Brynlee didn't like how she didn't have any of answers to the questions Azer was asking her. She was not used to being the one who was clueless. She had always just known that she didn't want to sleep with a guy until she knew that he wouldn't cheat on her, marriage had always been her thought, but affairs were much more common now and Brynlee didn't know what she would do if she found out her husband was cheating on her. "If they're the one, they should some how make it back into your life. Its like that saying, "If you love something, you let it go and if it comes back it was meant to be yours, if it doesn't than it was never yours in the first place." I know I haven't exactly lived by that but it's always how I've kind of thought of things. I haven't really trusted any of the guys I've dated but then again I guess I just thought I did... I don't know."
Sighing, Brynlee hated the fact that he was once again right. "Maybe I'll start doing background checks on them all." She said trying to be funny and make it a joke, but she suddenly realized that she was seriously thinking about doing just that. "No guys seems to want to marry me anyway Azer so that just doesn't seem like it's going to happen any time soon." Brynlee remembered Azer asking her to marry him in the doughnut shop over the summer, but she had thought he had been joking. Azer had even said that he wason't one for commitment and didn't like the idea of marriage because it was too serious and had no fun. Sometimes Brynlee wondered if she should just not care anymore and give into her urges, but then again she hated the thought of giving it to someone who didn't really love her and would just go and cheat on her. Either way, it seemed like Brynlee was never going to find the right guy who would love her for herself and actually want to marry her.
Looking up at him, her long time question had been answered. 'So he never cheated on me? Wonder why he didn't, especially if he cheated on all the others.'
She thought before actually voicing the question. "Why me? Why didn't you cheat on me but you did all the others? If anything I'm surprised you didn't, I know I'm no walk in the park, obviously, and to be honest you're my first boyfriend who hasn't cheated on me... well ex-boyfriend I guess is the correct term." Brynlee had never known about him going to his parties, though she figured after they broke up that he did as he was gone for numerous hours without her knowing where he was on those particular nights, she just hadn't really wanted to think he was. That was a reason why Bryn was so surprised that Azer hadn't cheated on her, she knew that those parties could get out of hand with girls throwing themselves at him and either him being drunk or sober he could have easily had one of them. Blushing at his teasing, Brynlee sighed and shook her head. "I guess not, you did stick with me for six months after all. Longest running too." Brynlee didn't know how Azer's mind worked and she couldn't imagine being in his shoes and not wanting to get married and have a family, that was one of the things Brynlee had always wanted, no matter what. Blushing harder when he said he still thought about what it'd be like to kiss her again, Brynlee shook her head and kept her eyes down so she didn't blush even more or look like an idiot. "No, I guess not. Unless you're really just that determined to prove a point." She knew it made sense, but she hated that. It wasn't often Brynlee was proved wrong, especially not on that particular topic. [/blockquote][/blockquote] -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Tag: Azereux!

It's been raining since you left me
now i'm drowning in the flood- - - - - - - "You laugh but background checks tell you all you need to know." he smirked, he could hack into anyone's personal files in a heartbeat. He made it his business to know who he got involved with, probably because not all of his antics would be construed as entirely legal. It might've been a worthwhile stunt to actually help Bryn check potential new guys out before giving him the all clear or the all out. "Uh, Bryn. You can't actually say that nobody wants to marry you when very few people know you intimately enough to make the decision." surprise surprise, Azer was smart and logical. Bryn brought it out of him. But he knew he was right. It'd be like him saying that nobody wanted to date him. That was only true because he hadn't explored enough possibilities.
He knew the question of cheating would come up. The 'why'. He leaned back in his chair, balanced for a moment and formulated his answer in his mind. Taking a breath and shrugging simultaneously he eventually replied. "I guess.. I wanted to see if you would be enough for me, you know, sexually. I can't be in a relationship without sex, I have urges. That's why I proposed. Because I like you, and I can be faithful, but I need to know that we can be physical." he explained, he was too accustomed to a healthy sexual appetite. He took the hedonistic approach that he shouldn't put up with a lifestyle absent of intimacy if that was what he wanted.
Overriding what he'd said back before his explanation he clarified. "In the pursuit of honesty, I did a hell of a lot of flirting and got a lot of offers." he felt like she deserved to know that he wasn't some faithful saint. He wasn't going to be sponsored by Christian organizations anytime soon, ironically. He was a Christian but against the established organization of religion in general. "My mother still remembered who you were -- before the surgery that is." he pointed out, bringing back to the forefront his mother's recently brain surgery. He didn't look sad only because she was bouncing back healthily now, her memory just wasn't what it used to be.
He cleared his throat and checked his watch. "Isn't your break over?" he inquired, knowing it was because their breaks were the same. Only Azer didn't care for them, every minute was a break for him. He loved being that way, it meant he was never obligating himself to anything.

Laughing, Brynlee looked at Azereux with a raised eye. "Did you do a background check on me when we dated?" She asked, genuinly curious as if he did. She was even more curious because if he did he would know that she had been arressted once for underage drinking and had taken a man to court for sexual harrasment and physical abuse as he had been drunk and tried to get Brynlee to go home with him and when he didn't get what he wanted, he had slapped Brynlee. Thankfully it had been in her brothers club so they had been there in seconds to get the man away, card him, call the cops, and help Brynlee. Ever since that one time, Brynlee had taken to carrying peppar spray and learned a few self defense moves in case any guy tried to force her. Of course, she wouldn't be able to take on a fully sober man on her own, but a drunk one she could handle well enough. "Few people know me intimately enough because most of them only want one thing and when they don't get it they run." She retorted, though liking the smart side of Azer but then again not liking it because it was trying to prove her wrong.
Brynlee watched him think of his answer, and hid the smile at how cute he looked while he thought.Of course she quickly mentally hit herself at the thought and waited for his answer. His answer had not been what she had been expecting, especially not the proposal part. "Wait a minute, you were being serious when you proposed over the summer?! I had honestly thought you were kidding!" Now fully blushing and completely thrown off, Brynlee didn't know what else to say. "I thought that you would never commit and be faithful, you did say that I was the only person who had never cheated on... I honestly can say I was unsure if you had cheated on me or not because I knew you had cheated on any other people you dated or did whatever with." With this new information, Brynlee couldn't help but look at Azereux differently. 'This can't be happening. This really can't be happening. Did I pass out? Am I dead? Oh God! What if I fell asleep in class?!'
Discretly, Brynlee pinched her leg to make sure she was awake, and found that yes she was awake. 'Okay, so I guess this is happening. What do I say? What do I do? I mean, I don't really know where to go from here... He doens't want kids, I do... would he be willing to change that? Bryn, stop, no. He didn't ask you to marry him again, he's had plenty of time to think it over and probably thinks he's retarted for even asking.' Finally coming out of her thoughts and hearing him, Brynlee shrugged having figured he did. He was a natural flirter and she didn't know if he'd ever stop. "Fair enough, you still didn't and that's what counts." She said with a small smile that was actually genuine. Perking up when she learned his mother actually remembered who she was, until she heard surgery. "What happened to you mum? Is she okay?" Brynlee hadn't spoken to Azereux since they broke up except for that one time over the summer when he proposed to her and that hadn't really been on of the things the two talked about. Brynlee had never minded Azereux mother, in fact she had been surprised she had ever met the woman. She probably should have taken that as a sign that he wasn't cheating, because most men don't show their mothers their girlfriends if the don't plan on staying with them very long. Looking at her phone, Brynlee realized her break was over, but she still had another free period. "Yes, but I have free period right now so I don't have to leave. Though do you have to leave?" She asked him quietly, actually hoping that he didn't have to. Suddenly remembering that she was supposed to talk to Signe, she quickly texted Signe and said she wouldn't be able to make it to their little meeting until they got home. She then promised to do Signe's share of cooking and cleaning for the next month so not to make the girl mad at her. It's been raining since you left me
now i'm drowning in the flood- - - - - - - "Nah I left old habits behind around the time I met you, so no background checks. Too much effort just for sex." he chuckled, wondering why he hadn't got any lately. Maybe he would go out tonight and get some. Possibly. "Don't raise your eyebrows so much, they're practically a fringe." he told her, a little tired of her trying to look down on him. After all they had two different lifestyles.
"Did you ever think that rather than running because they didn't get sex, they ran because they felt that by withholding yourself you were playing men around, not serious about the relationship and/or keeping them at a distance? The act of intimacy is important for a lot of men not just because of the pervy angle. It's a sign that you give yourself to someone and want the relationship to go to new levels. So you can't say that everyone you end up with stopped getting to know you for their hormones sake."
His cute smile didn't alter as he spoke to her. There were very few reasons why to stop smiling and her deep blush and realization wasn't one of them. "Kid? I don't kid about taking sexy redheads down to the aisle then taking them home and making sweet passionate love." he teased with a wink. He was just dying to see her blush some more, since he didn't get embarrassed at all. It was natural for him to flirt and he didn't take rejection to heart. Maybe one day he could say something like that and get a smile rather than an eye-roll or a laugh; especially not a laugh.
"She has a brain tumor, but she's still as active around the house as she ever was. Still cooks, still cleans, still tells me to get a real job." he smirked, he imagined she was a preview as the kind of wife he would eventually pick. Someone that kept herself busy and didn't stay down after taking a hit.

"But what if they were crazy and became obssessed?" She of course was kidding, the grin on her face let that be known right away. Of course, it was not unheard of for people to become obsessed and go crazy, even if it was just one night they spent with someone, but it wasn't very common. Rolling her eyes and sticking her tongue out, Bryn did give another smile and shrugged her shoulders. "Sorry, you're just surprising me a bit today."
Shaking her head, Brynlee could not remember ever thinking of it that way. "No, I hadn't ever thought of it that way. I was raised with the ideas of my parents so I guess it just kind of never passed my mind that there could have been different view points." She said with a small frown. "Some science major I am, not looking at things from all angles... guess I'm just too stubborn for my own good." The last part was a joke, but it was also very true. Brynlee was very stubborn and hardly did anything she didn't want to do, not unless she was thoroghly proven wrong.
Of course, just like Azer had been wanting, Brynlee blushed even more. "I don't know if I would have said yes even if I had known you weren't joking... I havne't spoken to you in two years and I didn't really trust you at the time." She admitted to him. "You're quite the puzzle to me Azereux, you make me think more than any man ever has." It was true, their current conversation was even proof of that. Azereux had been the only man she had ever dated who actually made her think, and re-think her views, especially during their current conversation. He was also the only guy she would ever reconsider dating, even though he was a flirt and broke up with her because she wouldn't sleep with him, but she didn't know if that was a smart move yet. Brynlee finally had to admit, at least to herself, that their conversation made her remember all the good times she had with Azereux and how much she actually missed him and why she had even dated him in the first place. She wanted to think on it and see if he was even still interested. She also wanted to see how he was around Wida's kids. Brynlee definitely wanted kids one day, not right away, but in the future.
"I'm sorry too hear that she had a tumor, but I'm glad to hear that she's doing good. I wish I would have known, I don't know what I would have done, but I would have thought of something I could do."

It's been raining since you left me
now i'm drowning in the flood- - - - - - - He flirted with women, lots of women. So naturally he didn't expect anything to come from this exchange with Brynlee, much less consideration of getting back together with him. He wouldn't get back together with him. He'd never tempted a woman into coming into his arms a second time. Sure they had good times but Azer knew he'd acted out of line when he broke up with her after one furious argument over her not giving him sex. And that had spoiled any good feelings they had for that lovely holiday he'd bought for them. A week in Mexico, that was fun. He enjoyed Mexico with Brynlee, it was a great vacation. Definitely good times. But it would've never worked out anyway, since she would've pitched for children eventually.
"Hey it's no biggie. Her memory comes and goes but she's not a lost case. The doctors still have hope." he shrugged with a small smile. He hadn't been close to his mother since he started smoking, drinking, screwing girl's brains out. Not since his father was murdered and barely spoke to her even before when he was thumping Azer into walls and stealing his money. His mother didn't need a diagram for how he was living his life, she knew well and truly and she gave up on him just as he had given up on any chance of their reconciliation. "Hmmm. Crazy and obsessed, you know that does sound terrible. Background checks it is." he smirked, though he found it unlikely he would actually attract a weirdo statistically speaking.
He attracted other musicians though, which sometimes could be the same thing. It was a refreshing change to have some - albeit foul - coffee with someone, no seduction required. Maybe he had been too harsh seeking sex from her, knowing what she believed. But he was happy being single in the sense that he couldn't keep watching her test and push men just to prove feelings that she wouldn't ever believe they had for her unless they wrote her name in the stars. All relationships are filled with good times and challenging times. However, if the challenging times run for years, it's not called a "rough spot in the relationship"... it's become a way of life. Azer didn't want that but he expected it of relationships. Inevitable suffering, like he faced as a child. "I'd better be going, to do boring stuff." he told her, leaving his empty coffee cup and finding his feet to say goodbye like professionals.

Brynlee had no idea what she was doing, but she was just going with it for once. Maybe she wouldn't get back together with Azereux, maybe she would. For the time being she was just going to talk to him and see how things go. He could even surprise her yet again, though maybe he would just disappoint her. For now, Brynlee couldn't care. She would take everything Azereux had said into consideration and just go with the flow of things. No, she wasn't about to go sleep with every guy she met, but maybe she wouldn't be so quick to judge. Over all, Brynlee was very confused, and needed to talk to Wida and Signe more than anything once she got home.
Glad to hear that his mother wasn't completely lost, even though she knew Azer wasn't very close with his mother, she was still his mother. "That's good to hear." Brynlee had only ever met Azereux's mother a few times, though it had still surprised her that she had ever even met the woman. Laughing at his words, Brynlee shook her head and texted Signe two more times quickly. "Probably wouldn't be fun to be stalked by a crazy person, so I think background checks, or even just some kind of idea on who the person is would be a good idea. Or don't, either way works I guess."
Brynlee knew that some relationships were hard and people faught, but she knew that there were good points in relationships and that they weren't all bad. If they were that horrible, then you shouldn't be in that relationship if you're just miserable. Looking up at him as he got up out of his seat, Brynlee did the same. "Me too, I need to go and get microscopes out before the kids come. I don't really trust half of the to carry the things the whole way across the room." She said with a laugh and pushed some of her red hair behind her ears. "Goodbye, Azereux. I'll see you around." She said with a smile and left the cafe and headed towards her classroom for the rest of her prep-period.
