Play By Esti Ginzburg
Hair Her hair is a very light, golden blonde and falls halfway down her back in waves and curls. In the summertime it is near bleach blonde, but in the winter darkens to its normal state. She most often wears it down and natural, since she does not have much time to do anything to it, and on days she is in a rrush, she'll throw it back into a low ponytail.
Eyes Her eyes are a very startling hazel that can darken to golden brown when angry and when she cries, become a very brilliant shade of summer green. They are almond shaped and coated by long lashes.
Height Kata is rather tall for her age, standing at about 5'7 to 5'8, and while she used to be extremely gangly, she has just now begun to fill out.
Features Kata has a very young, innocent looking face, which only matches her sweet personality.

Personality
Sweet. Kata is as sweet as she looks. She's always been a very kind girl, and is one to make friends easily. She always sees the good in everyone and everything, and would rather die than see someone upset. She loves people, loves making others happy, and for that she is the perfect servant. Her gentle nature, however, barrs her from ever truly speaking up for herself, so naturally she is easily vulnerable and easily bullied and manipulated. She thinks right and tries to do right, but never really protects herself from the cruelty of others.
Naive. Kata is innocent and naive, there is no other way around it. She's a dreamer, believes in fairytales and happy endings, and so is therefore ignorant. Despite her past, she easily forgives others, and this never really helps her in the end, as she can be taken advantage of. She believes wholeheartedly in love, and only wishes that the world were a better place for all. Her naivety is almost sickening, and she can easily break and mend in a blur.
Troubled. Because of her past, Kata has always been, and always will be haunted. She does not know that her family is dead, save for her sister, and so she is constantly thinking about them and constantly worrying about them, especially about her little brother Miska. Her sweet and optimistic demeanor hides her dark past, and no one would ever know that she'd been through such a terrible ordeal, but eventually Kata will break.

History
When Gusztáv and Aranka met, it was love at first sight. Gus, as she affectionately called him, had come from rag to riches and was working his way up into the upper class field of business. She was just a girl he met on the streets, who worked day to day at a yarn shop in the center of Debrecen in Hungary. She was beautiful, and sweet, and Gus wanted to take her hand right then and there. Two years later, the two were wed in a small, beautiful ceremony of family and friends. Gus gave her the best life possible, and had rose high into his job. A year after they were married, Aranka gave birth to a son named Henrik. Gus, and the rest of the family, couldn’t have been more proud to have an heir to the growing family business. Six years after having Henrik, Aranka gave birth to twin girls: Aurélia and Kata. Both babies looked like little angels with curly light blonde hair and pretty eyes.
The twins grew up pampered like any daddy’s little girls were, and all three of the children were peas in a pod. There was nothing about the Veres’ family life that was unstable; everything the children every asked for, was granted, and they never went hungry throughout the night. When the twins were six, Aranka became pregnant once more, and seven months later gave birth to a premature little boy, a sweet little thing named Miska. Kata was overjoyed to have a little brother to play with, and soon became attached to him, doing everything she could to protect and love him.
Despite the happy life, not all was well in the Veres family, little did Kata know. Her father’s brother, Éliás, was a very cruel, unhappy man. Jealous of the fortune that had blessed his brother’s family, her uncle was determined to see his brother fall and himself take over the business. His plan went into action a cold December night when Kata was just eleven years old. Late into the night, Éliás and his band of followers raided the Veres estate, taking the unsuspecting family hostage and keeping them blind-folded in a dark, quiet room. In the rush to drive the family into the room, Kata and her sister were grabbed to the side, and pulled into a hidden tunnel that led to the deeper chambers of the mansion. Kata, confused and upset, had cried out for her family, especially for her little brother – who had only been five years old – before being quieted by the person that had saved her and Aurélia. It was her childhood friend, and family servant, who was her same age and had been hiding from the attack and had wanted to see the two girls safe.
However, while trying to escape, two guards had caught the group of three and separated the girls from the boy, sending them back to her evil uncle in a different room than the rest of her family. Éliás, seeing the positive outcome of having such beautiful nieces, decided to send the girls to become sex slaves, and make fortunes off of it. She and Aurélia were sent to a temporary campground with the rest of the guards, and separated into different rooms. When Kata woke the next morning, Aurélia was gone, and she was shipped in a tiny box carriage with ten other girls, to the borders of Hungary. Alone and afraid, Kata had no one else to turn to, but during the trip to the border, began conversations with the younger guard, who pitied her and became infatuated with her. Not wanting to see her sold as a sex slave, that night he helped set her free and sent her with one of his friends to a place where he said “she would be well and safe.” Kata never heard from the rest of her family ever again.
When she arrived at her new home, she was surprised to find it the Hungarian palace in Budapest, the house of the royalty of Hungary. The Queen, a very kind-hearted soul, had not wanted to see the young girl turned away, so agreed to let her stay as a servant for her youngest daughter, the princess of Hungary. For the next two years, Kata humbly served the girl, and the two became very close, despite the difference in social status. She was treated well by the nobles, and learned to love her job, though she terribly missed her family and wished to find them. At thirteen, the Queen informed her that she would accompany the princess to Vineheart Academy, where she would – while still doing her duties as servant – get one of the best educations offered in Europe. Upon her arrival at Vineheart, Kata fell in love with the place, and was grateful to have such a good opportunity at a safe and friendly place. Though many of the nobles were prejudiced and unkind, Kata found she did not care – it was easy for her to make friends, and so she was given a life similar to the one she had in her younger years.
Now in her fourth year, Kata is becoming more and more troubled by her past. She wants to know what happened to her family, but she doesn't know where to look -- all she knows is that she believes them to be alive, due to Julianna informing her that the Veres company is still around.
