I skipped both eighth grade and ninth grade, graduated high school at sixteen and I went to Dartmouth University where I majored in Biology and Secondary education and had a minor in dance and marine biology. I live in a overly large house with my two best friends Signe Ragnor and Wida Delight, and Wida’s four children. I don’t get along with my twin sister and my brother’s are pressuring me to move back to New York so they can keep an eye on me, though really they just want me to baby sit their kids and work at their night club.” She didn’t know if Azer knew any of that, heck she didn't even know if he really cared, but then again that was why she mentioned all of that.

It's been raining since you left me
now i'm drowning in the flood- - - - - - - As ready as Azer was to throw theories around about how or why Brynlee managed to stay single, the honest truth was that he didn't know. Yes, there was the fact that she was preserving her virginity but Azer was mildly entertained by her and could probably talk to her all day, no sex required. He came up with a million excuses why his smile grew after just seeing hers. He supposed she was just lucky his mood was improving. Truth be told Biology hadn't been something he wanted to pursue professionally and he hadn't had a clue that she taught biology for the majority of their acquaintance, so his degree didn't seem relevant to mention. Now he saw that it was maybe one of the reasons they became a couple, he would've listened to her talking about biology and thought 'wow, this girl is smart'. He was a sucker for smarts, as long as they weren't arrogant about it.
"Nightclubs are nice places to work actually, I've played bartender so many times now I rarely have to pay for my alcohol." he bragged, leaning back a little on his chair. "Not that I can see you working in a nightclub. You'd look completely out of place and would blush like mad if a guy tried to pick you up." he laughed at the thought, nerdy girls didn't work for him but on her it was cute. He told her as such. "Don't be embarrassed about it, it's cute." he winked, looking completely in his element. His smile was bearing teeth and his coffee was being casually ignored in Brynlee's company. It was natural for him to flirt, even if it didn't mean anything. He hadn't even realized it was flirting until he was about fifteen.
"I get that your insecure, I just don't know what for. Being the way that you are is enough for any man, I guarantee it." he said with a slight snigger, teasing her about all the personality that came with being with Brynlee. If Bryn could see herself through Azer's eyes, she'd be in for a pleasannt surprise. There was some regret being kicked up for ending it with her but he wouldn't go as far to say there was hatred for the way it turned out. Azer let Bryn think about what he said while he went to get a coffee that wasn't cold from him leaving it. He ordered a black coffee and returned to his seat hoping they remembered that he'd asked for black. Worse than that, the coffee was delivered to him black but it was an organic type of coffee and tasted dreadful.

Brynlee probably wouldn't admit it out loud, or even to herself, but she missed talking with Azereux. When they had dated, they always talked and laughed for hours, granted there was quite a bit of arguing and glares thrown in there, but they always had something to talk about with each other. Azereux was actually one of the only guys Brynlee had dated that hadn't really been turned off by her smarts, another reason why she had probably dated him. Brynlee wasn't a very arrogant girl, she knew she was smart and she knew she was attractive, but she didn't flaunt all of that, her personality was so hyper and bright that she couldn't be arrogant. It just wasn't her.
Laughing and shaking her head, Brynlee could believe what Azer said. "I can definitely believe that." She said though mocked hurt when he said she'd look completely out of place in a night club. "I'll have you know I look very in place when I'm at the club. I actually let loose while in the club and have fun. Besides, plenty of guys try to pick me up, I just know that they're only in it for the night and you, better than almost anyone, know that's not what I'm in for." After he told her not to be embarrassed and called her cute, Brynlee did something she hadn't done in a long time, blush. Azer smiled the same smile that made her fall for him the first time, his care free smile that showed his teeth. He looked compltely in his natural element. "I'm not embarrassed, actually my brother's really only prefer me to go clubbing at their club so they can keep an eye on me. Guys in the city tend to get a bit rough when they get turned down." She said quietly while looking away, with her eyes down and once again she looked to be a million miles away from where she really was.
Shocked by his words, Brynlee watched him leave to order a new coffee and silently wondered what he meant. 'It wasn't enough for you though was it?'
She thought almost bitterly to herself and ran a hand through her red hair once again, finally deciding that she was just going to dye it back to blonde again. Brynlee could remember almost all of the good times she had with Azer, even the good times in Mexico which she had spent quite a bit of time trying to froget. In fact, it was the bad times with Azereux that she hardly remembered anymore. She really only remembered arguing about stupid stuff, him disbehaving too much, and her fear of him cheating on her since she fully knew that he hated commitment. Brynlee had even thought for awhile what could have happened between her and Azereux if she had given in to him. Her scared mind only came up with him eventually leaving her for a girl who was more fun then herself, but it was true. Brynlee was insecure in the sense that no guy wanted to be with her longer than a few months. Once Azer returned to his seat, Brynlee looked at him with a small, almost sad smile. "It obviously isn't Azer, you're example A." [/blockquote][/blockquote] -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Tag: Azereux!

It's been raining since you left me
now i'm drowning in the flood- - - - - - - Without Bryn's supervision, Azer would've probably ditched by now. When there were no extra curricular clubs or music/choir going on in the day, and he had to sit around doing nothing, it felt like cancer. Earlier he'd presumed he'd gone blind because he couldn't see anything, then his consciousness came to and he realized he'd just rested his eyes for a few minutes. His smile faltered slightly when Bryn called him 'exhibit A' but his smile didn't leave for long. It soon picked up again, as did the mood in his voice. "Ah, that depends on your classification. I never had potential for a long-term relationship, it was bound to end sooner or later no matter what you acted like. For a guy that could give you something long-term, your an adequate amount of bubbly energy and stress." sometimes teasing her was just too much fun to resist. At least she knew to take his comments lightly.
Azer brought his coffee to his mouth and let it all race down his throat. He wasn't wasting more money on caffeine he wasn't going to consume, even if the stuff was terrible. If this was the kind of coffee regularly accepted in Montana (he wouldn't know, he'd only arrived back over the Summer) then he'd stop paying his rent right then. He guzzled it down, feeling it scorch his throat. He never was patient enough to wait for it to cool or to blow on it. Next time he'd get it with cream. Taking a safe swallow his attention went back to Bryn. The thought of her preservation for sex was still preying on his mind. The only conclusion that made any sense was that maybe there was a part of him that still thought he had a chance, though he couldn't see it.
"But let's look at your idea logically of waiting until after marriage. Your going to marry someone that you don't know if your going to be sexually compatible with, someone who hasn't shared the highest level of intimacy with you, someone that doesn't know how you like to be touched or how to make it good for you. Most guys I know need to be aware of the sex life they're going to be getting when they enter the formal commitment of marriage, thus awarding their partner with an engagement ring when they know what they'll be in for, for the rest of their lives." Azer put forward his point like a debate. He had his point and he was going to make it. It wasn't that he was perverted in his views, even if Bryn and he never got back together he couldn't understand the concept of waiting. Life was far too short.

Brynlee nodding, knowing it was true. She had actually been surprised that she had even agreed to date Azereux because she knew right off from the bat that he wasn’t a commitment kind of guy, but he was fun and she had always been a sucker for the bad boy musicians, though usually they were drummers, something about Azereux made Brynlee a little different than normal though. He made her want to have fun and not care about what she did but as always her refusing to give up her virginity eventually got in the way. He had lasted longer than what people had thought, though many said he was probably seeing someone on the side to take care of that and Brynlee had chosen not to believe though she had never really been sure. Rolling her eyes slightly at him and stuck her tongue out jokingly. Brynlee hated being reminded that she was somewhat stressful to a guy, but she knew not to take his comments to seriously, even though she usually did. “True enough, I’ve always seemed to attract the guy who didn’t want that kind of relationship though. Guess I just look like a girl who is easy even though I’m far from it.”
Shaking her head at her ex, Brynlee watched him as he probably scorched his throat. Brynlee had never been able to drink coffee when it was so hot, she usually let it cool before she even thought of drinking it. Even in the mornings Bryn woke up earlier than she really wanted to so she could make sure her coffee wasn’t too hot by the time she was ready to drink it. Normally she would help Wida get the kids all ready, go get her coffee, then get herself ready and quickly run out the door while Signe and Wida waited in the car for her. Brynlee loved Wida’s kids, as if they were another four set of nieces and nephews, she wanted her own someday but had no idea if she will ever have the chance. Azer, from what she knew, didn’t want kids so even if by some miracle they got back together, Brynlee didn’t know how it would work out. She wanted her own kids to love and spoil, she loved her nieces and nephews but she wanted her own kids.
Raising an eyebrow, Brynlee listened to him speak and realized that she had never thought of it that way, but of course she wouldn’t let him know that. Sometimes she was just too stubborn and set in her ways for her own good. “Azer, we’ve talked about this topic before. You just wouldn’t understand. I’ve lived my entire life thinking that I should save that for the person who actually loves me, cares about me, and is married to me. I wouldn’t marry a guy if I had doubts about how long we’d stay together. Besides, I don’t want to get married just because I am good in bed, I want to be married because the guy loves me for who I am and only loves me. I know that even married guys go and cheat on their wives, don’t get me wrong I know that. I guess I just want someone to love me like my dad loves my mom. He waited to have kids with her so she could work on her ballet career, he loved her so much you could just tell by looking at them, he trusted her and was her best friend.” She said quietly while looking at her hands. “Maybe you’re right though, maybe it’s just a fairy tale, but then again maybe I’ll find someone like that.”

It's been raining since you left me
now i'm drowning in the flood- - - - - - - Azer grudgingly swallowed his coffee, about half the cups contents to be exact. He knew what it was missing, lemon. It may have sounded strange but lemon drinks had a very good power on the throat. That was why they made Lemsips for people with sore throats. Every morning before a gig Azer had lemon in his coffee for that very effect. He supposed his current desire for one meant that he hadn't quite adapted to being not-famous. Not that he was a huge worldwide sensation but he was well known in a few states. Azer had a very 'hmm' look as Brynlee talked about the type of guy she attracted. He was quite insightful when he wanted to be. "I think that's a barrier, you date men that you know deep down will disappoint you so that you come to expect it. If you went for a guy that looked perfect, you run the risk of giving yourself wholly and being let down." Azer knew what that felt like, he was pretty sure he had some inch of that mentality himself.
"It's an outlook synonymous with postmodern psychological therapies that indicate that people actually search for incompatible mates as opposed to the predisposed belief that people search for their other half, their 'soul mate'. There is also a growing skepticism that supports the hypothesis that the term 'soulmate' is wearing thin on believers." Azer studied biology but by far his favourite branches of biology laid with human behaviour because it was something easily observed. It was something as plain and clear as day sometimes. Some things were just needs that made them human, like lust. It confounded him that Brynlee seemed completely absent of it. No matter how hard he tried when they were together, he couldn't make her want him enough to throw old philosophies out the door. It was almost insulting to his self-esteem.
"All I'm saying is, be realistic. You could meet the perfect someone to lose your virginity too, but your too wrapped up in the marriage idea to give him a chance. You know?" he didn't really care if he was overstepping any boundaries in challenging her beliefs, it was the way he was. He didn't expect it to make a difference though. He didn't think she really cared what he thought nor did he believe after challenging her ideas by the thousandfold, she might actually listen.

Brynlee could only stare at Azer, almost in shock, at what he said. ‘I don’t do that… do I? I can’t, I’ve always wanted a guy who I could marry some day… but maybe he’s right. I’ve always dated the guy who I knew right off the bat wouldn’t commit… Can anyone blame me though? Since my very first boyfriend I’ve either been cheated on or dumped because I wouldn’t have sex with him.’
Looking up at Azer at the last thought, Brynlee remembered the love bites she never remembered giving him, the texts from people she didn’t know, him leaving for days on end and her not hearing from him. She always suspected that he had cheated on her, but she had never really had proof so she never brought it up. She still didn’t feel like bringing it up, because that was not something to discuss at a high school, especially full of nosey royals. “Could be it I guess.” Brynlee finally mumbled while looking away again, though whether he heard her or not was unknown to her. Of course, anything relatively smart drew Brynlee’s attention, though if she were honest she would say she never expected anything like that to come out of Azereux’s mouth. “And then there are some people who are just too stubborn to think that maybe there isn’t someone out there for them, and they just continue looking for that one person who they are completely drawn to. Someone they can’t think of living without, even though they know they could…. No matter what science says, some people want and or need to hold onto that hope that there is someone who was made for them out there.” Once again, her voice was quiet, and almost desperate with a hint of sadness and defeat. Brynlee had been attracted to guys before, she had been and still is attracted to Azereux, but the fear of him leaving had gotten in her way of just letting all her old beliefs go and letting him have her fully. Of course, he didn’t help himself when he acted completely suspicious while they were dating. She didn’t know him well enough though to determine whether or not he had loved her and cared about her, and even if he had she didn’t know if he had and or would have stayed loyal to her for long. Brynlee was scared, and she knew it got in the way of her relationships, but she just wished that Azereux or someone could see that and show her how to not be afraid and prove to her that she was loved and that he would cheat on her. Rubbing her arms as if cold, Brynlee sighed and shook her head. “It’s not that simple, to you it might have been easy just to jump in bed with the first person you saw, God if I had done that I would have regretted it my entire life. I don’t want to regret it, sure maybe if I did give it up before marriage I might not regret it, but I don’t want to sleep with a guy and turn around to find out he was sleeping with some random person while he was with me. I just don’t want that, I wouldn’t be able to handle it.” She said still in using a quiet and almost defeated tone, a tone that was hardly ever heard from Brynlee. “I just wish for once people saw the real me and not the pretty looks.” [/blockquote][/blockquote] -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Tag: Azereux!

It's been raining since you left me
now i'm drowning in the flood- - - - - - - Azer hadn't heard Brynlee's admission but he didn't need to. He knew she did that because it was easier than committing to someone that would let her down. If for no other evidence, look at the fact that she'd dated him. He always made it clear to girls that he would try to be good but couldn't make any promises of forever or marriage. Many women thought they could change him, none ever did. Yes, Azer had married once, when he was sixteen and stupid. He was over ten years older now, he knew better. He had been in a relationship after that for nine years with a woman, she never ever got a ring from him. "Yeah, there are dreamers. I grant you that, but how are you supposed to enjoy any relationship if your worrying constantly about the consequences and whether they're 'the one', hmm?" that was definitely a philosophy Azer lived by. The second a relationship became less fun and more about seriousness he ran like the wind. Not because he was a jerk but because there was no progressing a relationship where the woman wanted straight answers about the future that he nor anyone else could give her.
"But you have a terrible record for being attracted to crooks, no offense. What stops you from accidentally marrying one?" Azer asked, with less of the stubborn attitude he had earlier. This time he actually looked as if he was willing to think about her answer. It concerned him to the core that she wanted marriage so badly, because any guy could seem perfect and ruin her long preserved virginity. And for what? Someone that didn't appreciate what she had kept specifically for him and a man that would most likely run off at the first obstacle. There was no getting away from the fact that Bryn was difficult to deal with if you weren't used to her ways. Another bizarre fact about her that he found strangely endearing.
He was curious as to what she'd mumbled but not enough to guess or ask for her to repeat it. He was used to mumbling, and Bryn was unlikely to do it in a judgmental way. She was probably just stubbornly admitting that he was right. His ability to analyze Bryn seemed to imply that he paid more attention to her during their relationship and since rekindling their friendship than he consciously noticed. "Saying that, I may have been a douche for breaking up with you like I did but you set the record as the first girl I didn't cheat on, congrats." he smirked with a short chuckle. He wasn't sure why he didn't cheat. It was common knowledge what he got up to at his after-show parties. He made sure he still went to those parties even when dating Brynlee but he had just been a better liar at hiding it so that Bryn didn't jump to her own conclusions.
"Don't you think if I was only looking at your appearance I would've been turned down by now?" he teased, though he couldn't doubt it was preying on his mind. He couldn't do it though, commit. There was no way he could date a woman that wanted sex after marriage either, after all he was a man with needs. It astonished him how Brynlee didn't have sexual urges herself, was she asexual or something? All women wanted to be touched at some point in their lives, it didn't make sense to him. "I mean yes, I think about what it'd be like to kiss you again, maybe, sometimes. But that couldn't have been why I've been sat here arguing with you, could it?" he offered rhetorically, knowing that at least made a little sense.
